2023 Women’s World Cup: England vs. Colombia odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s England vs. Colombia odds and lines, with Women’s World Cup soccer expert picks, predictions and best bets.

England and Colombia meet Saturday in a quarterfinals matchup of the 2023 Women’s World Cup. Kickoff from Stadium Australia is scheduled for 6:30 a.m. ET (FOX). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the England vs. Colombia odds, and make our best Women’s World Cup bets, picks and predictions.

England is looking to get back to the semifinals which is where the Lionesses made it last World Cup before bowing out against Sweden in 2019.

England posted a win on penalties after a scoreless draw in full-time against Nigeria in the Round of 16 on Monday. The match was anything but uneventful, however, as forward Lauren James was shown a red card and has been banned for 2 matches after stomping on the back of a fallen Nigeria defender.

Colombia posted a 1-0 win over Jamaica on Tuesday in the Round of 16 to reach the quarterfinals for the first time in that nation’s history. Colombia welcomes back fullback Manuela Vanegas after a 1-game suspension for a pair of yellow cards in the group stages.

  • Moneyline: England -190 (bet $190 to win $100) | Colombia +625 (bet $100 to win $625) | Draw +260
  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: +145 | U: -200)

England vs. Colombia picks and predictions

Prediction

England 0, Colombia 0

Moneyline (ML)

I am not sure who is going to come through on penalties, but I feel that’s how this quarterfinals match is going to be decided. As a result, DRAW (+260) is a tremendous value on the 3-way line, as you can multiply your initial wager by more than 2 1/2 times.

England was rather sluggish last time out against Nigeria, and Colombia plays a similar style. You can expect the South American side to play it rather close to the vest with tight defense while taking very few chances. It will toss a blanket on England, a team that was outshot by Nigeria last time out.

Over/Under (O/U)

PASS.

Under 2.5 Goals (-200) is just too expensive. While there is very little chance we see the back of the net hit 3 or more times, you can’t risk twice as much as your return.

Instead, take a chance on UNDER 1.5 REGULAR TIME GOALS (+145) for a much better value. I am expecting Colombia to clamp down defensively and make it a nightmare for England to shake loose.

I also like the “halftime and full-time” prop, playing TIE/TIE (+350) for the opportunity to more than triple up. If this match does go to penalties, it will be very lucrative if you make this wager.

2023 Women’s World Cup: Australia vs. Denmark odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Australia vs. Denmark odds and lines, with Women’s World Cup soccer expert picks, predictions and best bets.

In a Round of 16 matchup, Australia (2-0-1) and Denmark (2-0-1) meet Monday in the 2023 Women’s World Cup at Stadium Australia in Sydney. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 a.m. ET (FS1). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Australia vs. Denmark odds, and make our best Women’s World Cup bets, picks and predictions.

Australia ended up winning Group B, just edging out surprising Nigeria, which beat the Matildas in group play. Australia ended up notching 7 goals in the 3 games, while conceding just 3. The Aussies routed Canada 4-0 last time out, putting an exclamation point on the group after a slow start.

Australia star striker Sam Kerr has been unable to feature in any of the 3 games to date, as she has dealt with a calf ailment. It’s uncertain if Kerr will be able to play vs. Denmark. She was an unused substitute against Canada last time out.

Denmark ended up in 2nd place in Group D, just getting by China 1-0, falling to table-topper England 1-0, and beating Haiti 2-0.

The Danes have never won a World Cup knockout game. These teams met in an international friendly last year, with Denmark opening with the 1st goal, while Australia rattled off 3 unanswered markers to win 3-1.

Australia vs. Denmark odds

Provided by BetMGM Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated Saturday at 10:55 a.m. ET.

  • Moneyline: Australia -110 (bet $110 to win $100) | Denmark +300 (bet $100 to win $300) | Draw +230
  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: +130 | U: -185)

Australia vs. Denmark picks and predictions

Prediction

Australia 1, Denmark 0

Moneyline (ML)

AUSTRALIA (-110) will have the home-pitch advantage in Sydney against a Denmark (+300) team, which is a big underdog, and a side that has never won a Round of 16 match.

