Browns Wire Staff Predictions: Can the Browns continue their magical season vs. Texans?

As the Browns get set to take on the Texans, here are our Browns Wire Staff Predictions.

It is Wild Card Weekend, and the Cleveland Browns and Houston Texans are set to kick off the postseason this afternoon at 4:25 in Houston.

The Browns enter this matchup with a record of 11-6, 4-0 in the last four games that quarterback Joe Flacco has started. The Texans, fresh off of stealing the AFC South from the plummeting Jacksonville Jaguars, enter this game with a record of 10-7.

Winning the first matchup in blowout fashion, the Browns had to face off against their former backup quarterback Case Keenum in that game. Wide receiver Amari Cooper set the franchise record for receiving yards in a single game, and the only touchdown the Texans scored before the Browns peeled back their starters came from a kick return.

With C.J. Stroud and others returning for this game, however, can the Browns find similar success? Here are our Browns Wire staff predictions as the Browns look to continue their 2023 season which has been nothing short of a wild ride.

Browns Wire staff predictions: Can Cleveland make it 12 despite resting starters?

Can the Browns make it 12 even with the majority of their starters resting?

Welcome to Week 18 as the Cleveland Browns end it how they started it: a matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Quarterback Joe Flacco, defensive end Myles Garrett, and a plethora of Cleveland starters will not suit up in this game as the Browns already have the fifth seed in the AFC locked down. The Bengals, however, are expected to play all of their starters despite the final chapter of their season’s end already written.

However, do not expect the Browns and those players who have been chomping at the bit for playing time to back down as they travel to Cincinnati. Can quarterback Jeff Driskel and the Cleveland youngsters still get the job done as the Browns have the chance to win their 12th game for the first time since 1986?

Here, our Browns Wire staff makes their last predictions of the regular season as Cleveland just needs to get out of this game in full health.

Browns Wire Staff Predictions: Can Joe Flacco and the Browns lock up their playoff spot vs. Jets?

As the Browns look to take on the Jets, can they lock down their playoff spot tonight? Here is what our Browns Wire staff thinks…

Welcome to Week 17, and what a Week 17 it has the potential to be for the Cleveland Browns. As quarterback Joe Flacco takes on his former team, the New York Jets, the Browns have the opportunity to lock down a playoff spot in front of their home crowd during primetime Thursday Night Football.

They will be wearing their flashy all-white uniforms with their new white helmets, looking for their fourth win in a row and their ninth win in their last 12 outings. Defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz has his defense playing at the top of their competition at home, and head coach Kevin Stefanski has kept this team rallied together despite multiple injuries to significant contributors.

Can Flacco and wide receiver Elijah Moore enact revenge on their former team as the Browns look to clinch their spot in the playoffs? Here is what the Browns Wire staff thinks will go down at Cleveland Browns Stadium tonight.

Browns Wire Staff Picks: Can Cleveland rebound at home vs. Jaguars?

The Jaguars may not have quarterback in Trevor Lawrence, but the Browns have quarterback uncertainty of their own. Who wins this game?

After dropping two games in a row out west, the Cleveland Browns return home looking for a big win against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Sitting at 7-5, the Browns still control their own destiny toward a wildcard spot, but a win over the Jaguars puts them firmly in the driver’s seat. As the Jaguars have questions about the health of their quarterback Trevor Lawrence, the Browns have an opportunity to capitalize.

The Browns, however, have some quarterback uncertainty of their own entering this matchup. While it is expected that Joe Flacco will start after taking the majority of first-team reps this week, rookie quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson has also cleared the concussion protocol. Head coach Kevin Stefanski has declined to name a starting quarterback for this Week 14 showdown.

How does our Browns Wire staff think this game will go? Here are our staff predictions as the Browns look to lock in their eighth win of the season at Cleveland Browns Stadium on Sunday.

Browns Wire Staff Predictions: Can the Browns make it four straight vs. Russell Wilson and the Broncos?

The Browns are traveling to Denver to take on Russell Wilson and the Broncos. Here are our staff predictions for the game

We are now less than 48 hours away from the Week 12 matchup between the Cleveland Browns and Denver Broncos. Led by Russell Wilson, the Broncos are looking to win their fifth-straight game as they have found a bit of a rhythm, beating the likes of the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills during their win streak. The Browns, on the other hand, are looking to win their fourth game in a row and their fifth in their last six outings.

While the Browns are entering this matchup with significant injury damage to their roster, including the likely absence of Pro Bowl cornerback Denzel Ward, they have found ways to win uglier games this season. Can the Browns find a way to win ugly once again as rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson gets his third career start in the Mile High City?

As the Browns prepare to advance to 8-3 on the season and further boost their playoff chances, here are our weekly Browns Wire Staff Predictions.

