Saturday was the worst day of 2020 for Florida. Here are five reasons why

When I woke up on Saturday, Dec. 12, and began my editorial duties here at Gators Wire, the day was full of hope and promise. By the time the clock struck midnight, what I had hoped would be a day akin to a glamorous royal carriage instead turned into a rotten pumpkin.

The pain did not just present itself on the playing field or the parquet for Florida, it also came in the form of its star men’s basketball player collapsing on the court and being sent to the hospital in critical condition. The brutal loss to the LSU Tigers in The Swamp also dashed the aspirations of the team and its quarterback as a tumultuous regular season came to a close.

This past year simply has not been great for a majority of people but things seemingly came to a head this weekend for Gators fans. Let us take a closer look at the five things that made Saturday the worst day of 2020.
