Photos: Bahamas home on prestigious Jack Nicklaus-designed course on sale for $1.45M

Have an extra $1.45 million lying around?

With its pristine white beaches and a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course that’s regarded as one of the best in the Caribbean, the exclusive area of Baha Mar just west of the Bahamanian capital of Nassau is a dream for visitors who grace the area.

But wouldn’t living there prove even better than sporadically stopping by?

No. 9 Lake Cunningham Estates is a golfer’s dream, backing up to the course, and getting the best of many worlds — close enough to Nassau with its dining and cultural options, yet secluded enough to enjoy peace, relaxation and a quiet 18 holes.

Here’s more from the listing at Sotheby’s:

This expansive home boasts a 5-bedroom main house, plus a 1 bedroom cottage overlooking the pool. The ground floor welcomes its owners and guests with a seamless, open floor plan featuring a generously sized kitchen adjacent to a comfortable family living room. Complementing this space are a formal living and dining area, along with a separate TV room that opens to the pool, and more.

Before Royal Blue Golf Course came into being, another golf course sat on this property, an additional chunk of bait used to lure potential travelers to this remote paradise. The 9-hole course, then known as Cable Beach Golf Club, was loosely associated with the British Colonial Hotel nearly four miles to its east, and offered Floridians (and others from the nearby Southeast United States) a slice of home — a flat, tricky run of holes with a constant threat of water. It was completely renovated and an additional nine was also added, one that works through elevation changes and rock formation.

Golf and ski in paradise at this $13M Colorado home on a Tom Fazio-designed course

The Valley course sits a little lower, meaning warmer temperatures and a longer playing season.

Just 20 minutes past Vail Ski Resort on the road from Denver, Cordillera Valley Club has gorgeous mountains, a lush valley and contains one of the gems of the Colorado golf scene.

The Valley course, designed by Tom Fazio, sits a little lower than the neighboring Mountain and Summit courses, meaning warmer temperatures and a little longer playing season.

This home that’s currently for sale for just under $13 million has sweeping views of the Sawatch Range, sits just in front of Spring Creek and according to a listing at Sotheby’s has an enormous heated patio that will allow its owner to enjoy the seasons a little longer.

The home also has a four-car garage with its own car wash, as well as a private path that leads out to the golf course.

Here’s more from the listing:

A favorite in the Vail Valley, the community of Cordillera Valley Club is one of the few neighborhoods with private roadways allowing residents to own and drive their own carts enjoying a ”golf cart lifestyle” unique in the Vail Valley. In addition to golf, the newly remodeled Club’s local amenities include restaurant, pro-shop, pool, hiking trails, tennis courts and gym.

In addition to the golf course and the amenities, Cordillera Valley Club residents savor the surrounding natural beauty with panoramic views stretching from the Back Bowls of Vail over to the New York Mountain, Sawatch Mountain Range and Lake Creek Valley.”

Here’s a look at the property.

This gorgeous heartland mansion has its own private 9-hole golf course, beach and wine cellar

A custom 9-hole golf course that stretches out behind the main house.

One of Iowa’s most expensive residential homes has been listed for sale in Johnston, and homebuyers who can afford the $5.5 million purchase price will be spoilt for choice in ways to entertain guests, indoors, or out.

Sitting on a substantial 25.79 acres, the seven-bedroom, six-bathroom home resides at 7395 N.W. 100th St., the centerpiece of a huge footprint more commonly associated with million-dollar homes located west of Des Moines.

Listed by the WB Realty Co., broker Matt Guns said the home conveys an immediate statement to first-time visitors. “You’re not necessarily just buying a property, you’re buying an entire lifestyle,” he said.

Accessible via a private driveway connected to 100th St., the two-story home is attached to a four-car garage. The front door opens into a living room with a fireplace, tall ceilings and large windows facing the mature foliage in the rear garden.

An open-plan, eat-in kitchen features a convenient butler’s pantry.

The first-floor primary bedroom provides direct access to the back patio and leads to a walk-in closet and an ensuite oversized bathroom that Guns described as “truly like walking into a spa.”

A few steps from the stairwell, a home office is visible behind a glass door and walls. Upstairs offers its own living room space, additional bedrooms, and a laundry area.

“From the second floor, you can actually see 801 Grand and the Iowa Capital, all the way from Johnston. It’s just one more impressive thing about the property,” Guns said.

