Alabama DL Khurtiss Perry expected to enter transfer portal

On Tuesday, Alabama saw its first scholarship player enter the transfer portal since the window opened up last week. Defensive lineman Khurtiss Perry will explore his options via the transfer portal.

The Alabama Crimson Tide saw its first scholarship player enter the transfer portal since the transfer portal opened back up last Tuesday. Redshirt sophomore defensive lineman Khurtiss Perry will likely be suiting up elsewhere next season, according to Matt Zenitz of 247Sports.

The former four-star recruit spent two seasons in Tuscaloosa. He did not record any stats for the Crimson Tide.

Perry was expected to be a reserve defensive lineman at Alabama in 2024-2025. He was seeing work at defensive end during spring practices.

It will be interesting to see where Perry ends up. Two programs that recruited Perry heavily coming out of high school were Auburn and UCF. Perry took official visits to both schools before committing to the Crimson Tide.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow the latest regarding the Alabama football program and its involvement in the transfer portal.

Post-spring depth chart projections for Alabama’s defensive line

Projecting Alabama’s defensive line depth chart post-spring!

Now that spring football has officially wrapped up and the 2023 NFL draft is complete, it is time to shift our focus to the offseason.

Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide have a ton of questions marks exiting spring and fans are chomping at the bit for answers.

So as we dive into the dog days of summer, I thought we could take a look, position by position, and project the possible depth chart for the 2023 Alabama football team post-spring.

We have already taken a look at the quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers, tight ends, and the offensive line. Now that we have completed the offensive side, let’s shift our focus to the defensive side of the ball and look at the defensive line.

Several Alabama signees finish as 5-stars in recent On3 rankings update

Nick Saban is showing no signs of slowing down both on the field and on the recruiting trail

Traditional signing day is just a little over a week away and although Nick Saban and Alabama have pretty much wrapped up its class of 2022, player rankings continue to be updated.

On Monday, On3 Sports released its updated On300 rankings and several of Alabama’s signees finished with five-star status.

The Crimson Tide came in at No. 2 in the country in the consensus rankings just behind Texas A&M.

In total, Alabama saw five of its signees finish with a five-star rating. Of those, three were on offense and two were on defense. Here is every five-star signee the Crimson Tide has for the class of 2022.

To top things off, the updated rankings also show that in total, Alabama landed 15 of the top 100 players according to On3. Here are the remaining signees who finished inside of the top 100.

The class of 2022 is absolutely loaded for Saban and the Tide and it should be a lot of fun to watch these prospects develop over the next few seasons.

The season has come to an end and it is time to start shifting our focus to the team that will take the field in 2022.

Nick Saban and his staff had a fantastic early signing period back in December, and several of those prospects have already enrolled at the university.

Among those that have enrolled early, nine of the twelve are top 100 recruits according to the On3 consensus rankings.

Below is the complete list of early enrollees and their On3 consensus rankings.

SIGNED: 4-Star DL Khurtiss Perry inks NLI to join Alabama

Alabama keeps Khurtiss Perry in-state and wearing Crimson!

Alabama’s 2022 recruiting class is far from being complete, but the early signing period is already shaping out to be an impressive one that could have an immediate impact on the field in the 2022 season.

One of those impact players might just be Khurtiss Perry, a 6-foot-2, 265 pound, defensive lineman out of Pike Road, Alabama.

Perry chose to stay in-state with the Crimson Tide rather than Auburn, which extended an offer. He also held offers from Clemson, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State and others.

Top D-line target reacts to Clemson official visit

As The Clemson Insider previously reported, Pike Road (Ala.) High School four-star defensive lineman Khurtiss Perry was on campus this weekend for his official visit.

Perry, who remains the top uncommitted prospect in the state of Alabama was making his last rounds of visits before he makes his decision on Wednesday  — the first day of the early signing period for class of 2022 football recruits.

He’ll choose between his final five schools: Clemson, Alabama, Auburn, UCF and Texas.

Perry’s official visit to Clemson comes on the heels of Todd Bates making an in-home visit earlier this past week. Perry, who reacted on social media Sunday night — which you can see below — spent a lot of time with Clemson’s defensive/tackles coach/recruiting coordinator, head coach Dabo Swinney and defensive ends coach Lemanski Hall.

He’s built a solid relationship with Bates, who has been his lead recruiter throughout the process.

“Coach Bates has always been recruiting me,” Perry told TCI in October. “Coach Bates came to a game, came to my school. He’s just been a great guy. He’s always been on me, staying on top of me, making sure I’m doing the right thing, making sure I’m doing things to help me in my future.”

“I feel like he’s a great guy,” Perry added. “He’s from Alabama, so he relates on things, sees from my point of view.”

Perry (6-3, 265) is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 8 defensive lineman and No. 54 overall prospect for the 2022 class.

Todd Bates stopped by the home of a priority target in the class of 2022 on Tuesday night.

Clemson’s defensive tackles coach/recruiting coordinator was in Pike Road (Ala.) to visit with four-star defensive tackle Khurtiss Perry.

Perry picked up a Clemson offer in September after Bates traveled to watch him play in one of his games.

“Coach Bates has always been recruiting me,” Perry told The Clemson Insider back in October.

Perry, who remains the top uncommitted recruit in the state of Alabama, will have plenty of visitors this week with the early signing period rapidly approaching. He recently cut down his recruitment to five schools — Clemson, Alabama, Auburn, Texas and UCF.

Perry (6-3, 265) is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 8 defensive lineman and No. 54 overall prospect for the 2022 class.
