The Eagles are back at the NovaCare Complex as the offseason program begins for 76 select veterans and second-year players.

The nine-week training program has three phases: one mandatory minicamp for the entire roster and one rookie minicamp for each group.

Phase One consists of the first two weeks of the program, with activities limited to meetings, strength and conditioning, and physical rehabilitation only.

Phase Two consists of the next three weeks of the program with on-field workouts, which may include individual or group instruction.

Phase Three consists of the next four weeks of the program, during which teams may conduct ten days of organized team practice activities, or “OTAs.”

No live contact is permitted, but 7-on-7, 9-on-7, and 11-on-11 drills are allowed.

The Eagles are changing their offseason program, including adding a mandatory minicamp for the first time under Nick Sirianni. They will have 7 OTAs (May 20, May 22-23, May 28, May 30-31) and three days of mandatory minicamp (June 4-6). In 2022 and 2023, they had six total OTAs.

Adam Schefter reports that Philadelphia is trading Reddick to the New York Jets.

Reddick is one of four players with 50+ sacks since 2020.

Reddick finished the year with 11.0 sacks and 38 tackles in 17 regular-season games, and he recorded double-digit sacks for the fourth consecutive season, leading his team in that category and tying for 15th in the NFL.

Had Nolan Smith shown that he was ready to be an elite pass rusher, the idea would have been to cut or trade Reddick, saving the Eagles $11 million after the dead money allotment.

Philadelphia then traded for quarterback Kenny Pickett while extending Landon Dickerson and Jake Elliott.

The Jets have added pieces this offseason in the hopes of building up the roster for a big push this season. But the offseason started with a blow when the Jets lost their sack leader from 2023, Bryce Huff, in free agency to the Philadelphia Eagles.

When asked Monday at the Annual League Meeting in Orlando if Huff was the toughest free-agent loss the Jets have had under Saleh, he replied, “for sure.”

Saleh had an interesting quote on Huff, comparing him to legendary New York Yankees closer Mariano Rivera. “Elite pass rusher,” said Saleh about Huff. “Closes games. People want to say that all he does is rush the passer, but all Mariano Rivera did was close ninth innings.”

Saleh added: “He’s a pretty darn good pass rusher and he’s going to be great for Philadelphia.” Huff signed a three-year, $51 million contract with the Eagles, the highest ever for an undrafted non-quarterback.

The Jets have been eyeing former No. 1 pick Jadeveon Clowney as a potential replacement for Huff and are reportedly “highly motivated” to get a deal done with Clowney, who tied a career high with 9.5 sacks last season for the Ravens.

The Jets are also hoping 2023 first-round pick Will McDonald takes a step forward in his second season after playing limited snaps as a rookie. Jermaine Johnson will continue to lead the way and Micheal Clemons will mix in the rotation more as well.

The 2024 salary cap is set at $255.4 million.

The Ravens will look drastically different on both sides of the football field after undergoing massive changes in player personnel and the coaching staff.

Eric DeCosta started the off-season with urgency, signing Justin Madubuike, one of the league’s best defensive linemen, to an extension. After inking Madubuike to a deal, Baltimore landed Derrick Henry for two years and $16 million.
