Bulls’ Alex Caruso reveals mindset moving forward after injury

After his injury in the Chicago Bulls’ win over the Miami Heat, Alex Caruso revealed his mindset regarding the issue.

The Chicago Bulls destroyed the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday night. Led by Coby White’s 42 points, the Bulls pulled out a victory and earned themselves a date with the Miami Heat on Friday night. The two teams will battle it out, and the winner will play the Boston Celtics in the first round of the NBA Playoffs.

Unfortunately for the Bulls, they suffered a setback during the game. Andre Drummond collided with Alex Caruso, stepping on his foot in the process. Caruso is now dealing with an ankle injury, and while there’s some optimism that he could play against the Heat, it’s still going to be a storyline to monitor.

After the game, Caruso revealed his mentality regarding the injury: Play until he can’t anymore. (H/t Paul Sullivan of the Chicago Tribune)

“My mindset will be to play until my body tells me I can’t,” Caruso said.

Caruso is a warrior, and he’s not going to sit idly by and watch his team fight without him.

Bulls Injury Report: Bitim out for postseason, Dosunmu return hopeful

The Chicago Bulls are dealing with some injuries heading into the Play-In, including ones to Onuralp Bitim and Ayo Dosunmu.

This season has been defined by injuries for the Chicago Bulls. Zach LaVine is out for the year, as he got surgery on his foot, and Patrick Williams is also out for the remainder of the season. Now, as the Bulls prepare for the Play-In Tournament, they are facing a couple more injuries that could affect them.

Onuralp Bitim, whose contract was converted from a two-way deal to a multi-year contract back in February, suffered a detached retina. He will be out for the postseason. Meanwhile, Ayo Dosunmu is dealing with a quadriceps issue, but there is hope that he will be good to go for the Bulls’ potential postseason run, starting with the Play-In.

The Chicago Bulls Central YouTube channel recently discussed both of these injuries and how they could impact the Bulls.

In addition to those two, Andre Drummond is questionable for the Play-In game due to a left ankle sprain, and rookie Julian Phillips is out with a midfoot sprain.

Lonzo Ball’s return from injury changes everything for Bulls

The return of Lonzo Ball should change everything for the Chicago Bulls.

The Chicago Bulls have had a brutal few seasons. After going all-in on a core of DeMar DeRozan, Zach LaVine, and Nikola Vucevic, they have won just a single playoff game with those three guys leading the way. A big part of the Bulls’ lack of success has been the absence of point guard Lonzo Ball.

Ball has been out of action for over two years now. When he was healthy at the start of the 2021-22 season, the Bulls were one of the more surprising teams in the East. Since he’s been out, they’ve been painfully mediocre. However, recent rumblings have indicated that he could try to return next season.

The GETLIKECOOP YouTube channel recently discussed how the return of Ball could change everything for the Bulls.

While getting Ball back will certainly help the Bulls, there should be questions as to whether or not he will be the same player he was when he first joined Chicago.

Report: ‘Growing buzz’ Lonzo Ball will try to play next season

There has been a “growing buzz” that Lonzo Ball will try to return to the court for the Chicago Bulls next season.

According to KC Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago, there is a “growing buzz” that Lonzo Ball will try to play next season. The Chicago Bulls brought Lonzo Ball on board in the summer of 2021, but after an injury in early 2022 took him out, he hasn’t been back on the court since. It’s been over two years of him being sidelined.

This year, there have been a few positive updates regarding his injury recovery process, but still no signs of him making a return. Now, it’s looking like the Bulls could potentially get him back on the court next year. The real question is, will he look like a shell of his former self?

When Ball was healthy at the start of the 2021-22 season, the Bulls were one of the most surprising teams in the league. They made the playoffs that year as the sixth seed and took a game off the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round.

Since then, Chicago has been stuck in the middle of the pack in the East. Getting Ball back should help, but he likely won’t be the same player he was pre-injury. At least, not right away.

Bulls star Zach LaVine provides update on foot surgery

Chicago Bulls star Zach LaVine recently spoke about his foot surgery.

The Chicago Bulls will almost certainly end the season in the Play-In Tournament. They’ll have a shot at making the playoffs, but they undoubtedly had higher hopes than that result coming into the season. And while a lot of their struggles had to do with their middling on-court play, they also ran into some tough injury luck.

In addition to sporadic injuries that caused players to miss time, Zach LaVine dealt with some long-term issues throughout the course of the season. He ultimately had to have surgery on his foot at the beginning of February, causing him to miss the remainder of the season.

