NFL Draft: Eagles legend Brandon Graham to announce Philadelphia’s 2nd round picks

Brandon Graham will be the Eagles legend that announces Philadelphia’s Day 2 picks during the 2024 NFL Draft from his hometown of Detroit

Brandon Graham is heading home. The Eagles star is returning to Detroit as one of 32 legends or current players who’ll introduce Day 2 and 3 picks.

The NFL announced the move on Thursday, just hours before the start of Round 1.

In the NFL’s continuous effort to connect the game’s greats with the next generation of stars, NFL Legends and active players will add to the excitement of the 2024 NFL Draft by announcing various selections and participating in festivities in Detroit.

Pro Football Hall of Famers Isaac Bruce, Darrell Green, Calvin Johnson, Warren Moon and Barry Sanders are among the Legends in attendance to announce selections for the NFL Draft.

Graham is set to play his 15th and final NFL season, and the native of Detroit will get to honor his current team during the draft in his hometown.

Eagles updated 76-player roster as 2024 offseason program gets underway

We’re looking at the Philadelphia Eagles updated 76 man roster as the offseason workout program gets underway

The Eagles are back at the NovaCare Complex as the offseason program begins for 76 select veterans and second-year players.

The nine-week training program has three phases: one mandatory minicamp for the entire roster and one rookie minicamp for each group.

Phase One consists of the first two weeks of the program, with activities limited to meetings, strength and conditioning, and physical rehabilitation only.

Phase Two consists of the next three weeks of the program with on-field workouts, which may include individual or group instruction.

Phase Three consists of the next four weeks of the program, during which teams may conduct ten days of organized team practice activities, or “OTAs.”

No live contact is permitted, but 7-on-7, 9-on-7, and 11-on-11 drills are allowed.

The Eagles are changing their offseason program, including adding a mandatory minicamp for the first time under Nick Sirianni. They will have 7 OTAs (May 20, May 22-23, May 28, May 30-31) and three days of mandatory minicamp (June 4-6). In 2022 and 2023, they had six total OTAs.

With the workouts and on-field training underway, we’re looking at Philadelphia’s updated 76-player roster ahead of next week’s NFL draft.

Brandon Graham was a guest on ESPN Thursday and told Joe Fortenbaugh and Chris Carlin that the Eagles late season collapse was due to “ a bunch of miscommunication.”

Philadelphia made significant changes to the coaching staff following a historic collapse that saw the Eagles lose 6 of their final seven games.

The positive vibes are back around the NovaCare Complex following the additions of Vic Fangio (DC) and Kellen Moore (OC).

Gone are Jason Kelce and Fletcher Cox after retirement announcements, but Brandon Graham remains, and he’s on a media tour as he works to begin preparation for his post-NFL career.

Graham spent Thursday in Bristol making the rounds on ESPN’s Sports Center, NFL Live, and Joe vs. Carlins. During the appearance, Graham was asked about the Eagles’ collapse and blamed it on “a bunch of miscommunication.”

The offseason is in full swing, particularly for the Philadelphia Eagles, who have already made several roster and coaching moves this spring. Eagles GM Howie Roseman started free agency with a bang, agreeing to deals with Saquon Barkley (RB) and Bryce Huff (DE) while retaining Josh Sweat and punter Braden Mann. Philadelphia then signed Landon Dickerson to a monster contract extension and C.J. Gardner-Johnson to a three-year deal. The free agent period and NFL draft are Howie Roseman’s seasons, and the Eagles GM got off to a roaring start after inking running back Saquon Barkley to a three-year deal, signing improving pass rusher Bryce Huff and then bringing versatile defensive back C.J. Gardner-Johnson back into the fold.

Roseman then added talent to the backup quarterback position, acquiring Kenny Pickett from the Steelers for a 2024 third-round pick and two 2025 seventh-round picks.

Philadelphia’s veteran pass rusher Brandon Graham was the first to greet and welcome franchise running back Saquon Barkley to the Eagles

Saquon Barkley and Brandon Graham are teammates now, which means the former Michigan linebacker will never have another chance to tackle the former Penn State running back in an official NFL game.

They can still go at it in practice, and Philadelphia’s veteran pass rusher wanted to greet Barkley first before the running back arrived at the NovaCare Complex to sign his contract.

In 14 games last season, Barkley logged 962 yards and six rushing touchdowns, 41 receptions for 280 yards, and four touchdowns for the 6-11 Giants.

Barkley played six seasons for the Giants. He logged 1,201 carries for 5,211 yards, 288 catches for 2,100 yards, and has scored 47 touchdowns.

Brandon Graham’s contract with Eagles will pay him $4M in 2024

The Philadelphia Eagles are signing Brandon Graham to a one-year, $4 million deal for the 2024 season

Brandon Graham is just days away from signing his final NFL contract after agreeing to a one-year, $4 million deal.

While Jason Kelce has retired, and Fletcher Cox could be next, Graham will take one final victory lap in his 15th season.

A 2010 first-round draft pick, Graham is the Eagles’ longest-tenured player, spending his first 14 years with Philadelphia. A respected veteran leader and a defensive captain, Graham played only 34 percent of the Eagles’ defensive snaps in 17 games last season.

He’ll now return to Philadelphia and mentor Nolan Smith while preparing for a career in the media.
