Ravens CB Marlon Humphrey, ILB Patrick Queen have hilarious Twitter exchange about potentially playing in London

Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey and inside linebacker Patrick Queen had a funny Twitter exchange about potentially playing in London

The last time the Baltimore Ravens played a football game in London, England, things did not go as planned for the purple and black. They got destroyed at the hands of the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2017 by the final score of 44-7, and had to take a long flight back after a disappointing loss.

Although Baltimore isn’t scheduled to host an international game in 2022, they could still play in either London or Munich, Germany since some of their opponents will be hosting games abroad. On Monday, Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey and inside linebacker Patrick Queen had a hilarious Twitter exchange about whether they want to go to London.

Ravens could play in international game during 2022 season

The Ravens could play in an international game during the 2022 season

The Baltimore Ravens aren’t going to be hosting an international game during the 2022 season. However, despite that they could very well be playing in one.

There are multiple teams on Baltimore’s 2022 schedule that are slated to play abroad in the international series, and because of that the Ravens could find themselves traveling to either London, England or Munich, Germany. The last time that Baltimore traveled overseas to play was in 2017, when they lost in blowout fashion to the Jacksonville Jaguars by the final score of 44-7.

If Baltimore were to go abroad, they would have to deal with very long flights as well as adjusting to a different time zone. There are plenty of advantages and disadvantages to playing in a different country, and it will be revealed in a few months if the Ravens will be one of the teams who will be going overseas.

Kyler Murray missing one thing to match other QB contract extensions

The five other teams to ink their young QB to a contract extension after three seasons either had multiple playoff appearances or multiple playoff wins.

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray is seeking to get a contract extension this offseason. Now that he has completed three seasons in the NFL, he is eligible for it.

His agent released a statement through ESPN’s Adam Schefter, putting pressure on the Cardinals to get a deal done now and show commitment to Murray.

Five other young quarterbacks received large contract extensions following their third year in in the NFL in recent history.

However, the teams who inked their quarterback to huge extensions had something in common, something that Murray and the Cardinals are currently without.

What is that?

All those teams had multiple playoff appearances or multiple playoff wins in the quarterback’s first three seasons.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes took the Kansas City Chiefs to the postseason twice and won the Super Bowl. He won four playoff games before the end of his third season.

Quarterback Josh Allen took the Buffalo Bills to the playoffs twice in his first three seasons and two postseason wins in his third season.

Deshaun Watson went to the playoffs with the Houston Texans twice and won one game in 2019.

Jared Goff took the Rams to the playoffs twice in three seasons and took the Rams to the Super Bowl.

Carson Wentz is the one asterisk. He himself never played in the postseason before getting his extension. However, the Eagles did make it once and won the Super Bowl with Nick Foles starting for him. Wentz looked like the MVP that season before tearing his ACL.

Murray has been to the playoffs only once and the Cardinals were embarrassed in that one game. The Cardinals have suffered second-half collapses.

So while the Cardinals are very high on Murray’s future, one can see why they might want to wait a year before giving him the extension, much like how Baker Mayfield of the Cleveland Browns or Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens have not yet gotten their bid deals.

Jackson made the playoffs three years in a row but only had one win. Mayfield took the Browns to the playoffs once.

The Cardinals probably will end up having to make a long-term deal with Murray, but that will be based on the trust that his improvement each season will lead to the team taking the next step and making deeper runs into the postseason.

Oklahoma Women’s basketball gets a one spot bump in the latest AP Poll

The Oklahoma women’s basketball team sees a one-spot rise to their AP ranking heading into the final week of the regular season.

March is upon us. The best time of the year for the entire college basketball world. Craziness is as common as the despair teams feel when they are eliminated from the tournaments that happen this time of the year.

For the women in Crimson and Cream, March is about proving themselves even more. They’ve been one of the best teams in the country all year long and in the latest AP Poll ranking it was reflected as they received a one spot bump to 19th in the AP Top 25.

Last time out, the Sooners beat Kansas State on a Taylor Robertson buzzer-beater three-pointer on a day OU honored Sherri Coale and the 2002 Final Four team. The win kept Oklahoma (22-6, 11-5) in a tie for third in the Big 12 Conference, two games back of No. 5 Baylor and No. 8 Iowa State as the league enters the final week of the regular season.

The Sooners are one of four Big 12 schools represented in the current AP Top 25 as Texas also is represented sitting at 11th. The hardwood ladies finish up their Big 12 regular season with one last road game with a trip to Stillwater first in a game played on Wednesday and the season finale, Senior Day, and home finale all take place on Saturday afternoon as they wrap the season up with a game against the Kansas Jayhawks.

While they land at 19th in the AP Poll, the final March Madness Top 16 reveal has the Sooners as a top 16 team. If that was to hold up through the end of the regular season and through the conference tournaments the Sooners would host the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament. That would provide a significant boost for any team trying to make a deep run into the NCAA Tournament.

The Sooners can’t afford to get ahead of themselves. Priority number one should be finishing the regular season as strong, with two winnable games against conference foes.

OKC Thunder player grades: SGA scores 37 points on 16 shots in loss to Kings

SGA has another high-efficient 30+ point game as the Thunder lose to the Kings.

The Oklahoma City Thunder fall to the Sacramento Kings, 131-110, in Monday’s game against two teams in the bottom of the standings.

Even with the loss, it’s hard not to be mesmerized by another elite scoring game for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander as he finished with 37 points on 16 shots. Since returning from his ankle sprain, Gilgeous-Alexander has scored 105 points on 62 shots. This has easily been the best scoring stretch of Gilgeous-Alexander’s season and arguably of his career.

