Commanders open as 5.5-point underdogs to Packers in Week 7

The Commanders are underdogs against the struggling Packers.

The Washington Commanders [2-4] return home to FedEx Field in Week 7 to host Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers [3-3].

Washington will presumably have a new quarterback under center for this game, as Carson Wentz suffered a fractured finger on his throwing hand and could miss as much as six weeks. Wentz is expected to see a hand specialist in Los Angeles, and there has been no word if that meeting has already happened or will occur this week.

Regardless, it sounds like Taylor Heinicke will return to the lineup as Washington’s quarterback.

Heinicke started at quarterback against the Packers in 2021, passing for 268 yards and rushing for 95 in a 24-10 loss.

So, who has the upper hand in Week 7?

According to Tipico Sportsbook, the Packers open as 4.5-point favorites over the Commanders. It’s unknown if the move to Heinicke had a positive or negative impact on the opening lines.
