CBS Sports ranks Ravens as having top-10 offensive trio

CBS Sports ranked the Ravens as having a top-10 offensive trio

When healthy, the Baltimore Ravens have established themselves as having one of the most high-powered offensive units in the NFL. They use the running game to their advantage, winning up front and executing big runs while also having a solid overall passing game.

When ranking the NFL’s best “offensive triplets”, Jared Dubin of CBS Sports has Baltimore’s trio of quarterback Lamar Jackson, running back J.K. Dobbins and tight end Mark Andrews in the top 10, coming in at No. 8. Dubin explained that the Ravens’ group of players was the lowest out of any team that received a top-five vote, and part of that reflects Jackson’s inconsistencies in 2021. However, he also talked about Andrews’ monster season and the expectation that Dobbins will be Baltimore’s lead ball-carrier in 2022.

“The Ravens are the lowest-ranked of our eight teams that received at least one top-five vote. This ranking reflects a confidence that Jackson’s inconsistency last season was likely the result of injuries to both himself and the offensive line, and that Andrews’ monster season was just the beginning of him solidifying himself as one of the NFL’s best tight ends. Dobbins and Gus Edwards are each coming off torn ACLs, but Dobbins was expected to be the lead ball-carrier last season, so we expect that to be the case in 2022.”

As far as how this might work …

For the Heat to make such an …

For the Heat to make such an acquisition of Zach LaVine, Gozlan says Kyle Lowry would need to be involved: A sign-and-trade sending LaVine to Miami would very likely require Kyle Lowry to be included, because it will be nearly impossible to stay under the hard cap with him along with Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, and LaVine all on max contracts. A package of two-to-three first round picks, along with Lowry and Tyler Herro to match salaries would probably be the framework of such a deal. Although they would be hard capped in this scenario, they’d still have enough flexibility to keep Duncan Robinson and their minimum studs, use the taxpayer mid-level exception, give PJ Tucker a $1.1 million raise, and only sign an additional 3-4 more minimum players afterward.

Ravens TE Mark Andrews shares how he’ll embrace mentor role for rookie TEs

Ravens tight end Mark Andrews explained how he’ll embrace a mentorship role for the rookie tight ends on the roster

The Baltimore Ravens added two tight ends in the 2022 NFL draft, selecting both Iowa State’s Charlie Kolar and Costal Carolina’s Isaiah Likely in the fourth round. They’ll be joining a positional group in Baltimore that already has two very established options in Mark Andrews and Nick Boyle, making the team’s tight end room one of the best in football.

When Andrews was asked about how it felt to hear Kolar say that he watched him growing up and if he was embracing a mentorship role, the veteran made it clear that he’s going to everything he can to help the two rookies thrive at the NFL level.

“It’s humbling. For me, when I came out of the league, there’s certain guys that I really looked at and looked up to. So, for me, to kind of be that type of guy [and] role model, I’m going to everything I can to help both of these young guys – every one of these tight ends – in any way I can, share my knowledge, share what I can do. We have a great room, like I said. It’s going to be scary. We’ve got a lot of tight ends that can play some ball.”

For any young player, gaining knowledge from a player of Andrew’s caliber will help immensely. Both Kolar and Likely have massive amounts of potential, and they’ll have Andrews in their corner as the look to establish themselves as professionals.