The Aussies can win this one with or without Kerr, although the addition of the star striker would be huge against a Danish defense that has been extremely turgid during this tourney.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 2.5 GOALS (-185) should come through, although that’s a pretty heavy price tag. The Matildas did see 4 or more goals in each of the previous 2 matches, notching 6 goals while conceding 3. However, Denmark’s defense will offer a lot more resistance, and the stakes are much higher, too, so the intensity will be ratcheted up tremendously.

If you’re a little less on the conservative side, and enjoy adventure, consider UNDER 1.5 REGULAR TIME GOALS (+165) at plus-money. If this game ends in a scoreless draw, or a 1:0 decision either way in regular time, you’d be a winner.

In addition, under the “both teams to score and total goals” prop section, I like NO AND UNDER 4.5 GOALS (-150).

New Zealand vs. USA Women’s National Team odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s New Zealand vs. USA odds and lines, with USWNT expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The United States Women’s National Team battles the New Zealand Women’s National Team Tuesday. Kickoff from Wellington Regional Stadium is set for 10:05 p.m. ET (HBO Max). Below, we preview Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the New Zealand vs. USA odds, and make our best USWNT bets, picks and predictions.

The USWNT will have 2 tune-up matches at New Zealand to prepare for the SheBelieves Cup, which kicks off on Feb. 16 with the USWNT against Canada. The USWNT is No. 1 in FIFA’s women’s world rankings. They haven’t lost or drawn in 11 matches, dating back to a 0-0 draw with the Czech Republic on Feb. 17, 2022.

New Zealand ranks 24th in the world. After these 2 matches, they’ll face Portugal and Argentina twice in the coming month and a half. The last New Zealand national team win was against South Korea on Nov. 30, 2021, albeit they have only played 3 other matches since then. They drew the Czech Republic in the SheBelieve Cup last year.

New Zealand vs. USA picks and predictions

Prediction

USA 3, New Zealand 0

Moneyline (ML)

PASS.

Unless it is against a top-5 opponent, almost every USWNT game will get a pass on the moneyline as the odds present no value either way. They have simply been too dominant to bet against, but at (-2500), that just isn’t even close to enough return to bet on the USWNT.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET UNDER 3.5 (+120).

The value is here to bet against goals, and the reasoning is mainly due to what happened last time these teams met and then what the United States should be looking to accomplish.

For starters, USWNT won 5-0 on Feb. 20, 2022. That isn’t a shocker, but they had just 4 shots on goal and 5 fouls while only having 59% possession. They weren’t playing at their top game with 3 of those 5 goals being own goals by Glasgow City D Meikayla Moore.

Those mistakes are unlikely to repeat themselves, and otherwise, the USWNT didn’t showcase much attacking dominance. Similarly, the USWNT  likely will be playing different combinations to try to figure things out.

The USWNT has gone Under this total in 7 of 12 games last year and in 4 of its last 5 matches. New Zealand has gone Under this total in 2 of 3 matches last year. With the USWNT trying to figure things out and the trends from last year, back the UNDER 3.5 (+120).

2022 Women’s Euro Championship: England vs. Germany odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s England vs. Germany odds and lines, with 2022 Women’s Euro picks and predictions.

England welcomes Germany to Wembley Stadium in London Sunday for the 2022 Women’s Euro final. Kickoff is set for noon ET (ESPN/ESPN+). Below, we preview the England vs. Germany odds and lines, and make our best women’s soccer picks and predictions.

England is coming off a convincing semifinal win over Sweden, a game it dominated for every minute. The home side won 4-0 with 5 more shots and 4 more shots on target.

England beat Spain, another top-10 team in the quarterfinal round. England blew out the group stage, outscoring opponents 14-0. England has conceded once in the 2022 Euro and has scored 20 goals.

Germany is coming off a dramatic 2-1 win over France. Germany had fewer shots than France but did total more shots on goal.

Germany beat Austria 2-0 in the quarterfinal. German M Alexandra Popp is tied for the most goals in the tournament with 6, scoring both goals in Germany’s semifinal win.

Germany is No. 5 in the Women’s FIFA Rankings and England is No. 8.

