Vikings open up as 3.5-point favorites in Week 13 vs. Jets

The line is slightly smaller than it was last week

The Minnesota Vikings end their three-game homestand against the New York Jets on Sunday afternoon. For the second-straight week, the Vikings are only slight favorites at home with Tipico Sportsbook. having the purple and gold as 3.5-point favorites.

The spread being so close makes some sense. The Jets just improved their record to 7-4 with a 31-10 walloping of the Chicago Bears. They are currently third in the AFC but only one game behind the Miami Dolphins and the Buffalo Bills.

A win for the Vikings would give them an undefeated record over an AFC division in a single season since 1998 where the only regular season loss was to their NFC Central foe Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

A win for the Vikings would also get them one step closer to a division title, as they can clinch with a win and a Detroit Lions loss.

Vikings open as 3-point favorite for Week 11 vs. New England

The spread is a close one for Thanksgiving night

After losing to the Dallas Cowboys 40-3 on Sunday afternoon, the sportsbooks didn’t overcorrect as the Vikings are currently three-point favorites per Tipico Sportsbook.

Vegas having this as just a three-point spread signals that they view these two are very similar teams and it would be a near-even spread on a neutral field.

It’s easy to see why this would be considered a close spread. The Patriots’ defense is incredible, ranking at near the top in multiple categories and having the top sack artist in the league in Matt Judon.

The Vikings currently sit 4-5-1 against the spread with an even record of 2-2 at home. This could be a game where the spread ends up mattering due to the Vikings playing in seven one-score games so far this season.

The Patriots are 6-4 against the spread this season after their win over the New York Jets on Sunday, but they are better on the road with a record of 3-1-1.

The game looks to be a very good one on Thursday night.

Vikings could be first home underdog with 8-1 record since 1976

The Vikings aren’t getting enough respect from the sportsbooks

The Minnesota Vikings opened up as a two-point underdog to the Dallas Cowboys this upcoming Sunday, per Tipico Sportsbook, and that line could make history.

[lawrence-related id=68900]

According to ESPN Stats and Info, if the Vikings remain an underdog, it would be the first time since 1976 that a home team with an 8-1 record or better would be an underdog that had its starting quarterback.

It feels like the Vikings are getting a little too much disrespect from the sportsbooks, but the Cowboys are a very good football team and will present a very tough challenge for the Vikings.

There is still time for the line to shift in the Vikings’ favor, but it would be asking a lot to see the line shift by more than two points at this point in the week.

Vikings open up as 2 point underdogs for Week 11 vs. Cowboys

The Vikings aren’t getting respect from the sportsbooks

After a statement win against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday afternoon, the Minnesota Vikings aren’t getting respect from the sportsbooks as Tipico Sportsbook has them as a two-point underdog to the 6-3 Dallas Cowboys.

The line signifies that the Cowboys would be a 4-5 point favorite on a neutral field and about 7-8 points at AT&T Stadium in Texas.

This is honestly a little disrespectful to a Vikings team that is currently 8-1 and just beat a consensus top-three team on the road. The Cowboys also just lost to the lowly Green Bay Packers this past Sunday in overtime, a game in which they led in the fourth quarter by 14 points.

The game will kick off at 3:25 central time on CBS and will be nationally televised.

Vikings vs. Bills spread drops to 3.5 points

The betting odds have seen a significant shift

The Minnesota Vikings saw the line open up as high as 9.5 and Tipico Sportsbook had the line at 7.5 as of Sunday night.

[lawrence-related id=68679]

As of Wednesday morning, the line had dropped all the way down to 3.5 points with the Bills still as the favorite.

The line movement is almost certainly tied to Josh Allen’s injury status. The only time the line moves that drastically is if there is an injury and almost every time it involves the quarterback position.

[lawrence-related id=68759][lawrence-related id=68712]

The status of Allen is still up in the air but the sharps don’t believe he will play. The first sign of a star player being out is usually reflected in the betting lines.

This will be something to continue to monitor as, without Allen, the sportsbooks have this close to a toss-up on a neutral field.

Vikings open up as 7.5-point underdogs in Week 10 vs. Bills

The Vikings will be an underdog for the second time this season

The Minnesota Vikings open up as a 7.5-point underdog when they travel to Buffalo to take on the Bills per Tipico Sportsbook.

