Philadelphia Eagles’ 90 man roster by jersey number heading into OTAs

The Eagles are in Week 4 of their nine-week offseason workout routine for all 32 teams with the training programs broken down into three phases, no mandatory minicamp for the vets and an already completed rookie camp held after the draft.

There have been some new additions to the roster since the 2022 NFL draft, and we’re taking an early look at Philadelphia’s 90-man offseason roster by jersey number:

Eagles draft-day trade history under GM Howie Roseman

Looking at the Philadelphia Eagles’ NFL draft-day trade history under GM Howie Roseman

The Philadelphia Eagles have entered the second year of a short-term rebuild under salary cap wizard and team GM Howie Roseman, with the franchise heading in the correct direction.

Roseman, known for never sitting still, has always been an active draft night trader, and will likely make a move or two 24-days from now during rounds 1-3.

Roseman has conducted over 38 draft-day trades over the previous 10 years, not including the 2015 draft when coach Chip Kelly snatched control of personnel.

With the Eagles looking to make moves, we’ve broken down and examined all of Roseman’s draft-day trades since taking the reigns on two separate occasions.

Eagles’ offseason workout dates released: 5 things to watch

Philadelphia Eagles’ offseason workout dates released: 5 things to watch

The NFL just announced its nine-week offseason workout routine for all 32 teams with the training programs broken down into three phases, one mandatory minicamp for the entire roster and one rookie minicamp for each team.

Phase One consists of the first two weeks of the program with activities limited to meetings, strength and conditioning, and physical rehabilitation only.

Phase Two consists of the next three weeks of the program with on-field workouts which may include individual or group instruction.

Phase Three consists of the next four weeks of the program where teams may conduct a total of 10 days of organized team practice activity, or “OTAs”.

No live contact is permitted, but 7-on-7, 9-on-7, and 11-on-11 drills are permitted.

With the rest of the offseason schedule now completed, here are five things to watch.

Is Eagles’ QB Jalen Hurts the best bargain in the NFL?

Jalen #Hurts led the #Eagles to the #playoffs in his second season and it’s safe to say, no player in the #NFL offers more value at their position #TBvs#PHI #PHIvsTB #FlyEaglesFly

On Sunday in Tampa Bay, Jalen Hurts will become the youngest quarterback in Eagles history to start a playoff game (23 years old), and after watching Carson Wentz implode against Jacksonville, the former second-round pick now holds all the cards.

There are 32 starting quarterbacks in the NFL and about 12-13 backups that are capable of starting at some point, as well, but Hurts did what several high-profile stars were unable to this season.

John Clark of NBC Sports recently asked a question in regards to Hurts’ value, and whether he’s the best bargain in the entire league?

We took an even deeper dive thanks to Over The Cap and NextGenStats, and you look at his total production, compared to other players around the league at his position, Hurts is by far the best bargain and offers the most value.

2022 Eagles schedule: List of opponents set

2022 #Philadelphia #Eagles schedule: #Wentz and the #Colts, #Titans #Cardinals headline list of opponents

The Eagles are about to start preparation for a playoff matchup against the Buccaneers, but it’s never too early to start looking forward to 2022.

Philadelphia is a 2021 playoff team and they’ll finish in second-place within the NFC East, earning Nick Sirianni’s team a second-place schedule. Such a scenario would have Philadelphia facing their normal division foes twice (Dallas, Washington, New York), while also facing all four teams in the NFC North.

That’s not the most exciting aspect of the schedule and a trip to Indianapolis looms as one of the largest matchups on next season’s schedule.

Tracking the Eagles 2022 NFL Draft order after Week 5

Tracking the Philadelphia Eagles 2022 NFL Draft order through after Week 5

The Eagles front office is among the Week 5 winners after several scenarios inched the organization closer to draft royalty.

Prior to the 2021 NFL Draft, the Eagles traded Carson Wentz to the Colts, and the team received a conditional second-round rounder in 2022 that would become a first-round pick if the quarterback takes 75% of the Colts’ regular-season offensive snaps or 70% if they make the playoffs.

Philadelphia also owns the Dolphins 2022 first-round pick after trading back to No. 12 overall.

Tankathon is tracking the draft order for all 32 NFL teams and Philadelphia currently would have 3 picks in the top-15 of the 2022 selection process.

Final Philadelphia Eagles 53-man roster projection ahead of season opener vs. Washington

Final Philadelphia Eagles 53-man roster projection ahead of season opener vs. Washington

The Philadelphia Eagles are less than one week away from a season-opening showdown in D.C. against Chase Young and the Washington Football Team.

With training camp over and several notable changes to the roster, here’s our final 53 man roster projection with two extra players added because the Birds technically can elevate two practice squad players per week, basically carrying 55 if they so choose.

***

QB – 3 — Carson Wentz, Jalen Hurts, Nate Sudfeld

Sudfeld was the unquestioned backup but Hurts looked sharp at times during training camp. It wouldn’t be a shock if the Eagles moved on from Sudfeld, but if he makes the team he’ll be the backup one week from now.

***

Boston Scott

RB – 3 — Boston Scott, Corey Clement, Miles Sanders

The Eagles appeared prepared to enter the 2020 NFL season with two holdovers from last season and a refurbished Corey Clement, but it appears only three running backs will make the cut.

Look for the undrafted rookie Adrian Killins to find a role on the expanded practice squad after being a part of the first round of cuts.

8 small-school prospects for the Eagles to consider in the 2020 NFL Draft

The Eagles are used to targeting small school players in the NFL draft and the results have been positive recently.

The Eagles went small in 2016 landing Carson Wentz and the results have been fairly positive since Howie Roseman used the No. 2 pick on the former North Dakota State star.

There have been plenty of small-school gems drafted over the years and with the Eagles in need of some retooling, here are 8 sleeper prospects who could interest the Birds.

4 takeaways from the Eagles agreeing to deal with DT Javon Hargrave

4 takeaways from Eagles agreeing to deal with DT Javon Hargrave

[jwplayer XOw3Fyxk]

The Philadelphia Eagles have a new game-wrecker nicknamed the ‘Gravedigger’ to pair with Fletcher Cox in what should be the NFL’s most dominant interior tandem.

Javon Hargrave is leaving the Steelers to come across the state after agreeing to a three-year, $39 million deal that includes $26 million guaranteed, according to Adam Schefter.

The 89th overall pick in the 2016 draft, Hargrave played in 62 career regular-season games with the Steelers, starting 52, while racking up 168 tackles (22 for loss), 14.5 sacks and 22 quarterback hits.

Over the past two seasons, Hargrave has been dominant, tallying 67 tackles and 10.5 sacks while helping the Steelers lead the NFL in sacks during that span.

Now an Eagle, he’ll team with Fletcher Cox, while allowing Philadelphia to have one of the most versatile defensive fronts in the NFL.

Here are 4 takeaways from Hargrave’s deal:

1. Eagles are back to prioritizing the defensive line

The Eagles prioritize the defensive line an had gotten away from the pressurized front that had given offenses hell over the 2017 and 2018 seasons.

Hargrave is a major boost to an interior defensive line that’s been lacking outside of Fletcher Cox.
