Philadelphia Eagles’ cornerback depth chart gets big boost with addition of James Bradberry

The Eagles may have finally solidified the cornerback position after agreeing to a deal with veteran cornerback James Bradberry on a one-year contract.

Bradberry, 28, was a Pro Bowler and one of the NFL’s top cornerbacks, but the Giants released him earlier this month for cap purposes.

Bradberry’s contract is worth up to $10 million with incentives, according to Adam Schefter.

Pairing Bradberry, with Darius Slay and Avonte Maddox, now gives Philadelphia starting unit that’s not at a disadvantage in any matchup and it greatly increases the depth in the secondary.

Alabama Morning Drive: 2022 NFL draft recap

The latest news and notes involving the Alabama Crimson Tide on Monday morning.

Good Monday morning ladies and gentlemen! I hope everyone had a great weekend and is ready to get another work week started.

It was a busy weekend across the sports world. The 2022 NFL draft stole the headlines and once again [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] and Alabama were well represented.

In this edition of Alabama Morning Drive, we are going to take a look at each former member of the Crimson Tide that was drafted and where they are headed. We will also look at those who went undrafted but would sign as undrafted free agents.

Let’s just get right to it!

First…the undrafted…

Former Alabama DB Josh Jobe signs with the Philadelphia Eagles

Jobe has found his new NFL home in Philadelphia.

Former Alabama defensive back Josh Jobe has signed with the Philadelphia Eagles after going undrafted in the 2022 NFL draft.

Jobe was a two-year starter for the Crimson Tide in both 2020 and 2021. During his time in Tuscaloosa, Jobe accounted for 129 tackles, three interceptions, and 19 pass deflections.

After the 2020 season, Jobe received an All-American honorable mention by Pro Football Focus. Jobe chose to forego the draft and return for his senior season.

An injury in the SEC championship game cut Jobe’s season short as he did not appear in either playoff game. However, he earned a spot on the Bednarik, Nagurski, and Thorpe watch lists.

Jobe is an exceptional special teams player, and will likely make in immediate impact in that regard. He will also have the opportunity to learn under former first-team All-pro Darius Slay.

Eagles signing Alabama CB Josh Jobe to an undrafted free agent deal

Looking to add more depth in the secondary, the Philadelphia Eagles are signing Alabama CB Josh Jobe to an undrafted free agent deal

With the Eagles looking to add more quality depth at the cornerback position, Philadelphia is signing former Alabama cornerback Josh Jobe to an undrafted free agent deal.

A physical SEC cornerback who learned a pro-style of play from Nick Saban, Jobe would fit Jonathan Gannon’s zone system and would definitely make plays at the point of attack.

Jobe played in 12 of the Crimson Tide’s 15 games, logging 38 tackles, one tackle for loss, four pass breakups, and two interceptions.
