Alabama’s first Sugar Bowl score doesn’t ease Tide fans’ nerves

Alabama finally gets some points on the board, but still trails Kansas State.

Alabama has looked rough on both sides of the ball against Kansas State in the Sugar Bowl. Despite an early interception on the first drive of the game, the defense allowed an 88-yard touchdown run and the offense hasn’t been able to get things going.

Thanks to the speedy running back Jahmyr Gibbs, Alabama was able to quickly move the ball down the field and get within striking distance.

Bryce Young was able to evade pressure and find Isaiah Bond in the end zone to give Alabama its first points of the game.

The touchdown and successful extra point attempt shortened the deficit for the Crimson Tide. Alabama is down 10-7 in the second quarter.

Here’s what fans had to say.

Report Card: Grading Alabama’s dominating win over ULM

Alabama handled business on Saturday with a 63-7 win over ULM. Let’s take a look at the Crimson Tide’s report card for Week 3.

Alabama did precisely what they were supposed to do on Saturday completely dominating the ULM Warhawks 63-7. While the performance was not perfect, the Crimson Tide would score in various ways, including one on defense and two from the special teams unit.

Head coach [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] has to be pleased with the effort the team came out with jumping out to a 28-0 lead after the first quarter. But in the second quarter, the Tide would lose a little bit of its intensity.

Any time you can hang a 60 burger you have to be pleased but there is still plenty of areas the Crimson Tide will need to improve on.

Let’s take a look at this week’s report card.

First…the offense…

True freshmen who participated in Alabama’s Week 1 win over Utah State

A list of true freshmen who participated in Alabama’s Week 1 win over Utah State.

Alabama head football coach [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] has to be pleased with his team’s effort on Saturday night as the Crimson Tide completely obliterated Utah State 55-0.

One of the most important attributes of a blowout victory is the opportunity that some of the younger players receive to see the field.

Aside from playing several second-year players, Alabama also placed a handful of true freshmen on the field. A few even received some snaps with the first team and receiver [autotag]Kobe Prentice[/autotag] earned the start in the slot.

Below is the complete list of true freshmen who participated in the Week 1 victory over Utah State.

Alabama Morning Drive: Fall camp set to begin this week

August is here and that means football is back!

Good Monday morning, Tide fans! Welcome back to another edition of Alabama Morning Drive!

We have finally made it to August, and you know what that means, football season is just around the corner. In fact, [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] and the Alabama Crimson Tide are set to start fall camp sometime this week.

While an official date has not been set, going by past experiences, this is generally the week that Alabama will hit the practice field in preparation for the season.

The most educated guess that I can give is that Alabama will likely start on either Thursday or Friday of this week. The first scrimmage will likely be on August 13.

Regardless of when the Tide gets things rolling, fall camp is just a couple of steps away, and that means the football is back.

Alabama Morning Drive: Four-star CB Damari Brown has ‘Bama in his top six

The latest news and notes involving the Alabama Crimson Tide on Friday morning.

Good Friday morning, Tide fans and welcome back to another edition of Alabama Morning Drive! I hope each of you has had a good week as we head into the weekend.

We will start today’s edition with a four-star cornerback from the class of 2023 who recently dropped his top six schools, [autotag]Damari Brown[/autotag]. Hayes Fawcett of On3 released Brown’s top six late Thursday evening on Twitter.

Included in Brown’s top six are Florida State, Oklahoma, LSU, Miami, Clemson, and you guessed it, Alabama.

Brown hails from the state of Florida where [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] has done very well recruiting during his time at Alabama.

Brown’s father, Selwyn played for Miami in the 1980s before playing one season in the NFL with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Brown’s older brother, Davonte is currently a defensive back for UCF.

Let’s take a look at a few other stories involving the Tide this morning.

Predicting Alabama’s WR depth chart after the addition of Tyler Harrell

Projecting Alabama’s WR depth chart after the addition of Tyler Harrell

On Friday afternoon Nick Saban and the Alabama football team received a massive commitment via the transfer portal from former Louisville wide receiver Tyler Harrell.

Harrell will join a loaded but unproven wide receiver corp in Tuscaloosa and will most likely push for some significant playing time due to his elite ability to stretch a defense vertically.