Prediction

England 2, Germany 1

Money line (ML)

BET ENGLAND (+145).

England has looked unbeatable, and it thrashed a top-tier Swedish side. While Germany advanced, it wasn’t nearly as impressive in beating France.

The home side also has 5 of the tournament’s top-10 goal scorers, so the talent and pace should certainly be there.

Especially on corners, Germany was vulnerable against France. Considering England has 2 players who have 4 or more goals within the box, it should be able to convert at a higher rate.

With the crowd’s backing, expect England to come out on top.

Over/Under (O/U)

LEAN OVER 2.5 (+110).

Both teams were able to convert their opportunities in the semifinal round, both playing top-10 teams per FIFA rankings. Getting double-digit shots could be another reality in this final, and it should create some magic.

The talent is just going to be otherworldly with 7 of the tournament’s top-10 scores in action. Each side has scored at least 2 goals in 9 of the 10 combined games.

They’ve both been scoring machines, and that should keep up in this final.

2022 Women’s Euro semifinal: Germany vs. France odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Germany vs. France odds and lines, with 2022 Women’s Euro picks and predictions.

Germany welcomes France to Stadium mk in Buckinghamshire Wednesday for a 2022 Women’s Euro semifinal. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. ET (ESPN2/ESPN+). Below, we preview the Germany vs. France odds and lines, and make our best women’s soccer picks and predictions.

Germany won its group stage games by a combined 9-0. Its toughest challenge was Spain, a game they won 2-0.

Germany drew Austria in the first round of the knockout stage, winning 2-0 and totaling 20 shots. Germany sits No. 5 in the FIFA Women’s World Rankings.

France is ranked as the 3rd-best team in the world. It’s the highest-ranked team left as No. 8 England knocked out No. 2-ranked Sweden 4-0 in the other semifinal match.

France didn’t have an overly impressive group stage. They were 2-0-1, drawing Iceland. However, in the knockout stage, they took out the No. 4-ranked Netherlands. It had 13 shots on target to the Netherlands’ 1.

Prediction

France 2, Germany 1

Money line (ML)

BET FRANCE +185.

France, as noted, wasn’t impressive in the group stage, but it is tough to not see its dominant win over the Netherlands and assume they’ll be able to make it through Germany.

Germany doesn’t have a top-30 player per ESPN’s latest rankings of the top women’s soccer athletes. France, on the otherhand, has 3 in the top 30, 1 at each level of position (forward, midfield and defense).

That striking level of talent is going to be on full display. France has had a remarkable 21 more shots on target than its opponent in the last 3 matches.

Germany had fewer shots on target and only 30% of possession against Spain which isn’t necessarily a positive. Put it all together, and France seem like the far better option here.

Over/Under (O/U)

LEAN OVER 2.5 (+125).

Germany has scored at least 2 goals in every game.

France has scored at least 1 and 2 or more in 2 of its last 4 matches. France also had 13 shots on target and 33 total shots in its quarterfinal match against a top-5 Netherlands team.

Both teams have shown enough potential offensively to assume they’ll be able to top this total.

2022 Women’s Euro semi: Sweden vs. England odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Sweden vs. England odds and lines, with 2022 Euro Women’s picks and predictions.

England welcomes Sweden to Bramall Lane in Sheffield Tuesday for a Women’s Euro 2020 semifinal. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. ET (ESPN2/ESPN+). Below, we preview the Sweden vs. England odds and lines, and make our best women’s soccer picks and predictions.

This is theoretically a home match for England, which is coming off a 2-1 quarterfinal win over Spain Wednesday. England won all three group-stage matches by a combined score of 14-0.

England did have some trouble in the quarterfinal though, getting outshot 17-9 and allowing Spain to control 58% of the possession. Nonetheless, England, which is ranked No. 8 in FIFA, advanced with the 1-goal victory over 7th-ranked Spain.

Now, England will face No. 2 Sweden (USA is No. 1). The Swedish haven’t had as easy of a ride to the final four. Sweden tied Netherland 1-1 in its group-stage opener before winning the next 3 matches by a combined 8-2 score, including Friday’s 1-0 quarterfinal victory over Belgium.

