We’re looking at the Philadelphia Eagles updated 76 man roster as the offseason workout program gets underway

The Eagles are back at the NovaCare Complex as the offseason program begins for 76 select veterans and second-year players.

The nine-week training program has three phases: one mandatory minicamp for the entire roster and one rookie minicamp for each group.

Phase One consists of the first two weeks of the program, with activities limited to meetings, strength and conditioning, and physical rehabilitation only.

Phase Two consists of the next three weeks of the program with on-field workouts, which may include individual or group instruction.

Phase Three consists of the next four weeks of the program, during which teams may conduct ten days of organized team practice activities, or “OTAs.”

No live contact is permitted, but 7-on-7, 9-on-7, and 11-on-11 drills are allowed.

The Eagles are changing their offseason program, including adding a mandatory minicamp for the first time under Nick Sirianni. They will have 7 OTAs (May 20, May 22-23, May 28, May 30-31) and three days of mandatory minicamp (June 4-6). In 2022 and 2023, they had six total OTAs.

Change is always good for the soul, and after losing six of their final seven games, including a wild-card loss to the Buccaneers, Philadelphia has undergone a dramatic reconstruction that could pay off with championship dividends.

Offensive coordinators Brian Johnson (Commanders) and Sean Desai (Rams) have left, replaced by Vic Fangio (DC) and Kellen Moore (OC).

The Eagles have retooled their roster on both sides of the football after inking DE Bryce Huff, RB Saquon Barkley, OLB Zach Baun, OL Matt Hennessy, WR DeVante Parker, S/CB C.J. Gardner-Johnson, LB Devin White, LB Oren Burks, DT PJ Mustipher, WR Parris Campbell, and CB Tyler Hall to deals during the first wave.

Philadelphia then traded for quarterback Kenny Pickett while extending Landon Dickerson and Jake Elliott. 

Philadelphia currently has about  $33,657,986 in cap space per Over The Cap, and they’re spending about $100+ million plus on both sides of the football.

The Eagles also have a Haason Reddick dilemma that’ll be resolved in the next week or more.

The biggest salary cap hits have changed, with Jason Kelce and Fletcher Cox counting until they’re officially released on June 1.

NFL free agency is finally here and things are moving at a million miles per hour. Over the past couple of years, the Philadelphia Eagles have found a ton of success in the offseason, and 2024 seems to be no different. Obviously the retirements of Jason Kelce and Fletcher Cox are tough ones, but general manager Howie Roseman always has a plan.

The Eagles landed running back Saquon Barkley which was their splashy move, however, re-signing former Alabama guard [autotag]Landon Dickerson[/autotag] to an extension is nearly as important. Dickerson’s extension is good for four-years and will be worth around $84 million, making him the highest-paid guard in league history. $50 million of it will be guaranteed with $20 million coming as a signing bonus.

Dickerson has been a guard ever since he stepped into the league, but with Kelce’s retirement, it will be interesting to see if he moves back over to center. During his time with Alabama and Florida State, Dickerson was almost exclusively a center.

The Eagles made Landon Dickerson the NFL’s highest-paid guard. But which Landon Dickerson are they getting?

The Philadelphia Eagles have dealt with the loss in retirement of two stalwarts on their lines — center Jason Kelce and defensive tackle Fletcher Cox — and now, general manager Howie Roseman is doing what he can to keep the rest of the band back together. Per Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Eagles have re-signed left guard Landon Dickerson to a new contract that fattens his wallet to an historic degree.

The Eagles selected Dickerson with the 37th overall pick in the 2021 draft out of Alabama, and Dickerson did have some rough moments last season in a Philly offensive line that underperformed overall. Dickerson allowed five sacks and 38 total pressures, after allowing three sacks and 40 total pressures combined in his first two seasons. Multiple injuries affected his efficiency, so that’s something to watch for in his future.

A 2021 second-round pick out of Alabama, Dickerson has transitioned from the center position to left guard, and he’s developed into one of the best run blockers in the NFL.

According to Over The Cap, the move saves Philadelphia $3 million in salary cap space.

Dickerson has earned Pro Bowl honors in each of the past two seasons. The 26-year-old is just the seventh NFL offensive lineman—and only the second selected beyond the first round—since 2011 to earn at least two Pro Bowls in his first three seasons on the original ballot.
