We’re looking at the Philadelphia Eagles updated 76 man roster as the offseason workout program gets underway

The Eagles are back at the NovaCare Complex as the offseason program begins for 76 select veterans and second-year players.

The nine-week training program has three phases: one mandatory minicamp for the entire roster and one rookie minicamp for each group.

Phase One consists of the first two weeks of the program, with activities limited to meetings, strength and conditioning, and physical rehabilitation only.

Phase Two consists of the next three weeks of the program with on-field workouts, which may include individual or group instruction.

Phase Three consists of the next four weeks of the program, during which teams may conduct ten days of organized team practice activities, or “OTAs.”

No live contact is permitted, but 7-on-7, 9-on-7, and 11-on-11 drills are allowed.

The Eagles are changing their offseason program, including adding a mandatory minicamp for the first time under Nick Sirianni. They will have 7 OTAs (May 20, May 22-23, May 28, May 30-31) and three days of mandatory minicamp (June 4-6). In 2022 and 2023, they had six total OTAs.

With the workouts and on-field training underway, we’re looking at Philadelphia’s updated 76-player roster ahead of next week’s NFL draft.

Arthur Smith could bring in several of his former players to help the Steelers.

With the hire of offensive coordinator Arthur Smith, the Pittsburgh Steelers have committed to real change in the offense system. This is all in an attempt to facilitate more scoring in a league where offenses have taken center stage.

Smith is going to need to work with the current Steelers to help them learn the system but could also bring in some of his former players to ease the transition and help this team. Here are four pending Atlanta free agents we could see on the Steelers in 2024.

Falcons OL Chuma Edoga will go on IR, WR Jared Bernhardt returns

According to Arthur Smith, the #Falcons will place OL Chuma Edoga on IR, and WR Jared Bernhardt will make his return to practice

The Atlanta Falcons will soon place offensive lineman Chuma Edoga on the injured reserve list, head coach Arthur Smith revealed on Wednesday morning. Backup center Matt Hennessy could be activated in a corresponding move.

Edoga has missed the last two games due to a knee injury. He has filled in admirably when called upon but was unlikely to play over the final two games as the offensive line gets healthier.

Smith announced a few other moves as well, per ESPN’s Michael Rothstein.

Wide receiver Jared Bernhardt and offensive lineman Justin Shaffer have been designated to return, opening up their 21-day practice window. Bernhardt made the team’s initial 53-man roster out of training camp following a strong preseason performance.

Shaffer, the former Georgia Bulldog, was drafted by the Falcons in the sixth round. He has spent most of the 2022 season developing on the practice squad.

Falcons rule out Matt Hennessy for Thursday’s game in Carolina

Falcons OL Matt Hennessy has been ruled out for Thursday night’s game against the Carolina Panthers.

The Atlanta Falcons placed left guard Elijah Wilkinson on injured reserve prior to Sunday’s loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, giving backup Matt Hennessy the start in Week 9. Hennessy suffered a knee injury in the second half, though, and did not return.

On Monday, Falcons head coach Arthur Smith said Hennessy has been ruled out for the team’s Week 10 matchup against the Carolina Panthers, per ESPN’s Michael Rothstein.

Atlanta has a quick turnaround before Thursday’s game, which could have influenced the decision to rule out Hennessy. Backup Colby Gossett is in line to get the start at left guard in Week 10.

Gossett, 27, filled in admirably for Hennessy, earning a pass-blocking grade of 77.7 from Pro Football Focus in Week 9. Atlanta opened as a slight favorite for Thursday night’s game in Carolina.