Browns Wire Staff Predictions: Will Deshaun Watson lead Cleveland to 5-3 vs. Cardinals?

Can Deshaun Watson and the Browns advance to 5-3 on the season over the Arizona Cardinals? Here is what our Browns Wire staff thinks.

Welcome to Week 9 of the NFL season, and as the Cleveland Browns sit at 4-3 on the season, they find themselves in the heart of a playoff race. They will welcome the 1-7 Arizona Cardinals to Cleveland Browns Stadium looking to rebound from a tough loss a week ago and tack on another win to their record. This matchup will feature Deshaun Watson returning to the lineup against rookie quarterback Clayton Tune making his NFL debut.

The Browns have found some success offensively over the last three weeks without Watson, but are hoping they can hit new heights with their $230 million quarterback back under center. With Kyler Murray waiting at least another week to make his return to the field after tearing his ACL a year ago, the Browns are massive favorites in this game.

How will this matchup between the Browns and Cardinals play out? Here are our weekly Browns Wire staff predictions.

Browns Wire Staff Predictions: Can the Browns shock the world again vs. Seahawks?

Can the Browns make it three in a row against the Seahawks? Here is what our Browns Wire staff thinks…

The Cleveland Browns, once again led by backup quarterback P.J. Walker, are all set to take on the Seattle Seahawks. Looking to spoil the debut of their throwbacks today, the 4-2 Browns will have their hands full against Geno Smith, Pete Carroll, and company. As we have seen before, however, the task ahead is not an impossible one for Kevin Stefanski and his unit.

Both teams are entering this matchup off of a win as the Browns took down the Indianapolis Colts on a last-second score, while the Seahawks beat the Arizona Cardinals in an ugly game.

The Browns face some injury questions at left tackle and running back as Jedrick Wills and Jerome Ford are questionable. For the Seahawks, wide receiver Tyler Lockett and safety Jamal Adams are questionable for this game.

Can the Browns make it three in a row? Here are our Browns Wire staff predictions for this Week 8 showdown between these 4-2 teams.

Browns Wire Staff Predictions: Can the Browns make it two in a row against the Colts?

The Browns look to make it two in a row against the Colts. Can they get it done? Here is what the Browns Wire staff thinks…

Coming off of a shocking and much-needed ugly win against the San Francisco 49ers a week ago, the Cleveland Browns are riding high as they travel to Indianapolis to take on the Colts. Can they avoid a trap game the way the Niners were unable to a week ago? The Browns will get quarterback Deshaun Watson back into the lineup but may be without running back Kareem Hunt.

The Browns have not won back-to-back games yet this season, but will look to do so for the first time today. If they do, they will advance to 4-2 on the season for the first time in three years. Sitting at 3-3, the Colts are looking to prove their season is not over despite the loss of Anthony Richardson. Can they get the job done against the underdog Colts led by Gardner Minshew?

Here are our Browns Wire staff predictions for this Week 7 AFC showdown between the visiting Cleveland football team and the Colts.

Browns Wire Staff Predictions: Can the Browns do the unthinkable against the 49ers?

Can the Browns come out on top of the 49ers despite having their backs against the wall?

The Cleveland Browns enter this Week 6 contest against the undefeated San Francisco 49ers with a record of 2-2. They will be without starting quarterback Deshaun Watson once again in this one as practice squad veteran P.J. Walker will get his first start of the 2023 season after starting five games for the Carolina Panthers a year ago. Bettors are not high on the Browns either, as they sit as 9.5-point underdogs in this game against the NFC juggernaut.

However, can the Browns come out and do the unthinkable and upset the Niners with their backs against the wall? They face a tough task today as Brock Purdy, Kyle Shanahan, and the high-powered Niners’ offense come to town. Defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz has typically had the number of Shanahan, however, so maybe the Browns can squeak out an ugly win.

Here are our weekly Browns Wire staff predictions as the Browns look for their third win of the season today.

Browns Wire staff predictions: Can the Browns rebound against the Titans?

The Browns are looking to rebound in a big way on Sunday. Who is the Browns Wire staff taking in this one?

With both teams entering the game with a record of 1-1, the Cleveland Browns and Tennessee Titans are set to square off in a Week 3 tilt that carries high meaning. Coming off of a devastating loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers (both on the scoreboard and in their backfield), they need to prove they are the legit contenders their defense is playing like. The Titans are coming off of a win against the Los Angeles Chargers looking to prove they are better than their roster is on paper.

Can the Browns rebound after laying an egg a week ago despite losing their top offensive weapon in Nick Chubb? Can the Titans reel off two in a row? These are questions that will be answered in less than 24 hours from now as the teams are set to square off at Cleveland Browns Stadium.

As we do every week, here are the predictions from our three staff members at Browns Wire.
