Clemson University student catches massive shark off Long Island, NY, beach

A Clemson University student made a great catch off a beach near Long Island, New York

The biggest catch of 2020 won’t be made by a Clemson University football player. Rather, it was done July 25 off the coast of Long Island (NY), by 21-year-old  Manhasset (NY) resident TJ Minutillo, a student at the South Carolina football power.

Big-game fishing is a “big-time hobby” for Minutillo, reported The Southwest Dutchess Daily Voice. Minutillo estimates he has caught around 300 sharks since he began going big-game fishing.

Minutillo was quick to say he released his catch, which was estimated at eight-feet long and close to 400 pounds. He used a net of sea robin to lure the shark.
