Steelers vs Bengals: No news is good news for LB T.J. Watt

No setbacks for T.J. Watt and he’s ready to roll on Sunday.

On Saturday, the Pittsburgh Steelers announced they had downgraded cornerback Joe Haden to OUT in this week’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Haden has been dealing with a foot injury.

However, the bigger news might be what the Steelers didn’t say. Outside linebacker T.J. Watt missed last week’s game with a hip and knee injury and had been limited all week. Watt didn’t have an injury designation on the Friday practice report but as we’ve all learned, things can change in the Saturday walkthrough.

Thankfully, however, Watt got through the walkthrough with no setbacks and looks ready to return to action. This is going to be huge against the Bengals since Watt didn’t play against them when Cincinnati beat the Steelers in Pittsburgh in Week Three.

Watt’s impact on the team cannot be understated. This group hasn’t won a game this season when Watt has missed at least one quarter.

Steelers CB Joe Haden downgraded to OUT vs Bengals

The Steelers will be without Joe Haden on Sunday.

The Pittsburgh Steelers announced they have downgraded cornerback Joe Haden to OUT versus the Cincinnati Bengals this week. Haden had been listed as questionable with a foot injury on Friday’s game-status report.

This is honestly the least surprising news of the week. Haden missed last week’s game with the same foot injury and if we have learned anything about Haden during his tenure with Pittsburgh it’s that he is perpetually dinged up and questionable will mean out in many cases.

With Haden out, Cameron Sutton becomes the team’s No. 1 cornerback. He will be tasked with trying to slow down Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase. Chase has exploded on the scene as a rookie and is one of the best young receivers in the league already.

Steelers vs Bengals: Will T.J. Watt play vs Cincinnati?

Cast your vote and tell us if T.J. Watt is playing this week.

When the Pittsburgh Steelers lost to the Cincinnati Bengals on September 26, the Steelers were minus star outside linebacker T.J. Watt. There’s no denying his lack of pass rush played into the 24-10 loss.

This week the Steelers could once again be without Watt. Watt is currently dealing with a knee and hip injury and has been limited in practice all week. Watt missed last week’s loss to the Los Angeles Chargers and his absence was felt in a huge way.

Watt is scheduled to address the media on Friday and the team’s game status report will be out later today. However, it’s likely Watt’s status comes down to the dreaded game-time decision.
