Ravens reportedly interviewing Bills WR coach Chad Hall for vacant OC position

The Ravens are reportedly interviewing Buffalo Bills wide receiver Chad Hall for their vacant offensive coordinator position

The Baltimore Ravens have been looking for their next offensive coordinator in a detailed search ever since parting ways with Greg Roman. Their next offensive play-caller will hopefully bring in new and innovative ideas, and will potentially be working with one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL in Lamar Jackson if he returns to the team.

On Tuesday evening, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reported that Baltimore will be interviewing Buffalo Bills wide receiver coach Chad Hall on Wednesday for their vacant offensive coordinator opening. Hall has plenty of respect around the league, and played for four years in the NFL as a wide receiver himself.

LeBron James is now fourth in career assists

LeBron James added yet another statistical achievement on Tuesday when the Lakers beat the Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

For the first time since the 2019-20 season, LeBron James suited up for a Los Angeles Lakers game at Madison Square Garden versus the New York Knicks on Tuesday.

He didn’t have a super-efficient offensive outing, but he achieved his first triple-double of the season: 28 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists, and the Lakers survived in overtime, 129-123. It was a victory they simply had to have after losing their previous two contests.

With that triple-double, he surpassed two people on the NBA’s list of most career assists — Marc Jackson and Steve Nash — to move into the fourth spot on that list with 10,336.

Next on the list is the Phoenix Suns’ Chris Paul, who has 11,246 assists, and after that is Jason Kidd, who retired with 12,091.

No one can safely predict if James will surpass Paul, especially since the Suns’ leader is averaging 8.7 assists a game this season. But many are learning to not count out the four-time MVP when it comes to anything that has to do with his longevity.

WATCH: Tom Brady hits the red carpet for ’80 for Brady’ movie premiere

Check out Tom Brady and his legendary Hollywood costars at the premiere of their new movie, “80 for Brady”

Okay, so it’s not a red carpet, but actually just a fake football field.

But either way, Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady was in attendance Tuesday night for the premiere of his new movie, “80 for Brady,” which is based on a true story of four friends taking a road trip to see one of his many Super Bowl victories.

Brady stars in the movie alongside four Hollywood legends: Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Rita Moreno, and Sally Field, as well as former New England Patriots teammates Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman.

While the rest of the football world wonders whether or not he’ll retire or return for another season in 2023, Brady is still taking his time making a decision, and enjoying some of his off-field pursuits in the meantime.

NBA fans on Twitter react to Lakers’ win over the Knicks in New York City

Lakers fans on Twitter were happy their team defeated the Knicks on Tuesday and feel it is headed in the right direction.

When the Los Angeles Lakers visit Madison Square Garden to play the New York Knicks, as they did on Tuesday, it’s always a glamor matchup, especially now that the Knicks have a playoff-caliber team.

The celebrities showed up at the Garden. Spike Lee, Jon Stewart, Pete Davidson, Michael J. Fox and Chris Rock, among others, watched LeBron James take on the home team.

In a back-and-forth affair, the Lakers came out on top in overtime, 129-123. Although the contest wasn’t that pretty, it was fairly entertaining, and James put up a triple-double.

It was the third game of a five-game road trip for L.A. but its first win on the trip. Still, Lakers fans on Twitter were pleased with the victory, as well as the potential of the team.

Chargers found these 23 prospects at Senior Bowl in past six years

Chargers GM Tom Telesco has a track record of drafting players that have been a part of the event.

For the 32 NFL teams in attendance, the Senior Bowl is a chance to see some of college football’s top players square off in a week of practices and a full game to wrap things up to prove to them that they can prepare, practice and compete like pros.

Within all of the action on the football field, this is the team’s first opportunity to sit down and get to know the prospects after watching them for years at their perspective school and talking to their coaches to gain more information on them.

While many clubs view this as just the first step of the pre-draft process, Chargers general manager Tom Telesco sees it as more than just that, given his track record of drafting players that have been a part of the week’s long event.

Since 2017, Los Angeles has drafted 23 former and current players who have participated in the Senior Bowl:

G Forrest Lamp, Western Kentucky — 2017

G Dan Feeney, Indiana  – 2017

S Rayshawn Jenkins, Miami – 2017

DB Desmond King, Iowa – 2017

DE Isaac Rochell, Notre Dame – 2017

DT Justin Jones, NC State – 2018

LB Uchenna Nwosu, USC – 2018

C Scott Quessenberry, UCLA – 2018

LB Drue Tranquill, Notre Dame – 2019

S Nasir Adderley, Delaware  – 2019

QB Justin Herbert, Oregon — 2020

RB Joshua Kelley, UCLA — 2020

S Alohi Gilman, Notre Dame — 2020

WR K.J. Hill, Ohio State — 2020

WR Josh Palmer, Tennessee — 2021

TE Tre’ McKitty, Georgia — 2021

OL Brenden Jaimes, Nebraska — 2021

RB Larry Rountree, Missouri — 2021

S Mark Webb, Georgia — 2021

OL Zion Johnson, Boston College — 2022

S JT Woods, Baylor — 2022

DT Otito Ogbonnia, UCLA — 2022

OL Jamaree Salyer, Georgia — 2022

Since he took the job in 2013, some of Telesco’s most significant values when evaluating players are production, statistics, and time spent at school. Another thing that he covets is not only good players but good people.

It’s rare that any of the guys brought in have issues or are constantly in trouble with off-the-field stuff. Instead, Telesco brings in good football players that are tough and competitive and fits the culture of what the Chargers want to be both on and off the field.

