The Alabama football team will begin fall practice on Aug. 3. After an 11-2 finish to the 2023 season, the Crimson Tide are looking to improve that record in 2024.

Alabama signed the No. 1 recruiting class in the country in 2023. In 2022, the Crimson Tide finished with the No. 2 recruiting class in the country. Needless to say, Alabama has a number of talented underclassmen that can contribute in 2023.

Several true freshmen and sophomores are poised to have breakout seasons for the Crimson Tide. Roll Tide Wire breaks down 10 underclassmen that Alabama fans should be aware of as fall practice begins.

Three position battles to watch entering fall camp

Alabama fans will want to keep a close eye on these three position battles once fall camp arrivies!

We are now less than six weeks away from the start of Alabama’s 2023 football season and that means fall camp will begin in just a couple of weeks.

Once fall camp arrives there will be plenty of competition across every position group but there are some spots where the competition will be more fierce and where a starting spot is on the line.

It’s true that under head coach [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag], each starting spot is on the line every day, but it is also obvious that there are a handful of spots that are wide open heading into the 2023 season.

On Wednesday, the Alabama football team completed its 10th practice of the spring on the Thomas-Drew Fields. The Crimson Tide is scheduled to practice again on Friday before holding its second scrimmage of the spring on Saturday afternoon from inside Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Following Wednesday’s practice, Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban would make his way over to the Mal Moore Athletic Facility where he would speak to the media.

Coach Saban would provide an update on how some of his new additions to the coaching staff are working out, as well as a few player updates.

There are several second-year players who could generate some buzz this spring!

As February ends, spring football approaches. In just a couple of weeks, [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] and the Alabama football team will return to the practice field and begin on-field work for the 2023 season.

Alabama will have to replace significant pieces from last year’s squad, most notably quarterback Bryce Young and outside linebacker Will Anderson.

Each spring, Tide fans get a glimpse of what the future holds for the Alabama football team, and I expect some second-year players to step up and generate some buzz heading into the 2023 season.

Today we are look at five second-year players I believe could make some noise this spring.

To clarify, this is a list of players who did not have much of an impact as true freshmen in 2022. So players such as Tyler Booker, Isaiah Bond and Kobe Prentice will not be a part of this group.

The Crimson Tide is looking for its 12th consecutive season of at least 10 wins in the regular season while the Auburn Tigers are looking to become bowl eligible under interim head coach Carnell Williams.

Here are several of Alabama’s current players who should be seeing more playing time in the future.

Alabama has looked inconsistent at times this season. That goes for both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. Certain position groups have shown strides of improvement while other spots have struggled down the stretch.

Everybody knows that talent isn’t a question. There has been an abundance of talent that has been recruited at each of the different position groups. That goes for both the offense and defense. As the season progresses, Alabama’s coaching staff will work to put players in the best position to be successful.

Through the first seven weeks, the team has had its share of highs and lows. Whatever the case may be, there is still plenty of time to fix the areas of concern and prevent these issues from re-occurring in the future.
