Browns Podcast: Mike Vrabel hiring is huge for Cleveland in 2024

How did the Browns do in the first week of free agency

Just like that, the first week of NFL free agency is over, and the Cleveland Browns were active in the market. However, the team’s best move of the week might have been hiring veteran coach Mike Vrabel.

Having someone who has had so much success in the NFL as both a player and a coach on your staff as a consultant is a real positive move to help the team take the next step.

Most of the moves on the defensive side have been retaining their best talent from a great unit last year. Being able to retain top talent is something good teams do, and the Browns did that.

The team upgraded on the defensive line, trading out Jordan Elliott for Quinton Jefferson, a more proven and productive pass rusher. Andrew Berry continues prioritizing strong special teams units, bringing back their punter and signing special teams ace Tony Brown.

Minnesota Vikings potential spending spree: Purple Access

How will the Minnesota Vikings spend their money in free agency? Purple Access explores that topic and more.

Free agency is less than a week away and the Minnesota Vikings could look significantly different when the 2024 season kicks off.

Going into free agency, the Vikings are going to have at least $37 million in cap space to spend. How are they going to spend it? Will they be trying to put it toward a few good players or trying to fill multiple holes? The strategy that general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah uses will tell us a lot about how he wants to continue building this team.

Along with trying to figure out how the Vikings will approach free agency, the guys look at multiple other topics, including whether or not a quarterback should play right away and the potential of an 18 game season.

All of that and more on the latest episode of Purple Access on the Purple Daily YouTube channel.

Detroit Lions Podcast: Breaking down the Robinsons in the draft

Breaking down the Robinsons, Darius and Chop, in the 2024 NFL draft and how they would fit the Detroit Lions

Looking around the mock draft landscape for the Detroit Lions these days, it seems to be an extension of the Swiss Family Robinson. Two players with that surname dominate the current projections.

In a special edition of the Detroit Lions Podcast, I dove in a little deeper on the Robinsons, Darius from Missouri and Demeioun (aka Chop) from Penn State. They are very different styles and archetypes of EDGE players, and each will hold their own appeal to the Lions–and Lions fans.

Both Darius and Chop are coming off impressive NFL Scouting Combine performances that make them viable candidates for the No. 29 overall pick. Both could be gone by the time the Lions pick, too.

PODCAST: What did we learn at the NFL combine about offensive NFL draft prospects
