Chiefs RB Louis Rees-Zammit stayed late to admire Arrowhead Stadium after loss to Lions

#Chiefs RB Louis Rees-Zammit was seen admiring Arrowhead Stadium after Kansas City’s loss to the #Lions on Saturday.

Louis Rees-Zammit finally got to experience a football game at his new home field when the Kansas City Chiefs faced the Detroit Lions at Arrowhead Stadium on Saturday afternoon

Rees-Zammit was a star rugby player overseas before joining the Chiefs via the International Player Pathway, and while he has plenty of experience as a professional athlete, the sheer scale of Arrowhead seemed to give him pause after Kansas City’s loss to Detroit.

In two pictures that were posted to Twitter by FOX 4 sports anchor Harold R. Kuntz, Rees-Zammit was spotted taking in the grand spectacle on his new home turf after fans exited the stadium:

While his NFL career is still in its infancy, Rees-Zammit has already proven to be an asset for the Chiefs’ offense and special teams unit during the preseason.

Expect to continue seeing the former rugger in action against the Chicago Bears on August 22 as he vies for a spot on Kansas City’s 53-man roster.

LOOK: Breakout WR makes outstanding grab at Chiefs training camp

Rising WR Nikko Remigio came down with an outstanding catch during a practice session at #Chiefs training camp this week.

Second-year wide receiver Nikko Remigio has gained a cult following during the Kansas City Chiefs’ training camp in St. Joseph and will get a chance to put his talents on display this weekend when the defending champions face the Jacksonville Jaguars in preseason action.

Though Remigio isn’t the most physically dominant pass-catcher, his ability to find open space against defenders and come down with difficult catches would make him a natural fit in Andy Reid’s offense this season.

The Fresno State product has been making his case for a spot on Kansas City’s 53-man roster, and helped his cause by making this outstanding catch during workouts this week:

While Remigio’s performance at training camp has been superb, his future with the Chiefs is anything but certain heading into Kansas City’s first preseason exhibition.

If he can translate his success on the practice field into a stellar performance against Jacksonville on Saturday, Remigio may be able to overtake Skyy Morre or Justyn Ross on the Chiefs’ unofficial depth chart.

LOOK: Chiefs newcomer scores impressive touchdown at training camp

Check out this video of #Chiefs QB Carson Wentz hitting WR Cornell Powell for a touchdown during Kansas City’s practice session on Friday.

The Kansas City Chiefs signed quarterback Carson Wentz during the 2024 offseason to fill the second-string spot on their depth chart behind reigning Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes.

Though the team will hope that Wentz isn’t forced into action during the regular season, the former first-round pick has put together impressive performances during training camp and seems to be in great form ahead of the Chiefs’ first exhibition game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

During workouts on Friday, Wentz hit receiver Cornell Powell with a perfectly placed pass in the back of the endzone that scored a touchdown against Kansas City’s defense:

If Wentz can translate his practice performances into exceptional showings in the preseason, Chiefs fans might start to feel more at ease with the veteran backup ahead of the team’s Super Bowl defense campaign.

Expect to see Wentz fight for the right to be Mahomes’ backup throughout Kansas City’s three-game preseason schedule.

LOOK: Second-year WR catches touchdown pass at Chiefs training camp

Take a look at this highlight-reel play from Kansas City’s practice session at #Chiefs training camp on Friday

The Kansas City Chiefs made a concerted effort to revamp their depleted wide receiver corps during the 2024 offseason, and Patrick Mahomes is already starting to settle in with his new pass-catchers at training camp.

During Kansas City’s practice session on Friday, Mahomes connected with second-year wideout Rashee Rice in the corner of the endzone for a touchdown after scrambling out of the pocket to deliver a perfectly placed pass to the SMU product.

Check out the impressive connection between Mahomes and Rice, which captivated the audience in attendance during the Chiefs’ drills at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph:

Though Rice will have to fight with Xavier Worthy, Marquise “Hollywood” Brown, Kadarius Toney, and Skyy Morre for targets during Kansas City’s 2024 campaign, plays like this will help cement his role as the Chiefs’ top receiver.

Expect to see more plays like this from Rice and Mahomes when the regular season kicks off in September.

LOOK: Underrated RB makes beautiful catch at Chiefs training camp

The #Chiefs may have a battle brewing behind Isiah Pacheco after this underrated prospect came down with a beautiful catch at practice.

The Kansas City Chiefs are set to defend their Super Bowl LVIII title in 2024 with a new-look offense that should have no problem scoring points through the air with a revitalized receiving corps that features Xavier Worthy and Marquise “Hollywood” Brown.

Though Kansas City’s pass-catchers have stolen much of the spotlight at training camp in St. Joseph, it was running back Deneric Prince who came down with the best grab of the day during the Chiefs’ practice session on Friday.

In a video posted to Twitter by KC Sports Network, Prince can be seen coming down with a beautiful contested catch while working against linebacker Jack Cochrane in one-on-one drills.

Prince is an underrated asset for Kansas City and was among the Chiefs’ most exciting players to watch during training camp in 2023 before failing to make the team’s 53-man roster at the end of the preseason.

