WNBA Finals Game 4: Las Vegas Aces at New York Liberty odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Las Vegas Aces at New York Liberty Game 4 odds and lines, with WNBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Las Vegas Aces and New York Liberty meet Wednesday for Game 4 of their WNBA Finals best-of-5 playoff matchup. Tipoff from Barclays Center in Brooklyn is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Aces vs. Liberty Game 4 odds, and make our expert WNBA picks and predictions.

WNBA Finals series: Aces lead 2-1

The Aces had a chance to eliminate the Liberty in Game 3, but New York stayed alive with an 87-73 victory as a 1.5-point underdog. Las Vegas is now 0-2 against the spread (ATS) in 2 road playoff games, with the Under cashing in each of those outings. Las Vegas is averaging just 69.5 points per game (PPG) in those 2 road playoff games, too.

The big news is that the Aces will be missing 2 starters for Game 4. Aces G Chelsea Gray, the 2022 WNBA Finals MVP, and C Kiah Stokes are both out with foot injuries.

Gray, who is averaging 15.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 7.3 assists per game in the Finals, exited Game 3 with her injury in the 4th quarter. Stokes, who had 9 rebounds in Game 3 and is averaging 2.7 points and 6.7 rebounds in the Finals, isn’t sure when she hurt her foot. She is averaging 2.8 points and 7.9 rebound in the postseason.

The Liberty snapped an 0-3 ATS skid in Game 3, and the Under (172) cashed Sunday to snap a 5-0 Over run. New York is still 2-6 ATS in the past 8 games overall. The Liberty have scored 84 or more points in 4 of 5 home games in these playoffs.

Game 4: Aces at Liberty picks and predictions

Prediction

Aces 83, Liberty 80

Moneyline

The ACES (+194) were favorites in Game 3, and they ended up laying an egg as the Liberty extended their season. Now, the shoe is on the other foot, and Las Vegas is a giant value as a moderate underdog.

The line has moved in the Liberty’s favor with the injuries to the Aces’ Gray and Stokes, and many expect the home team to cruise in this one.

I’m predicting Las Vegas will thwart the doubters and successfully defend last season’s title with a win Wednesday.

Behind star F A’ja Wilson (20.3 PPG, 11.3 RPG in the Finals) and G’s Kelsey Plum (26.0 PPG, 3.7 assists per game) and Jackie Young (19.3 PPG, 5.3 RPG, 4.3 APG), the Aces pull this off.

Yes, the Aces have struggled in the postseason on the road, going just 1-1 SU and 0-2 ATS. But they’re also a high-octane offense, and they’ll get the bounce-back in Game 4, hoisting the trophy once again.

Against the spread

If you can’t bring yourself to play the Aces on the moneyline to win straight up, at least play LAS VEGAS +5.5 (-104) to keep it within 3 buckets.

There is risk as the Aces are 1-6 ATS in the past 7 road games. However, the Liberty are just 1-4 ATS in the past 5 home outings. Las Vegas is 19-8 ATS in the past 27 meetings, too.

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under

The UNDER 169.5 (-114) is worth playing in Game 4. The intensity will be ratcheted up to an all-time high, and it’s a good idea to buck most of the trends.

The Over has cashed in 10 of the past 14 in the series, while cashing in 4 of the past 5 in New York. But that lone Under was in Game 3.

WNBA Finals Game 3: Las Vegas Aces at New York Liberty odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Las Vegas Aces at New York Liberty Game 3 odds and lines, with WNBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Las Vegas Aces and New York Liberty meet Sunday for Game 3 of their WNBA Finals best-of-5 playoff matchup. Tip-off from Barclays Center in Brooklyn is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET (ABC). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Aces vs. Liberty Game 3 odds, and make our expert WNBA picks and predictions.

WNBA Finals Series: Aces lead 2-0

The Liberty crapped out in Vegas like many travelers before them, losing each of the 1st 2 games in the series, then taking the long flight home with empty pockets.

Las Vegas rolled up a 99-82 win as 4.5-point favorites in Game 1 as the Over (170) cashed. It got worse in Game 2, as the Aces thumped the Liberty 104-76 to cash as 4.5-point favorites, and the Over (170.5) cashed yet again.

The Aces are an impressive 7-0 SU in the postseason, covering 5 of the outings, while the Over is 3-1-1 in the past 5 games overall. The Aces went on the road just once so far in this postseason, winning just 64-61 at Dallas in the West semifinals, failing to cover as the Under connected.