Down in the basement, the layout is furnished with a purpose-built exercise area, a casual entertainment space and bar, a media room for movie watching and a walk-in wine cellar stabilized by its own dedicated temperature controls.

This home features an in-ground heated pool for year-round swimming.
Outside the home, a separate unattached building is large enough for four other vehicles. The owners and their guests can relax in the heated, in-ground swimming pool.

To the east, three more outbuildings include a structure that previously housed golf carts to ferry guests around a custom 9-hole golf course that stretches out behind the main house. The course was designed with six manicured putting greens and paved pathways for the carts to maneuver around the grounds.

At the southern end of the land, a private pond is unexpectedly bordered by a man-made beach, upgraded with lounging chairs and a fire pit. A covered jetty enables easy access into the water, or to potentially moor small watercraft.

The address is also zoned to raise horses on the property, a popular activity in the neighborhood. Guns and his colleagues are hesitant to predict the type of buyer with the ability to purchase a home of this scale. “It’s hard to determine with a home of this price and size exactly who it will attract. But it can accommodate pretty much any use you can think of,” he said.

“You’re just not really going to find something like this within the metro. This is a very unique property in that you can get 26 acres right in the city,” he added.

The home is listed at $5.5 million by Matt Guns of WB Realty Co.

Sublime English home that once housed James Bond (on prestigious golf course) available for $2.28M

The Appleton House is a nearly 7,000-square-foot mansion that once housed former James Bond actor Roger Moore.

Looking for a place to enjoy a cocktail shaken not stirred after a relaxing round on an English golf course that famed broadcaster Henry Longhurst once called one of the most scenic in Europe?

Look no further than Appleton House, a nearly 7,000-square-foot mansion that once housed former James Bond actor Roger Moore.

The property, located in the Stinchcombe area of the Cotswolds just under three hours west of London, is currently available for $2.284 million.

The home sits on Stinchcombe Hills Golf Club, which had its original nine open in 1889 with an additional nine opened in 1906. The course was redesigned in 1922 by Fred Hawtree with more tweaks

According to the listing at Knight Frank:

Appleton is extremely well presented, having been previously extended and more recently refurbished. The accommodation is arranged over two floors and benefits from both an imposing, formal layout ideal for entertaining, yet to the rear of the property lies a more homely arrangement of rooms ideal for family living with an exceptional orangery and raised terrace overlooking the garden and grounds where you can take in the stunning views beyond.

Upstairs is ample accommodation with three large bedroom suites; the principal suite sits in the centre of the house with a walk-through dressing room. There are three further double bedrooms with a family bathroom and a separate shower room. If ancillary accommodation is required, the house has been designed to separate the southern wing to create a one-bedroom annexe split over two floors.

Appleton House has six bedrooms, five bathrooms and a large additional building, all standing on 2.8 acres of land, including mature woodland.

Moore, who lived in the home in the 1960s, is best remembered for playing James Bond in seven films from 1973 to 1985, beginning with Live and Let Die and ending with A View to A Kill.

Moore’s relaxed style and sense of whimsy, which relied heavily on the arched eyebrow, seemed a commentary on the essential ridiculousness of the Bond films, in which the handsome British secret agent was as adept at mixing martinis and bedding beautiful women as he was at disposing of supervillains trying to take over the world.

Moore began his acting career at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, where he studied alongside future Bond co-star Lois Maxwell, who would go on to originate the role of Miss Moneypenny, secretary to Bond’s boss M, the head of MI6.

What about permanently relocating to a place you can enjoy year-round?

Windy, wild weather has taken much of the country by storm this week. And while it’s fun to think about a short golf getaway to somewhere in warmer climes, what about permanently relocating to a place you can enjoy year-round?

Such is the case on the tiny island of Mauritius, a tiny island off the African coast that’s home to about 1.2 million residents and some of the most beautiful views on the planet.

This villa boasts sea, golf and mountain views, all alongside the Ernie Els-designed Anahita Golf Club. When you’re done with 18, it’s easy to dip in the 25-meter pool that could entertain quite the crew of golf buddies.

From the listing at Sotheby’s:

Located next to the stunning swimming pool, the large open plan kitchen and living space are the heart of this exquisite villa. Each of the rooms has been individually decorated and feature bespoke, locally made furniture throughout.

With beautifully designed spaces inside and out, Villa Extraordinaire is the perfect space to bring the whole family together.

Foreign ownership: access to Mauritian residence permit and a favourable fiscal climate.

