In Joe Lunardi’s first update to his Bracketology since Aug. 10, the Florida Gators remained a projected six seed, the same seed line Lunardi has had them on since the first iteration for the 2020-21 season on July 15.

Lunardi has Florida in the West Region, where it would play the winner of a play-in game between No. 11 seeds BYU and Providence in Dallas. If UF made it to the Sweet 16 in Denver, then it would likely face either No. 2 Iowa or No. 3 Texas. If it made it to the Elite Eight, it could draw top-seeded Gonzaga.

Overall, there are seven SEC teams in Lunardi’s projected field, tied with the ACC for the second-most behind the Big 10’s nine.

In addition to the Gators, No. 4 Kentucky, No. 5 Tennessee, No. 8 LSU, No. 10 Alabama (who is in UF’s region), No. 10 Arkansas and No. 11 Ole Miss are also projected to make the tournament.

The Rebels are listed in the Last Four In, while Auburn is on the precipice, currently listed in Next Four Out.