The Liberty hope being home will keep their season, and championship hopes, alive. New York has failed to cover the past 3 games overall, while going just 1-6 ATS in the past 7 outings. At home, New York is 3-1 SU in these playoffs, while going just 1-3 ATS. The Over has cashed in 5 straight games for the Liberty.

Game 3: Aces at Liberty odds

Provided by FanDuel Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated Saturday at 10:46 p.m. ET.

  • Moneyline (ML): Aces -130 (bet $130 to win $100) | Liberty +106 (bet $100 to win $106)
  • Against the spread (ATS): Aces -1.5 (-114) | Liberty +1.5 (-105)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 171.5 (O: -111 | U: -115)

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3012″ ]

Game 3: Aces at Liberty picks and predictions

Prediction

Liberty 84, Aces 81

Moneyline

The LIBERTY (+106) have some pride, and it will come out in Game 3 as New York is able to extend their season.

There hasn’t been a lot of competitiveness in this series, but New York is hopeful a change of venue will change its fortunes. The Liberty have won 3 of 4 games at home in this postseason.

It won’t be easy, but the Liberty should be able to stave off elimination and force a Game 4.

Against the spread

If you like the Liberty +1.5 (-105) to bounce back and force a Game 4, then playing the moneyline makes a lot more sense than taking a point and a half.

AVOID, and just take New York straight up.

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under

The UNDER 171.5 (-115) is worth a look. If New York is going to extend its season, it needs to take the air out of the ball and slow things down. The Aces have gotten out and run, and averaged 101.5 PPG in 2 games in this series.

The last time, and only time, the Aces have been on the road, the Wings slowed it down and held the high-flying Aces to just 64 points. New York needs to scour the film and repeat that strategy.

WNBA Finals Game 2: New York Liberty at Las Vegas Aces odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s New York Liberty at Las Vegas Aces Game 2 odds and lines, with WNBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The New York Liberty and Las Vegas Aces meet Wednesday for Game 2 of their WNBA Finals best-of-5 playoff matchup. Tip-off from Michelob Ultra Arena at Mandalay Bay is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Liberty vs. Aces Game 2 odds, and make our expert WNBA picks and predictions.

The Liberty was a huge thorn in the side of the Aces during the regular season, but Las Vegas fired out to a 1-0 series lead with a 99-82 victory over New York in Game 1 on Sunday.

The Liberty hit 46.4% (32 of 69) from the field, while going 31.0% (9 of 29) from behind the arc. They turned it over 11 times. F Jonquel Jones went for 16 points and 10 rebounds in her 34 minutes, misfiring all 3 times on treys. F Breanna Stewart hit 21 points with 9 boards and 2 assists.

Liberty G Sabrina Ionescu continued to struggle in the postseason, going just 2 of 7 from the floor, ending up with 7 points in 34 minutes. She is 5 of 15 (33.3%) from the field, averaging just 8.0 PPG in the past 2 games.

The Aces were an impressive 54.7% (35 of 64) from the floor, while knocking down 40.9% (9 of 22) from behind the 3-point line. And Las Vegas got it done at the free-throw line, hitting 87.0% (20 of 23). The Aces also  turned it over 11 times.

Aces F A’ja Wilson was actually the 4th-highest scorer for Vegas with 19 points, as G Chelsea Gray, G Kelsey Plum and G Jackie Young each went for 20 or more points and 5 or more rebounds, while combining for 9 triples.

Game 2: Liberty at Aces odds

  • Moneyline (ML): Liberty +180 (bet $100 to win $180) | Aces -225 (bet $225 to win $100)
  • Against the spread (ATS): Liberty +5.5 (-114) | Aces -5.5 (-105)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 171.5 (O: -113 | U: -113)

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3012″ ]

Game 2: Liberty at Aces picks and predictions

Prediction

Aces 93, Liberty 84

Moneyline

The Aces (-225) will cost you more than 2 times your potential return in Game 2, as Vegas looks to push the Liberty (+180) to the brink of elimination. However, as solid as Las Vegas is on its home floor, you can’t risk this much for so little.

AVOID.

Against the spread

The ACES -5.5 (-105) are a strong play in Game 2 after racking up the 17-point win in the series opener.

Vegas is on a roll in the postseason, going a perfect 6-0 straight up, while covering the number in 4 of the past 6 outings. The Aces are hitting on all cylinders offensively, too, going for 87 or more points in 5 of the 6 playoff games to date.

