Former Vol Trey Lipscomb returned to the Nationals’ starting lineup at first base. He went 0-for-2, recording one walk and one run.

Former Vol Nick Senzel also started at third base for Washington against the Dodgers. He went 1-for-3 and hit a two-out home run in the second inning.

Washington recalled Lipscomb on Wednesday after placing outfielder Lane Thomas on the 10-day injured list due to a left knee sprain.

Washington will next play on Thursday against the Dodgers at Nationals Park. First pitch is slated for 4:05 p.m. EDT.

Washington recalled former Vol Trey Lipscomb on Wednesday. The Nationals placed outfielder Lane Thomas on the 10-day injured list due to a left knee sprain.

Lipscomb made his Major League Baseball debut for Washington on March 30 after former Vol Nick Snezel was placed on the 10-day injured list ahead of opening day.

The former Vol appeared in 14 games during his first stint with the Nationals before being optioned to Triple-A Rochester Red Wings.

Lipscomb played at Tennessee from 2019-22 and appeared in 103 games, including 78 starts.

He was selected by Washington in the third-round of the 2022 Major League Baseball draft (No. 84 overall).

Former Vol Chase Dollander records 12 strikeouts in third professional appearance.

Former Vol pitcher Chase Dollander made his third professional start on Friday for Spokane.

Dollander pitched 5.1 innings and recorded 12 strikeouts in Spokane’s 5-4 win against Everett. He totaled 93 pitches, including 65 strikes.

The former Vol has recorded 27 strikeouts in three appearances with the Indians.

Spokane competes in the High-A Northwest League as an affiliate of the Rockies.

Dollander was selected in the first-round of the 2023 Major League Baseball draft (No. 9 overall). He played for the Vols from 2022-23.

Dollander (17-6) appeared in 33 games, including 31 starts, for the Vols. He recorded 228 strikeouts, one complete game and a .364 ERA in 168 innings pitched during his Tennessee career.

The former Vol earned 2022 Southeastern Conference Pitcher of the Year and All-America honors. Tennessee won the Southeastern Conference regular-season and tournament championships in 2022.

Former Vol Garrett Crochet makes fifth start for White Sox in 2024.

Philadelphia (12-8) defeated Chicago (3-16), 7-0, on Friday at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Former Vol Garrett Crochet started for the White Sox and pitched three innings. He recorded three strikeouts, while allowing seven earned runs and two walks. Crochet totaled 75 pitches, including 45 strikes.

Crochet was selected by the White Sox in the 2020 Major League Baseball draft (No. 11 overall).

He played for the Vols from 2018-20, appearing in 36 games. Crochet (10-9) recorded 149 strikeouts during his career at Tennessee.

The former Vol went to Tennessee from Ocean Springs High School in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.

Crochet was selected by Milwaukee in the 34th round of the 2017 MLB draft. He signed with the Vols over Texas and Tulane.

The move comes after former Vol Nick Senzel was activated from the 10-day injured listed by the Nationals.

Lipscomb made his Major League Baseball debut with Washington on March 30 after Senzel was placed on the 10-day injured list due to a fractured right thumb.

Senzel made his 2024 debut with the Nationals on Monday at Los Angeles. He started at third base and went 1-for-3 and recorded one walk versus the Dodgers.

Senzel signed a one-year contract with the Nationals during the offseason.

Former Vol Jared Dickey hits first professional home run.

West Michigan defeated Quad Cities, 10-6, on Tuesday at LMCU Ballpark in Comstock Park, Michigan.

Former Vol Jared Dickey started in right field for Quad Cities and went 2-for-4. Dickey hit his first professional career home run and recorded two RBIs, one run and five total bases.

Quad Cities competes in the Midwest League and is a High-A affiliate of the Royals.

Dickey played at Tennessee from 2021-23. He redshirted with the Vols in 2021.

Dickey appeared in 103 games, including 86 starts, at Tennessee. The former Vol recorded a .343 batting average, 19 home runs, 71 RBIs, 84 runs, 40 walks and 10 stolen bases.

He was selected by Kansas City in the 11th round of the 2023 Major League Baseball draft (No. 319 overall).

Lipscomb played at Tennessee from 2019-22 and appeared in 103 games, including 78 starts.

He recorded a .331 batting average, 24 home runs, 103 RBIs, 83 runs, 37 walks and seven stolen bases for the Vols. During the 2022 campaign, he became the first Vol since Cody Hawn (22) in 2009 to hit 20-plus home runs in a season.

Lipscomb appeared in 66 games in his final season at Tennessee in 2022. He totaled 22 home runs, 84 RBIs, 68 runs, 89 hits, 19 doubles, three triples, 26 walks and four stolen bases.

Tennessee won the Southeastern Conference East division, the league regular-season and tournament championships in 2022.

He was selected by Washington in the third-round of the 2022 Major League Baseball draft (No. 84 overall).
