Here’s where Tre Mann stands on CBS Sports’ draft board

This CBS Sports’ draft board isn’t as high on Florida’s Tre Mann as some other projections are.

With the 2021 NBA draft on the horizon, Florida’s seven-year drought of drafted players is finally expected to end with point guard Tre Mann. He’s considered a first-round prospect by many after a breakout sophomore season in which his scoring average nearly tripled and he led the team in scoring.

Though most mocks and draft boards show Mann as one of the better point guards available, the latest board from CBS Sports isn’t as high on him as some others are. He ranks just 31st overall on the board and ninth among point guards.

Mann is thought to have an outside shot of even becoming a lottery pick, but it seems this CBS projection doesn’t think that’s a possibility, as it actually grades him as a second-round prospect.

He didn’t really start to produce until later in the season, so it wouldn’t be surprising if his limited production for most of his college career is a red flag. But there are also a lot of other reasons to like Mann. He has great size with his 6-foot-5-inch frame, which gives him the ability to play as a combo guard.

This opens the door for more teams to take him than would be interested in a pure point guard, and could help raise his stock even if there are other question marks about him as a prospect.

The 2021 NBA draft takes place on July 29, and Mann should have a new home relatively early in the night.