There will be plenty of players that should draw the attention of Telesco and the rest of the staff on hand, both on the offensive and defensive side of the ball.

Former Washington left tackle Trent Williams not ruling out retirement

Trent Williams will be 35 when the 2023 NFL season begins.

Since Trent Williams left Washington ahead of the 2020 NFL season, he has earned three trips to the Pro Bowl and was named first-team All-Pro in each of the last two seasons for the San Francisco 49ers.

Williams, of course, was the No. 4 overall selection in the 2010 NFL draft by Washington, where he spent the first 10 seasons of his career. Things didn’t end well between Williams and Washington due to his season-long squabble with former team president Bruce Allen. Williams had a cancerous growth removed from his scalp ahead of his final season in Washington and couldn’t wear a helmet, forcing him to miss the 2019 season.

Now, after three seasons with the 49ers, Williams is playing at an elite level for one of the NFC’s best teams. San Francisco has been one game short of the Super Bowl in the past two seasons.

Could Williams finally be considering retirement after 13 NFL seasons [12 played]?

“It’s a long season,” Williams said, per Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle. “And having two long seasons back-to-back, it does get pretty grueling for a 34-year-old guy like myself. I’ll be 35 when the season starts. You do kind of think about what’s life like after football. I’ve done this every year of my life since the second grade.”

For Washington fans, it’s hard to fathom that Williams will be 35 in 2023. Williams, along with Ryan Kerrigan, were Washington’s top stars for years, playing on multiple bad teams.

“You do get to that age, especially at the end of the year like this, as exhausting as it was,” Williams continued. “And still not getting quite where you want to be. I get it. You get to that age, But, honestly, I’m just taking it one day at time, and we’ll see how that goes going forward.”

It’s difficult to see Williams retiring this offseason, with so many having the lasting image of him slamming a Philadelphia player to the ground in frustration. However, if Williams did retire, ending your career by being named a first-team All-Pro selection for your final two seasons is a terrific way to go out.

Lakers player grades: L.A. escapes New York City with a win

The Lakers finally got a win midway through their five-game road trip, but it wasn’t exactly easy or pretty.

A back-to-back set of games in New York City for the Los Angeles Lakers started with a loss to the Brooklyn Nets on Monday as LeBron James and Anthony Davis were held out.

On Tuesday, they headed across the East River into midtown Manhattan to take on the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden, and both teams treated the crowd to a decent show.

After a somewhat desultory first half, Los Angeles started to turn it on in the third quarter by scoring 34 points. But after taking a seven-point lead midway through the fourth period, it allowed the hometown team to fight back and force overtime.

Rebounding was a problem, as Los Angeles gave up 13 offensive rebounds and 15 second-chance points. It also allowed Jalen Brunson, the Knicks’ newest star, to explode for 37 points.

In overtime, the Lakers took control, outscoring New York, 15-9, to take a 129-123 victory. They badly needed this win, as they have been starting to slip out of the Western Conference playoff picture.

FINAL: Alabama responds after loss with a dominating 101-44 win over Vanderbilt

Alabama basketball bounces back in a big way against Vanderbilt defeating the Commodores 101-44.

If anyone was doubting this Alabama men’s basketball team following the loss this past Saturday to Oklahoma, those thoughts have quickly dissipated following the Tide’s nearly 60-point win over Vanderbilt on Tuesday night inside Coleman Coliseum.

Head coach Nate Oats challenged his team’s effort and intensity following the loss to the Sooners and the talented Tide responded and then some.

Not only was Alabama lethal from the field connecting on 59% of their shots including an impressive 19-41 from three, but the Tide also had an incredible 29 assists in the contest.

The defensive end of the floor is where the game was decided for Alabama. The Tide held the Commodores to just 44 points on 25% shooting.

Freshman sensation Brandon Miller led all scorers with 22 points. A total of 11 different players scored for Alabama on the night.

Next up for the Tide is a road game against LSU on Saturday.

6 options to replace DeMeco Ryans as 49ers defensive coordinator

Here are some options the 49ers could look into as they search for DeMeco Ryans’ replacement:

Replacing DeMeco Ryans might be the hardest, most important thing the 49ers will do this offseason. Their defensive coordinator for the last two years took a job as the Houston Texans’ head coach, leaving a gaping hole atop San Francisco’s No. 1-ranked defense.

While the 49ers’ defensive group is very talented, Ryans’ schematic brilliance and his leadership made him a fast riser in the NFL coaching ranks. They also made him perhaps the NFL’s best defensive coordinator in his first year on the job.

It’s very likely the 49ers’ defense will be the tip of the team’s spear again in 2023, so finding a good defensive coordinator will be paramount to their continued success. They’ve already requested a couple interviews, but a handful of other at least semi-intriguing names linger:

These two former Badgers will play in Super Bowl LVII

These two former Badgers will play in Super Bowl LVII

A pair of former Badgers will play in Super Bowl LVII as former Wisconsin players went 2-0 on the NFL’s conference championship games.

For the Philadelphia Eagles, standout linebacker T.J. Edwards will represent Wisconsin. He had career highs in nearly every statistical category in 2022, headlined by 159 total tackles, a pair of sacks, and a fumble recovery.

For the Kansas City Chiefs, rookie Leo Chenal represents for the Badgers. Chenal was a third-round pick in the 2022 draft, and appeared in 14 regular season games for the Chiefs. He finished the regular season with 35 total tackles as a rookie.

Neither Badger has a Super Bowl victory under their belt, but that will change on February 12.