Now while the final score indicts a 21-point blowout, this was actually a close game for most of the contest as it went into halftime tied up at 59 apiece. The Kings were able to use a 72-point second half to blow this game open and create a significant enough lead to put this one away.

De’Aaron Fox led the way with 29 points while Harrison Barnes’ 23 points and Trey Lyles’ 24 points helped out as well. Former Thunder rookie Domantas Sabonis finished with 14 points, 16 rebounds and seven assists.

Overall, the Thunder defense wasn’t really there this game like it is most and the Kings were able to get anything they wanted pretty easily, especially in the second half. Outside of Gilgeous-Alexander, not a ton to be too impressed with outside of the fact that some of the bottom roster guys were able to contribute and that this loss helps out the reverse standings tremendously. Let’s take a look at player grades.

Desmond Ridder on why he should be the 1st QB selected in the 2022 NFL draft

Cincinnati’s Desmond Ridder talks about why he should be the first quarterback selected in the 2022 NFL draft

The 2022 NFL draft class doesn’t have a clear-cut leader atop the quarterback group, which gives all of this year’s top passers the opportunity to state their case as the best of the bunch.

Cincinnati’s Desmond Ridder is among them, after helping the Bearcats become the first Group of 5 team to crash the College Football Playoff.

Watch the video above to see why Ridder thinks he should be the first quarterback off the board in this year’s draft.

Rick Carlisle offers update on Chris Duarte after aggravating toe injury

Duarte on Monday was forced to leave early after aggravating a left toe injury in the third quarter in a loss to the Magic.

Chris Duarte left the Indiana Pacers‘ 119-103 loss on the road to the Orlando Magic early on Monday after aggravating a left big toe injury in the third quarter.

Duarte appeared to experience some discomfort after fouling Magic guard Cole Anthony midway through the period. He checked out of the game and went back to the locker room and was eventually ruled out of returning by the team.

Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle is hopeful Duarte can play on Wednesday.

His toe is sore so we’ll hope that in the next day and a half that he can get it feeling better. Sometimes, you get kicked and it hurts a lot and it calms down but I don’t know what is going to happen with that. I did tell him get with the trainers, get treatment and try to get ready for Wednesday and, if not, it’ll be Friday.

Duarte previously missed three games with the injury but returned to play on Sunday in a win over the Boston Celtics. He recorded 11 points and four rebounds in that victory and finished with seven points and four rebounds in 14 minutes versus the Magic.

He has emerged as one of the top first-year players, averaging 13.3 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists. He was selected to compete in the NBA Rising Stars game but missed it due to the toe injury. He was the ninth player in team history to be selected for the showcase game.

The Pacers will face the Magic again in Orlando on Wednesday as the team is hopeful Duarte can suit up in that contest. They continue a four-game road trip on Friday in Detroit before wrapping it up on Sunday with the Washington Wizards.

Clippers at Rockets: Tuesday’s lineups, injury reports, broadcast and stream info

Houston nearly ended its long losing streak on Sunday versus the Clippers, and they will get another shot Tuesday versus the same opponent and on the same Toyota Center court.

In the second of two straight games between the teams, the Houston Rockets host the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday. If you’re wondering how you can watch all the action live, you’ve come to the right place.

The Clippers have won three straight games to climb above .500, which currently gives them the No. 8 spot in the Western Conference playoff race. Houston, on the other hand, has lost nine consecutive contests.

However, the closest the Rockets have come to winning in that tough stretch was Sunday’s 99-98 loss to the Clippers at Toyota Center. It was Houston’s best defensive effort in weeks, but it was somewhat offset by an excessively cold shooting night by backcourt starters Jalen Green and Dennis Schroder, who shot a combined 8-of-33 (24.2%).

If the Rockets can sustain their defensive improvement from Sunday and see those guards return to form, that could be the ticket to finally ending their prolonged slide. To do that, though, they need to find ways to attack the rim more successfully than they did two days ago — when big man Ivica Zubac owned the paint with 15 rebounds and 6 blocked shots.

Jags bring back OL Tyler Shatley on a 2-year deal

The Jags are running it back with backup OL Tyler Shatley, which is a smart decision when considering he’s started in over 30 games.

The Jacksonville Jaguars need to knock this offseason out of the park, which includes retaining some pending veteran free agents. They started that process today by retaining their most experience backup offensive lineman in Tyler Shatley, who signed a two-year deal worth up to $6.8 million with $2.3 million of it being guaranteed.

While he’s a backup player, the signing of Shatley is huge, and it’s not just because he’s started in 33 games between the center and guard spots, but also because the Jags had five offensive linemen set to be a free agent. However, Shatley has decreased that number by one as Cam Robinson, Andrew Norwell, A.J. Cann, and Will Richardson now make up the list.

A majority of Shatley’s starts have been at the center position for Brandon Linder, who has missed over 40 career games, 22 of which have come in his last three seasons. For that reason, there will be some speculations on whether Shatley’s signing is to be a starter as there is one year left on Linder’s deal, which will pay him just over $9.5 million.

This past season, Shatley started in eight games as Linder was injured in the middle of October with an ankle and MCL injury. That resulted in him going on injured reserve, but he returned in late November to help the team wrap up the season.

At the very least, the Jags retained one of the league’s best backups in Shatley, who can play both center and guard. However, there is still a lot of work to be done by the Jags’ front office as they need more backups and starters for the offensive line.
