Ohio State women’s golf team adds Kailie Vongsaga

The Ohio State women’s golf team announced the addition of Arizona transfer Kailie Vongsaga to the team Tuesday.

The Ohio State women’s golf team has added a new member according to a statement from head coach Therese Hession Tuesday. Kailie Vongsaga has been added to the Ohio State women’s golf team’s 2020-21 roster after transferring from Arizona.

“We are thrilled to have Kailie join the Buckeyes this fall,” Hession said in a statement from the OSU athletic department. “She brings a wealth of tournament experience and will make an immediate impact both as a student as well a player.”

Vongsaga is a native of Diamond Bar, Calif., and competed in a pair of tournaments as a freshman for the Wildcats. She won the Arizona Wildcat Invitational in March, posting scores of 68-68-71 to take the tournament at 9-under-par.

Prior to her time at Arizona, Vongsaga won several junior events, including the ClubCorp Mission Hills Desert Junior and the AJGA Junior at Superstition. She is a three-time AJGA Rolex Junior All-American, has competed in the U.S. Women’s Amateur twice, including a 33rd place finish in 2018.

Vongsaga will have three years of eligibility remaining at Ohio State.