The Liberty +5.5 (-114) are one of the only teams in the WNBA to hang with Vegas, but it needs all hands on deck, and Ionescu, one of the team’s biggest weapons, has struggled lately.

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under

The OVER 171.5 (-113) is the lean. It easily cashed in Game 1, with 181 combined points on a total of 170. As a result, the books have slid the number up slightly.

The Over is 2-1-1 in the past 4 playoff games for the Aces, while going 4-for-4 in the past 4 postseason outings for the Liberty. Look for both teams to get it done offensively and put on a show.

New York Liberty at Connecticut Sun Game 3 odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s New York Liberty at Connecticut Sun Game 3 odds and lines, with WNBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The New York Liberty and Connecticut Sun meet Friday for Game 3 of their WNBA semifinals playoff matchup. The best-of-5 series is tied 1-1. Tip-off from Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET (ESPN2). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Liberty vs. Sun Game 3 odds, and make our expert WNBA picks and predictions.

New York suffered a 78-63 setback in Game 1 on its home court, but it bounced back Tuesday with an 84-77 win in Game 2. Connecticut has covered the first 2 games in the series, as an 8.5-point and 9.5-point underdog, respectively.

After shooting just 34% in Game 1, the Liberty bounced back to hit 45% (29 of 65) from the field in Game 2, while hitting 38% (10 of 26) from behind the 3-point line and a perfect 100% (16 of 16) from the free-throw line.

The Sun turned it over just 9 times in Game 2, but it hit just 40% (27 of 68) from the field. G Tiffany Hayes was 1 of just 3 players to go for double-digit totals in Game 2 as she poured in 30 points in Game 2, including 5 triples.

Liberty at Sun Game 3 picks and predictions

Prediction

Sun 80, Liberty 76

Moneyline

The SUN (+142) are worth a roll of the dice in Game 3, as they look to push the Liberty to the brink of elimination.

While New York won both of the regular-season meetings in Connecticut, the most recent meeting was just a 5-point overtime victory.

Against the spread

The SUN +3.5 (-105) is worth a look in this pivotal Game 3. Connecticut has covered 5 of the past 7 meetings at home against New York and it is 5-0 ATS in the past 5 games following a straight-up loss. The Sun are also 16-5-1 ATS in the past 22 games when playing on 2 days of rest.

The Liberty are 2-7 ATS in the past 9 when playing on 2 days of rest and are 0-4 ATS in the past 4 after a straight-up win.

Over/Under

The UNDER 159.5 (-113) is the lean in Game 3.

The Under hit in Game 1, and the Over cashed in Game 2. The Under is 10-4 in the past 14 meetings between these squads and is 13-6-1 in the past 20 battles at Mohegan Sun Arena.

The Under is also 10-4 in the past 14 games for the Sun in the Semifinals round, while cashing at a 4-1 clip in the past 5 games when playing on 2 days of rest.

Connecticut Sun at New York Liberty Game 2 odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Connecticut Sun at New York Liberty Game 2 odds and lines, with WNBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Connecticut Sun and New York Liberty meet Tuesday for Game 2 of their WNBA semifinals playoff matchup. Tip-off from Barclays Center is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Sun vs. Liberty Game 1 odds, and make our expert WNBA picks and predictions.

The Sun lead the best-of-5 series 1-0 after Connecticut stunned New York 78-63 in Game 1 on Sunday, winning outright as an 8.5-point underdog as the Under (163) cashed.

Connecticut was led by Dewanna Bonner, who posted 20 points with 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 blocked shots. The Sun shot 45% (31 of 69) from the field, while shooting 80% (8 of 10) at the free-throw line, and turning it over just 8 times.

New York shot a dismal 34% (23 of 68) from the field, and it turned the ball over 14 times. That was the difference. Star Sabrina Ionescu struggled, too, misfiring on 10 of her 14 shot attempts, although she did bag four 3-pointers. Breanna Stewart was also off, hitting just 7 of 25 from the field, including 0 for 8 from behind the arc.

Sun at Liberty Game 2 odds

  • Against the spread (ATS): Sun +8.5 (-104) | Liberty -8.5 (-118)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 161.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Sun at Liberty Game 2 picks and predictions

Prediction

Liberty 88, Sun 76

Moneyline

The Liberty (-450) will cost you 4 1/2 times your potential return, and that’s just too much risk for not enough reward. And Game 1 should serve as a cautionary tale why you shouldn’t bet such strong favorites, especially in a singular bet, as 1 loss can wipe out several wins.