Sweden tallied 34 shots and 8 on target in the quarterfinal compared to Belgium’s 3 and 0. Despite being higher ranked, Sweden will be a strong underdog in this semifinal battle.

Prediction

Sweden 2, England 1

Money line (ML)

SWEDEN WIN OR TIE (-127).

The talent is going to be there for both teams, but the battle will really be between superstar Swedish D Magdalena Eriksson and English F Fran Kirby.

Kirby is England’s starting attacking midfield and has been excellent so far this tournament. On the other side, Sweden has taken on 3 top-20 teams and allowed just 6 shots on target.

While Spain was a difficult test for England, the Swedish draw with the Netherlands and then dominance over Belgium should make one confident they’ll have success against a strong English attack.

The Swedes beat England 2-1 back in the 2019 World Cup third-place play-off match, so they’ve been able to handle England in the past.

The value here is taking the road side at +300, but I’d suggest playing a safer SWEDEN WIN OR TIE (-127).

Over/Under (O/U)

LEAN OVER 2.5 (+120).

The last time these two met, the teams went Over 2.5 goals in the first 31 minutes. Now, this will likely be much different, but Sweden is coming off a match in which it played a top-20 side and put up 34 shots.

Similarly, with Kirby leading the way, England shouldn’t be shy of opportunity. The Lionesses topped 2.5 goals this in 2 of 3 group-stage matches and against Spain, a top-10 team, in the 2-1 quarterfinal win.

Expect a high-level match, one that is played with pace and has opportunity to get a shot on frame. With that in mind, for the value play, I like OVER 2.5 (+120).

USWNT vs. Mexico odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s USA vs. Mexico odds and lines, with MLS picks and predictions.

The United States Women’s National Team (2-0) will take on the Mexican Women’s National Team (0-2) Monday. Kickoff from Estadio Universitario is set for 10 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the USA vs. Mexico odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

This match will conclude the final round of Group A for the CONCACAF Women’s Championship.

Also in Group A were Haiti and Jamaica, both of which have won and lost a game. They will play for the second spot in the group as the USWNT’s goal differential makes it very improbably they drop even with a loss.

The USWNT have scored 8 goals and allowed none through 2 games. They beat Haiti 3-0 and then Jamaica 5-0 with both games played last week.

Mexico lost to Jamaica 1-0 and then to Haiti 3-0. Although Mexico has lost both times they still come in at No. 26 in the world, according to FIFA. They could put up a fight against the top-ranked USA.

USWNT vs. Mexico odds, lines, picks and predictions

  • Over/Under: 4.5 (O: -115 | U: -125)

[tipico]

Prediction

USA 4, Mexico 0

Money line (ML)

PASS. There’s no value here.

Per Tipico, the most likely final score is 4-0 which is what I also would suggest. The USWNT offense hasn’t been good enough as of late to look into a 5-0 win which could fall under the -117 “other” tab.

Nonetheless, the value isn’t here to bet the total.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET UNDER 4.5 (-125).

The USWNT has played 9 games this season, and they have topped this total in 5 of them.

However, they’ve only given up 1 goal on the year, and that was against Uzbekistan on their lone shot of the match. Mexico gave up just 1 goal to Jamaica.

Against Haiti, they had 2 conceded on 2 penalties and then their opponents’ 3rd goal after Mexico had sustained a red card. Prior to these 2, Mexico had won all 4 matches of 2022. They still sit top 30 as well, not outside the top 50 like Jamaica and Haiti.

With the game in Mexico, the crowd should be raucous. Considering Mexico failed to score in both games, it’s doubtful their offense finds some legs against USWNT.

With that in mind, their ranking suggests they should pose a stronger defense than either of the USA’s other competitors. I’ll take the Under 4.5 (-125) as the game’s best bet.

USWNT vs. Colombia soccer odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s USWNT vs. Colombia soccer odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

The United States Women’s National Team hosts Colombia at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah. Tuesday’s kickoff is set for 10 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we preview the USWNT vs. Columbia odds and lines, and make our best soccer bets, picks and predictions.