It’s hard to say with absolute certainty who the starting receivers will be for the Tide this fall. Outside of Jermaine Burton, who coach Saban praised all throughout spring practice, there hasn’t been anyone that has taken the bull by the horns just yet.

With the addition of Harrell, I thought it was a good time to try and see if we can predict how things will shake up for Alabama at the wide receiver position.

Several Alabama signees finish as 5-stars in recent On3 rankings update

Nick Saban is showing no signs of slowing down both on the field and on the recruiting trail

Traditional signing day is just a little over a week away and although Nick Saban and Alabama have pretty much wrapped up its class of 2022, player rankings continue to be updated.

On Monday, On3 Sports released its updated On300 rankings and several of Alabama’s signees finished with five-star status.

The Crimson Tide came in at No. 2 in the country in the consensus rankings just behind Texas A&M.

In total, Alabama saw five of its signees finish with a five-star rating. Of those, three were on offense and two were on defense. Here is every five-star signee the Crimson Tide has for the class of 2022.

To top things off, the updated rankings also show that in total, Alabama landed 15 of the top 100 players according to On3. Here are the remaining signees who finished inside of the top 100.

The class of 2022 is absolutely loaded for Saban and the Tide and it should be a lot of fun to watch these prospects develop over the next few seasons.

5 takeaways from Alabama’s early signing day

5 early signing day takeaways for Alabama

Yesterday, Nick Saban and Alabama hauled in some of the top talent from around the country on early signing day.

Currently, the Tide sits with the second-ranked class in the nation according to On3.

Now that the dust has settled and we have had time to reflect on some of the events from a wild Wednesday, I thought we could take a few moments to look at some of the key takeaways from this steller class for the Crimson Tide.

Let’s get started!

SIGNED: 4-Star WR Isaiah Bond joins the Crimson Tide

Alabama scoops up the impressive 4-star WR out of Georgia!

Alabama has gone all over the east coast, stealing two players from next-door Georgia. Now, the Crimson Tide heads back over to Bulldog country and manages to get a third player from the state, and a second from the same high school.

Isaiah Bond, a four-star wide recover from Buford, Georgia, attended the same high school as four-star safety Jake Pope, who also signed with Alabama today.

Stay up to date with Alabama’s 2022 class with Roll Tide Wire’s ‘Early Signing Day Tracker.’

Bond stands at just under 5-foot-11, weighing 175 pounds. He will join a program that has produced a handful of first-round talent at his position, and is likely to turn out some more in the 2022 NFL Draft.

He held offers from Florida, Miami, Georgia and other high-profile programs in the nation. Though he had never verbally committed to a specific program, experts at 247Sports predicted earlier this month that he would be joining the Crimson Tide.

4-star WR Isaiah Bond makes commitment

Four-star Buford High School wide receiver Isaiah Bond has committed to Alabama over Georgia and Florida.

The Georgia Bulldogs were among the top three schools for blazing fast four-star wide receiver recruit Isaiah Bond, who has now committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Alabama has the No. 3-ranked recruiting class in the country behind Texas A&M and Georgia.

Kirby Smart and Georgia already have 24 commitments in the class. Georgia’s top rival, Florida, which recently fired Dan Mullen and hired Billy Napier, has the No. 40 recruiting class.

In March, the Georgia Bulldogs extended a scholarship offer to Isaiah Bond. Georgia’s offer may have come too late in the process. Bond won a state championship in 2020 with Buford High School.

Bond committed Alabama over Georgia and Florida. The four-star receiver was previously committed to Dan Mullen and Florida, but opened his recruitment back up after Florida fired Mullen.

Bond is a four-star recruit who ranks as the nation’s No. 86 overall player and as the No. 2 athlete in the class of 2022, according to 247Sports. Bond ranked as the eighth-best recruit in Georgia.

Isaiah Bond announced his commitment to Alabama via Twitter:

The Buford star runs a fast time 10.48 in the 100 meters, so he certainly has elite speed. In football, Bond plays defensive back and wide receiver for Buford.

Bond is an impressive track athlete. He’s one of the best in Georgia. Here’s Bond’s 10.48 performance in the 100 meters.

You can’t teach speed like that!
