Cowboys expected to add 4 players to practice squad on Thursday

Dallas has been active with their roster leading up to their regular season finale in Washington. Not only str the Cowboys signing former starting right tackle La’el Collins to the practice squad, but they also will add former Cowboy linebacker Damien Wilson. These are among four players expected to join the club once they create room on the 16-man squad.

Collins signed with Dallas back in 2015 and started 71 games along the offensive line. Collins accounted for $8.1 million against the Cowboys salary cap this season after the team released him back in March 2022. His practice squad salary goes unaccounted for as only the top 51 salaries in the NFL count against the cap.

Wilson signed with Kansas City and wound up winning and losing a Super Bowl in his two years in the Midwest. Wilson suited up for 17 games with the Carolina Panthers in 2022, with five starts. His path to seeing the field will hinge on how quickly he can adapt to the scheme.

They did not stop there as the team is also adding wideout Racey McMath and running back SaRodorick Thompson.

McMath was a sixth-round draft pick by Tennessee back in 2021. The former LSU product played in five games this season catching two passes for 40 yards.

Thompson is a rookie undrafted free agent who started with the Seahawks and was signed to their original practice squad after failing to make the initial 53-man roster. All four players will be eligible to practice once the official announcement is made.

Seahawks 2023 practice squad tracker: DE Hamilcar Rashed signs

Our practice squad tracker is updated.

The Seattle Seahawks lost their second-year outside linebacker Tyreke Smith this week when he was signed by the Arizona Cardinals off their practice squad. The team has just announced that they’ve signed former Oregon State defensive end Hamilcar Rashed to take Smith’s place.

Our practice squad tracker is updated (Dec. 15).

Seahawks 53-man roster tracker: Leonard Williams in, Cody Thompson out

Here’s the updated 53-man roster by jersey number going into tomorrow’s game against the Cleveland Browns.

The Seahawks are serious about making a deep postseason run this year. Just hours after their home win over the Browns, Seattle pulled off a trade that should help them get there. The front office has sent a 2024 second-round pick and a 2025 fifth-rounder to the Giants in exchange for Leonard Williams, one of the top interior pass rushers in the league.

To make room for Wiliams, the Seahawks have waived wide receiver Cody Thompson. Our roster tracker is now updated (Oct. 31).

Zach Charbonnet not expected to play for Seahawks today

Zach Charbonnet not expected to play for Seahawks today

According to a report by Adam Schefter at ESPN, rookie running back Zach Charbonnet is not expected to play for the Seahawks in today’s home game against the Cardinals. To account for this possibility, yesterday the team elevated undrafted rookie running back SaRodorick Thompson from the practice squad.

It’s a bummer for Charbonnet, who’s off to a good start in his career despite limited time on the field. As a rusher he has totaled 109 yards on 23 attempts – averaging 4.7 yards per carry. Charbonnet has also gotten high marks in pass protection, earning the team’s best pass blocking grade from PFF (85.8).

Seattle also elevated wide receiver Easop Winston Jr. from the practice squad on Saturday. That is likely a hedge in case DK Metcalf (ribs, hip) is on the inactives list.

3 Defensive Players to watch as Oklahoma takes on Texas Tech

The Sooners will take on Texas Tech in the last game before a much-needed bye week. Which 3 defenders will make an impact in Saturday’s game?

Some things are better solved with simplistic answers instead of trying to overcomplicate things. In the case of the current state of the Oklahoma Sooners defense, they simply need to get it done.

After a horrible showing for over half of the game in Lawrence, Kansas the Sooners found a way to make enough plays to get out of there with a win.

Now, they return home and face a Texas Tech offense that is far from a slouch and has some players that can make this game a headache for Oklahoma.

Texas Tech ranks second in the Big 12 behind Oklahoma in passing offense, and senior quarterback Henry Columbi has a big (literally) receiving weapon in 6-foot, 3-inch Eric Ezukanma, who will tower over the smaller OU defensive backs that Oklahoma is bound to send out there.

Senior Kaylon Geiger is their other main wide receiving threat and he has over 400 yards receiving to this point as well.

Their running game has guys like SaRodorick Thompson and Tahj Brooks, who both have over 300 yards and at least four touchdowns on the season.

Who are the three defensive players that can help out Oklahoma this week taking on this multi-faceted and talented Texas Tech offense? Take a look below.

We preview the battle of the quarterbacks with Sam Ehlinger, who will be facing the Red Raiders for the fourth time. His career record is 2-1 against them. Due to season ending injuries the last two years, Bowman has yet to play against Texas.

Keatontay Ingram is listed as the starter but as seen in the opener it was Roschon Johnson who took the first snaps. Report: Texas Tech running back arrested on Monday

It was reported on Monday that Texas Tech Red Raiders running back SaRodorick Thompson was arrested. He was booked under racing on highway.

The Texas Longhorns and the Texas Tech Red Raiders will kickoff their 70th matchup on Saturday. Texas finished off UTEP 59-3 while Tech survived a close on against Houston Baptist 35-33. The two will start off the 2020 Big 12 Conference schedule after closing out the 2019 campaign. Texas won that game 49-24 after falling down by two touchdowns early on.

For the Red Raiders, one of the their key offensive players is SaRodorick Thompson. The running back made a jump last season but came into the season as they guy. He was highlighted in the “Tale of the Tape” matchup that was published over the weekend. It is quite possible that he might not even suit up now against Texas now. KCBD Channel 11 in Lubbock is reporting that Thompson was arrested on Monday.

The charge in which he was arrested was for “racing on highway.” Thompson finished the game against HBU with 22 carries for 118 yards and two touchdowns in their win. It is unclear at this point on if Thompson will be available to play or if he will be held out for disciplinary actions. Should he be unable to go, Tahj Brooks and Chadarius Townsend will likely be the running backs to see most of the action against Texas.