Heading into week 10, the Vikings have the second-best record at 7-1 and the Bills have the third at 6-2. The Bills lost to division rival New York Jets 20-17 at Met Life Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

[lawrence-related id=68573]

On the season, the Vikings currently sit at 3-5 against the spread and this is only the second time that they have been an underdog. The only other game they were an underdog was in week two against the Philadelphia Eagles who they lost to 24-7.

The Bills are now 4-3-1 against the spread failing to cover against the Packers by just 0.5 points and lost to the Jets, where they were also 10.5 point favorites.

Despite the large spread, it should be a very competitive game in Buffalo.

Vikings open up as 4.5 point favorites in Week 7 vs Cardinals

The Vikings open as early favorites over the Cardinals

The Minnesota Vikings come out of their bye week to play a home game against the Arizona Cardinals and Tipico Sportsbook as a 4.5-point favorite.

The Vikings are currently 3-0 at home on the season with two come-from-behind wins. Against the spread, the Vikings are 2-4 this season with a 1-2 record at home.

The Cardinals enter the games as a 3-4 football team. They are at their best on the road where they currently have a 2-1 record on the season.

Against the spread is even better for Kliff Kingsbury’s team. They are 4-3 overall but only 1-2 against the spread.

The over/under for this game is at 49.5 and both teams have been better at hitting the under this season. The Cardinals are 4-2-1 with the under and the Vikings also have four wins at 4-2.

The game kicks off on Sunday afternoon at 12:00 pm central.

Vikings open as 3.5-point favorites in Week 6 vs Dolphins

The Vikings are a decent-size favorite over the Dolphins on Sunday

The Minnesota Vikings enter week six with a record of 4-1 and head to Miami as a considerable road favorite at 3.5 points this Sunday afternoon per Tipico Sportsbook.

In truly impressive fashion, the Vikings have lost each of their last three games against the spread by 0.5 points. Last week’s loss against the spread makes the Vikings record 1-4. They are better hitting the over, having done so in each of the last three games.

The Dolphins are on the other end of the spectrum. Their record both straight up and against the spread is the same at 3-2 while the under has hit in three of their last five.

The line skewing toward the Vikings is mainly due to the Dolphins having issues at the quarterback position. The Dolphins might be in line to start third-string quarterback Skylar Thompson due to both Tua Tagovailoa and Teddy Bridgewater being in concussion protocol.

Vikings open up as 7.5-point favorite in Week 5 vs Bears

The Vikings are heavy favorites on Sunday

The Minnesota Vikings opened up as a 7.5-point favorite against the NFC North division rival Chicago Bears per Tipico Sportsbook.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise considering the Vikings are 3-1 on the season and have a lot more talent on the roster.

So far this season, the Vikings are 1-3 against the spread but lost their last two games by 0.5 points each week. That isn’t something that you see too often but it is impressive.

On the other hand, the over has hit in the Vikings’ last two contests with last week’s game hitting the over by 6.5 points.

The Bears enter this game with a surprising 2-2 record and also have a record against the spread of 2-2 with their ATS record matching their overall record.

This past week, Justin Fields had the lowest passing yardage prop ever recorded for a starting NFL quarterback at 145.5. He did hit the over but the Bears have been historically poor at passing the football. They will also likely be missing starting guard Cody Whitehair due to an ankle injury.

The Bears and Vikings kick off on Sunday at noon central.

The Vikings open as a 2.5-point favorite vs the Saints

The opening line favors the Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings open up as a 2.5-point favorite per Tipico Sportsbook over the New Orleans Saints in London Sunday morning.

Even though the Saints are considered the home team, this game is being viewed by the sportsbooks as a neutral site as both teams are relatively equidistant from London.

The Vikings are 1-2 against the spread this season with their last two games having been losses while the Saints are 0-3 with their only straight-up win coming in a last-minute drive against the Falcons.

The game will come down to who wins in the trenches. The Vikings offensive line is one of the most-improved units in the National Football League and the Saints have a great one themselves. The winner in the trenches will be the team to take home the victory in London.