This will continue the summer circuit of international friendlies for the USWNT. After crushing Uzbekistan 9-0 and 9-1 in a pair of matches, the USWNT defeated Colombia 3-0 in Colorado Saturday.

The friendlies will help Team USA get into form for the CONCACAF Women’s Championship final round, which commences with a match against Haiti July 4.

At least in their first match, Colombia posed a larger threat to the USWNT than many of its previous opponents, mainly on the defensive end. While the USWNT had 22 shots, they were limited to just 8 on target. Colombia had 27% of the possession and just 1 shot.

Colombia ranks 28th in the world, per FIFA women’s rankings (USA is No. 1). Coming into this 2-game match with the U.S., Colombia had drawn its last 4 international friendlies, 2 against Argentina and 2 against Venezuela.

  • Over/Under: 4.5 (O: -135 | U: -107)

[tipico]

Prediction

USA 4, Colombia 0

Money line (ML)

PASS.

Betting any favorite at -10000 produces little value.

Even $100 would result in a fraction of a dollar in return. Even the alternate line of USA -2 at -370 has no value. There are some correct score predictions that may be worth a long-shot gamble.

Considering the USWNT gave up 1 shot on Saturday and has given up just 1 goal total in all 6 of the 2022 matches, which was Uzbekistan’s only shot on target, I’d back its defense.

If you’re set on playing the USWNT, a final result of 4-0 (+420) would be worth a small wager.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET UNDER 4.5 (-107).

The USWNT might not have put up 6 or 7 goals on Saturday, but they were still dominant. That display should role over into their performance on Tuesday evening. They controlled the game, holding 73% of possession.

Colombia had just 1 shot on 0 shots on target. They had under half as many passes. I expect a similar showing. The USWNT had just 8 shots on target, scoring on 3.

The USA has played 2 of its 4 matches this year against FIFA top 30 teams under this total. The only 2 that reached it were a pair of 5-0 wins over New Zealand.

Considering how they played Saturday mixed with the fact that the USWNT should be giving more minutes to younger players and fewer to veterans like F Alex Morgan, I expect this battle to again go under.

USWNT vs. Colombia odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s USWNT vs. Colombia odds and lines, with MLS picks and predictions.

The United States Women’s National Team hosts Colombia at DSG Park in Commerce City, Colo. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the USWNT vs. Columbia odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

This will continue the summer circuit of international friendly for the USWNT. They crushed Uzbekistan, 9-0, scoring on an own goal in the 1st minute their last time on the pitch. They won 9-1 the match before.

This will help them get into form for the CONCACAF Women’s Championship final round, which commences with a match against Haiti July 4. They’ll take on Colombia at Rio Tinto Stadium Tuesday.

As for Colombia, they should pose a larger threat than Uzbekistan.

Colombia ranks 28th in the world, per FIFA women’s rankings (USA sits No. 1). Colombia has drawn their last 4 international friendlies, 2 against Argentina and 2 against Venezuela.

Prediction

USA 4, Colombia 0

Money line (ML)

PASS.

Betting any favorite at -20000 produces little value.

Even $100 would result in a fraction of a dollar in return. That said, even USA -2 at -800 has no value. There are some correct score predictions that may be worth a long-shot gamble.

Considering the USWNT has given up 1 goal in all 5 2022 matches, which was Uzbekistan’s only shot on target, I’d back their defense.

If you’re set on playing the USWNT, 4-0 (+430) would be worth a small wager.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET UNDER 5.5 (-115).

The USWNT has played in 5 games in 2022, and they’ve outscored their opponents 28-1.

However, they beat Uzbekistan 18-1 in their 2 most recent matches. The other 3 were a 0-0 draw with the Czech Republic and two 5-0 wins over New Zealand.

Colombia should look more like those than the women’s dominance over Uzbekistan. In Colombia’s 4 friendlies this year, they’ve scored 4 and allowed 4 with two 0-0 draws and two 2-2 draws as the results.

While the USWNT has elite scorers like F Alex Morgan and F Megan Rapinoe, they’ve also been trying to incorporate the next generation of women’s talent.

Combine what they’ve done against quality opponents with who should take the pitch, and the UNDER 5.5 (-115) is my favorite play in this battle.