PASS.

Against the spread

The LIBERTY -8.5 (-118) is a strong play to bounce back and square the series before heading up Interstate 95 to Mohegan Sun Arena for Game 3 later this week.

New York has failed to cover the past 2 games, and it is just 1-5 ATS in the past 6 outings overall. There is risk here. But the Liberty is an impressive 6-2 ATS in the past 8 games following a straight-up loss. Look for the big stars for the Lib to rebound for a win and cover.

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under

The OVER 161.5 (-110) is worth a look, but go lightly, and play a half-unit at most.

We saw the Under cash in Game 1, as the Liberty couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn. I expect the shooting to be much better for the home side in Game 2. The Over is 4-0 in the past 4 games for New York following a non-cover, and the Over is still 4-1 in the past 5 games at home despite the Under result.

Washington Mystics at New York Liberty Game 1 odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Washington Mystics at New York Liberty Game 1 odds and lines, with WNBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

In Game 1 of the 1st-round of the WNBA playoffs, the Washington Mystics and New York Liberty meet Friday at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET (ESPN2). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Mystics vs. Liberty odds, and make our expert WNBA picks and predictions.

The Mystics ended the regular season with a 19-21 record, identical to the Minnesota Lynx, but they lost 2 of 3 regular-season games to Minnesota and as a result, must face the high-octane Liberty in the 1st round of the playoffs.

Washington won 2 of its final 3 games of the regular season, including a 90-88 win at New York in the finale Sunday as a 10.5-point underdog. The Over (162.5) cashed in that game, too, and the upset has to be fresh on the minds of the Liberty.

The Mystics were a thorn in the side of the Liberty all season, as the teams split the 4-game regular-season series, while Washington was 4-0 against the spread (ATS). One of the outright losses on June 25 was an 89-88 setback in overtime. The Over has cashed in the past 3 meetings.

Mystics at Liberty Game 1 odds

  • Moneyline (ML): Mystics +375 (bet $100 to win $375) | Liberty -500 (bet $500 to win $100)
  • Against the spread (ATS): Mystics +9.5 (-115) | Liberty -9.5 (-105)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 162.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Mystics at Liberty Game 1 picks and predictions

Prediction

Liberty 88, Mystics 81

Moneyline

The Liberty (-500) played well all throughout the season, they won the Commissioner’s Cup, and New York made a late run to challenge Las Vegas for the top overall seed.

However, for all of that work, New York now must face the team which arguably gave it the most trouble all season. It’s a risky bet anytime to wager 5 times your potential return, but especially so here.

AVOID.

Against the spread

The MYSTICS +9.5 (-115) are the play in Game 1 of this best-of-3 series. The Liberty -9.5 (-105) split the regular-season series with Washington, but the Mystics covered in all 4 games, and 5 straight meetings overall dating back to last season.

The Liberty actually failed to cover in their final 3 regular-season games after an impressive 10-2 ATS run in 11 regular-season games and the Commissioner’s Cup from Aug. 4-Sept. 3. It’s been a roller coaster ride against the number for New York, and right now it is on the ride down again.

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under

OVER 162.5 (-110) is the way to go in Game 1, as we should get plenty of fireworks.

The Liberty closed out the regular season with 3 straight Over results, scoring 88 or more points in each of the games, while forgetting how to play defense. New York allowed an alarming 89 or more points in the final 3 games, including 90 points against Washington on Sunday. The Over actually cashed in each of the final 3 regular-season meetings between these teams.

The Over has cashed in 4 in a row against winning teams for the Mystics, while the total has gone high in 10 of the past 13 against Eastern Conference foes for the Liberty.

Chicago Sky at Las Vegas Aces Game 1 odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Chicago Sky at Las Vegas Aces Game 1 odds and lines, with WNBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

In Game 1 of the 1st-round of the WNBA playoffs, the Chicago Sky and Las Vegas Aces meet Wednesday at Michelob Ultra Arena at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Tip-off is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Sky vs. Aces odds, and make our expert WNBA picks and predictions.

The Sky closed out the regular season with 3 straight victories to surge into the 8th seed, leapfrogging the Los Angeles Sparks for the final playoff spot. Chicago scored 92 or more points in each of those 3 games, covering each outing while cashing the Over in the last 2 contests.

The Sky is 7-1 against the spread (ATS) in the last 8 games, while the Over holds a 5-3 edge during the span.

The Aces ended the regular season with 4 straight wins, going for 94 or more points in the final 3 outings, all Over results.

