We get a 12-round WBA featherweight title bout when Can Xu and Leigh Wood meet at Fight Camp from Brentwood, England. The fight’s expected to start approximately 2 p.m. ET. The fight is televised on DAZN. Below, we break down the Xu vs. Wood odds, with boxing picks and predictions.
Xu is a powerful boxer that will be looking to keep his featherweight strap. He won by unanimous decision last time out at the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, Calif., against Manny Robles III, and he dumped Shun Kubo in a Round 6 TKO in Fuzhou, China before that. Xu enters on a 15-bout win streak, and he will be looking to wow the judges not just with his technical skill, but his tremendous punching power.
Wood is looking to pull the upset, but “Leigh-thal” doesn’t have a ton of experience fighting top-notch boxers. This will easily be the Englishman’s biggest test. He was able to rebound from a majority-decision loss to James Dickens at Bethnal Green Feb. 21, 2020, topping Reece Mould at Wembley last time out in a ninth-round TKO victory. His fight history is not exactly a who’s who of the division, though, and he hopes to change that against Xu.

Can Xu vs. Leigh Wood: Odds, predictions and picks
Xu (-350) has outstanding punching power, but he has lacked a high volume of finishes during his career. He lets opponents hang around, but he wows the judges with the technical aspects they like to see. As such, he is going to win this one, but the best bet is XU CAN ON POINTS (+125) rather than just playing the 2-way line straight up.
Can Xu vs. Leigh Wood best bet
If you want action on the length of this bout, without actually declaring a winner, then 11 ROUNDS OR MORE (-175) is your play. Xu just doesn’t knock people out, and Wood isn’t going to sniff a victory here. He is going to be overmatched, and the judges will see it that way.
In addition, playing YES (-135): WILL THE FIGHT GO THE FULL 12 ROUNDS? is also a suggested play, and one I’ll be playing myself in person at the Mirage in Las Vegas Saturday morning. Gotta put your money where your mouth…err, typing…is, right?