With more showings like this in practice and the preseason, Prince could find himself competing for a role as Isiah Pacheco’s backup for Kansas City’s 2024 campaign.

LOOK: Louis Rees-Zammit shares top pictures from Chiefs training camp

Take a look at these photos of #Chiefs RB Louis Rees-Zammit, which were posted by the former rugby star on Twitter.

Former rugby star Louis Rees-Zammit has been one of the Kansas City Chiefs’ most exciting players to watch during training camp, and after a few weeks of NFL practices under his belt, the rising running back is garnering more attention from fans every day.

Though he won’t be expected to push Isiah Pacheco for the starting spot in Kansas City’s backfield, Rees-Zammit has an opportunity to fight for playing time in short-yardage situations and has made his case for a spot on the Chiefs’ 53-man roster in St. Joseph.

This week, Rees-Zammit shared these photos from training camp on his Twitter account:

Few players on the Chiefs’ roster have a better opportunity to make an impact as a rookie than Rees-Zammit, who seems uniquely positioned to earn meaningful snaps in Andy Reid’s offense this year.

Expect to see more from Kansas City’s newest training camp darling as practices continue in St. Joseph.

LOOK: Chiefs DB Joshua Williams’ comical expression during insane Bryan Cook TD

To say that #Chiefs DB Joshua Williams was surprised when Mike Edwards lateraled to Bryan Cook in Week 9 would be an understatement.

Fans weren’t the only people whose eyes bugged out during Bryan Cook’s insane touchdown in the Kansas City Chiefs’ Week 9 matchup against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.

Defensive back Joshua Williams can be seen with a comical expression on his face in a picture of the play that occurred in the second quarter of Kansas City’s international matchup in Frankfurt, Germany.

To say he looked surprised would be an understatement:

Williams didn’t touch the ball but was right in the thick of the action when Mike Edwards lateraled to Cook after recovering a fumble forced by Trent McDuffie. Cook would take the ball more than 50 yards to paydirt to give Kansas City a 21-point lead with mere seconds remaining before halftime.

Pictures like this are a great way to see plays from the perspective of the players who participated in them, and Chiefs Kingdom can certainly relate to the intense emotion displayed by Williams in this shot.

LOOK: Chiefs RB Jerick McKinnon sports new hairstyle for matchup vs. Lions

Jerick McKinnon showed off his bold new hairstyle ahead of the #Chiefs’ matchup against the #Lions on Thursday night.

Kansas City Chiefs running back Jerick McKinnon has quickly become a fan-favorite in his relatively brief career with the team, and his personality is the stuff of legend.

His quick wit, charming personality, and agreeable nature have made him a beloved member of Chiefs Kingdom. Fans got another reason to dote on the speedy rusher on Thursday evening when he showed off his new hairstyle ahead of Kansas City’s matchup against the Detroit Lions.

McKinnon’s new blond look may take some time for fans to get used to, but when he puts his helmet on nobody will be able to tell the difference.

Confidence is key for players in the NFL, and McKinnon certainly seemed to be comfortable with his new hairdo in the clip that the Chiefs shared on Twitter. Now, he will need to make that confidence translate to the field, especially in the passing game as Kansas City is set to take on the Lions without star tight end Travis Kelce.

LOOK: Chiefs LB Leo Chenal recovers fumble vs. Browns

Chiefs linebacker Leo Chenal reccovered a fumble to set up Kansas City’s first scoring drive against the Browns.

The Kansas City Chiefs got off to a hot start against the Cleveland Browns in their preseason finale on Saturday after linebacker Leo Chenal recovered a fumble on the game’s first drive.

The play came on second down when Cleveland attempted to run the ball to set up a third and short situation. Deshaun Watson mishandled the handoff and put the ball on the ground, where Chenal was quick to jump on it before the Browns had a chance to get it back.

Kansas City will need more standout defensive efforts like this if they intend to end their preseason schedule with a second win. The team would have entered this game with a spotless record if not for a heartbreaking defeat at the hands of the New Orleans Saints in their first exhibition matchup in August.

Watch for Chenal to continue playing with an edge as he helps lift the Chiefs’ defense to victory against the Browns.

LOOK: Texas RB Bijan Robinson hanging out with NBA star LeBron James

Bijan Robinson is living his best life.

Texas running back Bijan Robinson is living his best life.

Robinson traveled out to Los Angeles to sit courtside at the Lakers vs. Nuggets matchup on Friday night. After the game, Bijan got the chance to talk with NBA superstar LeBron James.

The Doak Walker Award winner also spent time visiting with Ezekial Elliot and the Dallas Cowboys earlier this month.

Pro scouts expect Robinson to be the first running back taken off the board in the 2023 NFL Draft. ESPN’s latest mock draft has him going as high as the No. 5 overall pick.

Robinson paced Texas’ offense this season with 258 carries for 1,580 yards and 18 rushing touchdowns. He showed off his versatility by adding 19 receptions for 314 yards and two scores as a receiver. Robinson will go down as one of the best running backs to ever wear the burnt orange.