These teams last met on Aug. 24, with the Aces posting a 94-87 win while the Sky covered as a 14.5-point underdog as the Over (171.5) connected. That was a theme, as Vegas won all 3 regular-season meetings, with Chicago covered all 3 contests, and the Over hit in all 3 battles, too.

Sky at Aces Game 1 odds

  • Against the spread (ATS): Sky +16.5 (-110) | Aces -16.5 (-110)

Sky at Aces Game 1 picks and predictions

Prediction

Aces 92, Sky 81

Moneyline

The Aces (-2500) held on for the league’s best regular-season record over the New York Liberty, securing the No. 1 overall seed. They’re a great bet to not only win this series, but go to the WNBA Finals, too.

However, you cannot risk 25 times your potential return in Game 1 of this series, especially since the Sky (+1100) have played Vegas tough this season.

AVOID.

Against the spread

The SKY +16.5 (-110) are a strong play in the series opener. While the Aces -16.5 (-110) swept the regular-season series, Chicago has covered all 3 meetings. The Sky is on fire against the number, too, cashing in 7 of the last 8 games overall, including a cover against the Aces Aug. 24.

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under

OVER 170.5 (-110) is a solid play.

The Aces have been phenomenal on offense all season, leading the WNBA with 92.8 PPG. Defensively, Las Vegas was 2nd in scoring defense (80.3 PPG), although they were a mediocre 6th while defending the trey.

The Over cashed in the final 3 regular-season games for the Aces, while the Sky has seen the total go high in 5 of the past 8 outings, and 3-0 in 3 regular-season meetings in this series.

The New York Liberty (30-7) wrap up a 2-game road trip against the Dallas Wings (20-17) Tuesday. Tip-off from College Park Center is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET (CBSSN). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Liberty vs. Wings odds, and make our expert WNBA picks and predictions.

The Liberty have registered 6 consecutive victories, including an 86-69 win at the Chicago Sky Sunday to open the brief road swing. New York covered that game as a 9-point favorite, has covered 4 games in a row and is 9-2 against the spread (ATS) across the past 11 regular-season games.

The Wings suffered a 97-84 loss in overtime against the visiting Indiana Fever Sunday, failing to cover as 9-point favorites. Dallas is now just 1-4 ATS in the past 5 games overall. The Wings have been crushing the Over lately, as the total has gone high in 10-1 in their last 11 games.

Liberty at Wings picks and predictions

Prediction

Wings 89, Liberty 86

Moneyline

The WINGS (+180) are a strong play for the opportunity to nearly double up.

Dallas is just 3 games over .500 on the season but it has recorded victories against the top teams in the WNBA, including the Las Vegas Aces and the Liberty. The Wings beat the Liberty in New York 98-88 as 7.5-point underdogs on July 19.

While the Wings have failed to cover in 4 of the past 5 games overall, Dallas seems to save its best for the cream of the crop. Look for the Wings to fly high.

Against the spread

The WINGS +4.5 (-105) are a good play catching more than 2 buckets if you want a little insurance and don’t trust Dallas straight up.

While Dallas is just 1-4 ATS in the past 5 games overall, it has won outright 4 of the past 7 games against teams with a winning record. The Wings are also 5-3 ATS in the past 8 contests against teams with an overall winning mark.

Over/Under

The OVER 170.5 (-110) is the lean in Tuesday’s battle in the Metroplex.

The total has gone high in each of the 2 meetings between New York and Dallas this season, with the Wings averaging 95.5 PPG and the Liberty going for 95.0 PPG. Look for plenty of fireworks.

Seattle Storm at Las Vegas Aces odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Seattle Storm at Las Vegas Aces odds and lines, with WNBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Seattle Storm (11-25) make the 2nd stop on a 4-game road trip against the Las Vegas Aces (31-6) Saturday. Tip-off from Michelob Ultra Arena at Mandalay Bay is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET (NBA TV). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Storm vs. Aces odds, and make our expert WNBA picks and predictions.

The Storm might be eliminated from postseason contention, but Seattle hasn’t stopped fighting. It is coming off a 72-61 win in Los Angeles as a 7-point underdogs last time out as the Under (159.5) cashed. The win snapped a 3-game losing streak, and the cover ended an 0-2-1 against the spread (ATS) slide. The Under was also the first in 5 games for Seattle.

The Aces topped the visiting Washington Mystics last time out by an 84-75 score, although Las Vegas was unable to grab the cover for the 6th consecutive contest. The Under is 2-1 in the past 3 outings, too.