In a video posted by Darnell Mayberry of The Athletic, LaVine recently discussed his decision to have surgery and how he’s been doing since then. (H/t Elias Schuster of Bleacher Nation)

“It sucked, man. I was trying to figure out every way not to – you never want to have surgery. But I got to a conclusion, especially with what the doctor was telling me, ‘your pain level, and this thing isn’t going to heal on its own,’” LaVine said. “It was a bone that was floating around. It’s known as a non-union jones fracture, which I was dealing with for a while. I was happy to find him, and he told me, ‘You need to get it done sooner than later.’”

Getting healthy is, and always should be, LaVine’s top priority, especially when it comes to the long-term outlook of his career.

Reacting to ‘the best Lonzo Ball news’ since his injury two years ago

The Chicago Bulls have finally gotten some positive Lonzo Ball injury news.

At the beginning of the 2021-22 season, the Chicago Bulls were one of the most exciting teams in the NBA. Their hot start had them as one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference, and Lonzo Ball’s play was a big part of that, as the point guard was one of the best 3-and-D guards in the NBA.

Unfortunately, an injury has sidelined Ball since 2022, and he’s now missed over two years of NBA action. After bad update after bad update, there was finally some positive injury news regarding Ball. He has reportedly been cleared for “advanced rehab activities” and is making progress toward a return.

The Bulls Central YouTube channel recently discussed the news, calling it the best news regarding Ball since he went down with the injury two years ago.

Getting Ball back would completely change the way the Bulls look on both ends of the court. To be at their best, they need him.

Report: Lonzo Ball cleared for ‘advanced rehab activities’

Chicago Bulls point guard Lonzo Ball has been cleared for advanced rehab activities.

According to KC Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago, Lonzo Ball has been officially cleared for “advanced rehab activities.” The Chicago Bulls point guard hasn’t appeared in an NBA game since 2022. He’s undergone multiple surgeries since then, and there has even been some speculation that he may never play again.

However, Ball has continuously worked toward a return, despite an overall lack of progress. But now, it’s looking like he’s inching closer than ever to a return. When Ball was on the court, the Bulls were one of the most intriguing teams in the league, but since he’s been out, they’ve been painfully average.

Head coach Billy Donovan spoke about the progress Ball has been making.

“Some of the workouts have been really, really positive and he has progressed,” Donovan said. “He has responded well. Some of the things that medical guys have shown me is he looks good moving. I’m just really happy for him personally for his progress. He has worked hard to put himself in this position. And hopefully, he can continue to progress.”

Getting Ball back next season would be huge for Chicago.

Should the Chicago Bulls give up on a Lonzo Ball return?

We have been down this road before, only to see ourselves be disappointed with yet another setback.

Patrick Williams on Bulls future after news of season-ending surgery

Chicago Bulls forward Patrick Williams discussed his future with the team after the announcement that he will have season-ending surgery.

The Chicago Bulls’ lack of movement at the trade deadline drew a ton of criticism from fans, but on top of that, the team has also dealt with some bad luck this season. In addition to losing Zach LaVine for the rest of the season, it was recently announced that Patrick Williams is set to have season-ending surgery on his left foot.

To make matters more interesting, Williams is in the final year of his contract and will need a new contract this summer. Now, he’ll be left to negotiate after missing the final stretch of the season post-All-Star break.

Following the news, Williams spoke at length about his future with the team. (H/t KC Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago)

“I don’t think anybody knows what their future is to be honest,” Williams said. “I would love to continue to be a Bull. I love it here. I love the opportunity we have to build culture, to build something special with this group and this team. I think I could really be a cornerstone piece for this team. But you never know what the future holds, and I understand it’s a business. Like I said, I love it here. I love the team. I love the guys. I love the front office. For now, worry about the surgery and getting back playing and let the chips fall where they may. . . . Nobody has really even talked about contract stuff. It’s more so about getting me back healthy, which I appreciate.”

Will Williams still be on the Bulls next season?

Chicago Bulls forward Patrick Williams to have season ending surgery

Will Chicago get an additional boost from playing prospects deeper in the rotation as they did with Coby White?

If you thought that the Chicago Bulls were down bad when they lost Zach LaVine to a foot injury for the rest of the NBA’s 2023-24 season earlier this month, well — the basketball gods just said, “Hold my beer.”

Word on the street is that yet another key member of the Bulls’ rotation to a foot injury, this time forward Patrick Williams. Initially set to be re-evaluated in a few weeks, a second look at his injury by the team convinced them that his stress fracture had worsened enough that surgery was the proper course of action for the Charlotte native.

Will Chicago get an additional boost from playing prospects deeper in the rotation as they did with Coby White in LaVine’s case? After signing wing Onuralp Bitim to a full roster spot, that seems to be the plan.

The folks behind the CHGO Sports’ “CHGO Bulls” show took a closer look at this mess and what it means for Chicago moving forward. Check it out above!