And of course, there’s the weather. With temperatures in the summer hovering in the 80s and in the winter still jumping consistently into the 70s, this could be the perfect place if you’ve had enough shoveling.

Here are some stunning images of the property:

Gary McCord flipped this Scottsdale condo for a $2.5 million profit after buying it just four years ago

The former CBS Sports commentator was a winner in a recent real estate transaction in Arizona.

Although Gary McCord played in more thana 400 PGA Tour events, he never found the winner’s circle. But the former CBS Sports commentator certainly turned up on the right side of a real estate transaction in his adopted home of Arizona.

According to a blurb in the Arizona Republic, part of the same USA Today Network that runs Golfweek, McCord and his wife Diane recently sold their condo in the Kierland area of Scottsdale for $5 million.

Drs. Christopher and Irene Biggs paid cash for a Scottsdale penthouse in the Kierland area. The 4,059-square-foot condominium with three bedrooms and 3 ½ bathrooms has a private elevator, a 210-bottle glass wine wall, electronic window shades, custom chandeliers, floor-to-ceiling windows and a waterfall marble kitchen island. Gary and Diane McCord sold the home. Gary is a professional golfer and commentator.

The sale netted a 100 percent profit since the McCords purchased the home for $2.5 million in 2019. The property overlooks Kierland, a 27-hole spread in North Scottsdale.

At the recent Arizona Golf Hall of Fame induction ceremony for the Class of 2023, McCord was among the attendees as he was on hand to support his former CBS colleague and current podcast partner Peter Kostis, with whom he runs the Kostis/McCord Learning Center.

“I brought him here to Arizona,” McCord told Golfweek of his relationship with Kostis. “I knew him from the Tour and him teaching a lot of the guys. He got tired of Florida so I called him and I said, ‘You wanna come down [to Arizona]? I got a new place called Grayhawk. I’m going to start a golf school there, and I have no idea what to do.’

McCord and Kostis both left CBS after the end of 2019 after their contracts were not renewed. These days, the duo has a YouTube channel called “Kostis and McCord: Off their Rockers.”

Here’s a look at the property that McCord recently sold:

This remarkable Canadian home near Banff has its own 9-hole golf course (at a price tag of $13.95M)

What happens when an owner recruits a bona fide golf architect to produce something magical on their property?

It’s sometimes the case that landowners with large swaths of greenspace will carve a golf hole or two into their acreage, giving them the means to keep their skills sharp.

But what happens when an owner recruits a bona fide golf architect to produce something magical on their property?

That’s the case with an incredible property currently on the market just outside Calgary, one with a 9-hole executive course designed by Gary Browning.

The home, which went on the market on August 1, offers some pretty phenomenal amenities:

This 19.18-acre parcel features a 12,000 + square foot home, a private, world-class 9-hole par-3 golf course, a clubhouse capable of handling large gatherings, as well as equipment maintenance and storage structures. The landscape is a seamless combination of natural forest, the golf course, numerous water features as well as professionally fabricated and maintained gardens. The home was designed and crafted with a brilliant combination of wood and stone that work flawlessly in sync with the grandeur of the structure and its surroundings. Entertaining here is a dream come true, whether for business or pleasure. The chef’s kitchen is front and center on the main floor, with soaring ceilings, plenty of natural light, a butler’s pantry, dining space for 20+ seats, a cozy fireplace, commercial refrigeration and numerous access points to the west exposed patio.

The lower walkout level has a games room, a second kitchen, 5 bedrooms, a Maplewood wine cellar, a wood-burning fireplace with a gas log lighter, and a commercial-style bathroom that can handle the largest of guest lists. The upper-level conference/sitting room is the perfect place to host your business meetings. Additional interior features include a total of 7 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, 3 laundry rooms and plenty of sitting and office areas. Cold beer can be poured on tap from the main floor, the lower level, and of course from the Clubhouse.

The golf course was designed by Gary Browning, a golf course Architect with a reputation for delivering high-quality golf course consultation, design and construction services. This may be Alberta’s finest 9-hole par-3 golf course. The Clubhouse structure is 1700 square feet on the main level. Commercial kitchen and bar equipment has been installed and gatherings here are typically catered by a local, prestigious, fine dining establishment. The lower level of the clubhouse is currently used for storage related to the operation of the clubhouse and golf course.

The property sits in an ideal location, just 30 minutes from Calgary’s downtown area, but about an hour from Banff and a number of ski resorts.

The asking price is $13,950,000 Canadian, or about $10.4M in U.S. dollars.