These teams last met in the Pacific Northwest, with the Aces pulling out a 79-63 win, while the Storm cashed at most shops as a 16.5-point underdog. The Under (171) also connected in that one. That was the closest pass for the Storm, as Seattle lost the first 2 meetings this season by 33 or more points.

  • Against the spread (ATS): Storm +16.5 (-105) | Aces -16.5 (-115)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 169.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Storms at Aces picks and predictions

Prediction

Aces 91, Storm 71

Moneyline

The Aces (-2000) will cost you a pretty penny, as a bettor would need to risk $100 for every $5 of profit with a Las Vegas victory. There is just no reason to ever bet such a heavy moneyline favorite. Even if you were to include Vegas in a multi-team parlay ticket, betting such a strong favorite sucks the value right out of your ticket.

PASS.

Against the spread

The ACES -16.5 (-115) are a strong play laying the points on their home floor.

The Storm +16.5 (-105) has been eliminated from the postseason chase. While Seattle was impressive last time out in L.A., that’s against a lowly Sparks team, and not the top team in the WNBA. Las Vegas will step on the gas in the 2nd half, grabbing the easy win and cover.

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under

The UNDER 169.5 (-110) is the lean in this 4th meeting of the regular season.

While the Over is 4-1 in the past 5 games for the Storm, the Under is 5-1 in the past 6 games following a straight-up win, and 6-1 in the past 7 tries after a cover in the previous outing. The Under is also 4-1 in Seattle’s past 5 trips to The Strip.

For the Aces, while the Over has cashed in 6 of the past 8 tries against Western Conference teams, the total has gone low in 5 straight at home, while going 5-2 in the previous 7 when working on a day of rest.

Connecticut Sun at New York Liberty odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Connecticut Sun at New York Liberty odds and lines, with WNBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Connecticut Sun (25-11) travel to meet the New York Liberty (28-7) Friday. Tip-off from Barclays Center is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET (ION). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Sun vs. Liberty odds, and make our expert WNBA picks and predictions.

The Sun head to Brooklyn looking to avenge a 95-90 overtime loss at Mohegan Sun Arena against the Liberty on Aug. 24. Connecticut did cover the 6-point number at most shops while cashing the Over (166.5).

Connecticut is a healthy 3-1-1 against the spread (ATS) in the past 5 games, although it failed to cover a 14.5-point spread in Thursday’s 84-74 win over the Phoenix Mercury.

New York is flying high after topping the league-leading Las Vegas Aces yet again on Monday, winning 94-85 in Brooklyn as a 2-point favorite as the Over (174.5) cashed. The Liberty are now 7-2 ATS across the past 9 outings, while the Over has hit in 3 in a row.

Sun at Liberty odds

  • Moneyline (ML): Sun +275 (bet $100 to win $275) | Liberty -350 (bet $350 to win $100)
  • Against the spread (ATS): Sun +8.5 (-115) | Liberty -8.5 (-105)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 161.5 (O: -115) | U: -105)

Sun at Liberty picks and predictions

Prediction

Liberty 88, Sun 82

Moneyline

The Liberty (-350) will cost you 3 1/2 times your potential return, and that’s quite expensive against a good team. The Sun (+275) played them tough in the most recent meeting, and the past 2 games have been decided by 8 or fewer points, although New York has won all 3 meetings this season.

PASS.

Against the spread

The SUN +8.5 (-115) might not win this one outright, but they’ll play the Liberty tough.

The Sun covered the most recent meeting on Aug. 24, a 5-point loss in overtime in Uncasville. Connecticut actually holds a 6-4 ATS edge in the previous 10 meetings despite going 1-2 ATS this season.

Connecticut is 3-1-1 ATS in the past 5 games overall, and 18-7-1 ATS in the past 26 games against the Eastern Conference, while going 5-2-1 ATS in the previous 8 on the road.

New York is hot against the number, too, so be careful. It has covered 4 of the past 5 at home, and 8 of the past 10 overall. Still, this is a big number for 2 teams who know each other well.

Over/Under

The OVER 161.5 (-110) might be the best play on the board in this Friday night battle in Gotham.

Connecticut has cashed the Over in 6 of the past 8 games against teams with a winning overall record, while New York has gone high in 9 of the past 10 against teams in the Eastern Conference. The Liberty are well rested, too, having last played Monday. The Over is 4-1 in the past 5 for the Lib when playing on 3 or more days of rest.
