Elite 2022 WR recruit Evan Stewart is also a TikTok star

Evan Stewart has accumulated over one million followers on TikTok and has no plans on slowing down.

2022 Frisco (Texas) Liberty High School wide receiver Evan Stewart spends most of his time thrashing opposing defenses and making acrobatic catches downfield.

When he’s not busy dominating on the gridiron, though, Stewart can be found entertaining millions on TikTok.

Stewart has accumulated 1.5 million followers on TikTok over the last year and a half and recently told 247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong that he could make a living off the content he produces on the social media app. Stewart often travels to Atlanta for business purposes and frequently hears from representatives of Drake, Gucci Mane, Lil Uzi Vert and Playboi Carti looking for him to do a dance video promoting a new song.

Despite his social media success, Stewart’s focus remains on developing into the best wide receiver he can possibly become. Stewart caught 44 passes for 906 yards and eight touchdowns as a junior and with schools like Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Texas and Texas A&M, his future is certainly bright.

With that being said, Stewart has no plans on stepping away from TikTok or closing the door on being a social media influencer. Well aware that football is not forever, Stewart’s TikTok fame could potentially open new doors for him once his playing days are over.

“I want to be a football payer that always comes first,” Stewart said. “I want to go to the NFL I want to live that life. If that doesn’t work influencing can take me far and if that doesn’t work I can go into sports broadcasting.”

4-star WR Evan Stewart decommits from Texas

Four-star recruit Evan Stewart has decommitted from the Texas Longhorns. Georgia was among his top schools.

The Georgia Bulldogs are back in the running for four-star recruit Evan Stewart. Stewart has decommitted to the University of Texas after committing to the Longhorns last month.

Standing 6 feet, Stewart hails from Frisco, Texas. The four-star ranks as the nation’s No. 40 overall player, No. 5 receiver and No. 8 player in the state of Texas in the 2022 class. 247Sports has Stewart ranked quite close to being a five-star prospect.

Stewart’s decommitment is a big loss for Steve Sarkisian and the Texas Longhorns. Texas still has the No. 8 rated recruiting class of 2022, which is second best in the Big 12 behind Oklahoma. Sarkisian, the former Alabama Crimson Tide offensive coordinator, has recruited well to begin his tenure at Texas.

He plays football for Liberty High School, where he is a rising senior. Throughout 2019, he hauled in 43 passes for 757 yards and seven touchdowns.

Stewart holds more than 25 college football scholarship offers. The four-star wide receiver is considering attending Georgia, Texas, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Alabama, LSU, Notre Dame, TCU, Florida, Baylor, USC, Penn State or Texas A&M.

Stewart announced his decommitment from the Longhorns via his Twitter account:

Evan Stewart desires to visit college campuses and meet with coaches in person. Unfortunately, he hasn’t been able to do so thanks to the NCAA’s dead period in recruiting.

Kirby Smart and Georgia will need to land several wide receiver commitments in the class of 2022. The Dawgs have a few targets in mind including Kojo Antwi and Samuel Mbake. Georgia may have to replace George Pickens, Kearis Jackson, Demetris Robertson, and more next offseason.

Where Texas’ 2022 class ranks after Evan Stewart’s decommitment

With Stewart now reconsidering his options, Texas has taken a dive on the 247Sports composite team rankings.

Texas’ 2022 recruiting cycle was off to a hot start in Steve Sarkisian’s two months in charge. The discussions of how good the class was going to end up were reaching maximum hype levels, but it all came crashing back down to reality on Thursday afternoon.

Four-star wide receiver Evan Stewart announced his decommitment, citing his desire to take in-person visits as the main reason. The speedster was the biggest pledge Sarkisian had gotten. Stewart’s ability and quickness were projected to change Texas’ wide receiver room for the better. It’s a rather big loss for the Longhorns.

With Stewart now reconsidering his options, Texas has taken a dive on the 247Sports composite team rankings. Texas A&M rose above the Longhorns with a commitment from Isaiah Sategna and bumped them down to No. 5 in the country. Now without Stewart, Texas has dropped to No. 8, behind Oklahoma.

Texas’ average score is 95.03, only behind Ohio State and Georgia. Every other team ranked inside the top 10 has at least seven commitments, while Sarkisian has reeled in six so far.

Maalik Murphy remains the headliner of the 2022 class from a rating standpoint. Running back Jaydon Blue may be the best overall player, being a burner himself. The Longhorns have plenty of options at wide receiver, but Stewart projects as the top receiver of the cycle. It stings.

There will still be an opportunity for Sarkisian and Andre Coleman to get Stewart back in the class. Alabama and Oregon were seen as the biggest competitors before his original commitment in February. However, going against Nick Saban in a recruiting battle usually ends poorly for everyone not named Alabama.

Four-star wide receiver Evan Stewart commits to Texas over Alabama, Oregon

Texas has landed one of its most important targets in the 2022 class.

Steve Sarkisian and Texas have landed one of its most important targets in the 2022 recruiting class.

Four-star wide receiver Evan Stewart announced his commitment to the Longhorns late Thursday nightTexas was able to beat out schools such as Alabama, LSU, Georgia, Notre Dame, Oregon, Texas A&M, and USC.

The Frisco, Texas, native is the No. 8 overall in-state prospect. Stewart is ranked the No. 40 overall player and the No. 5 wide receiver in the country. Securing a top 10 prospect from within the state of Texas is exactly what Sarkisian needed to continue the momentum in the 2022 class.

Stewart runs track alongside playing football and competes in the 100 meters and 200 meters sprint. Pure speed is one way to describe his playing style, something Sarkisian has identified as a big need on the roster.

Having the ability to line Stewart up anywhere makes the four-star prospect an even bigger threat. Blowing by defensive backs and racking up yards after the catch is the name of his game. Seeing him in a Sarkisian based offense will terrify opposing defenses.

During his junior season, Stewart caught 46 passes for 913 yards and nine touchdowns. The wide receiver only played in nine of Frisco Liberty’s games, missing two with an injury.

You can watch his full highlights below.

As for Texas’ 2022 class thus far, Stewart is the second wide receiver to commit. Four-star Armani Winfield committed in the middle of the national championship game after seeing what Sarkisian’s offense looked like.

With the quarterback position locked down in five-star Maalik Murphy, a special offensive class is being developed. The Longhorns are expected to take at least two more wide receivers, another running back, and a handful of offensive linemen. The power of Sarkisian’s offensive mind is going to strike gold.

Four offensive recruits Texas should push for after Maalik Murphy’s commitment

Recruiting momentum is real and Texas must be able to capitalize after landing Maalik Murphy. Here are four prospects Texas should push for.

Getting Texas back on the national recruiting scene was one of the biggest tasks that Steve Sarkisian needed to accomplish early on. In-state recruiting was always going to sort itself out for a program such as Texas, but being able to dip into other states is what builds national championship-caliber teams.
