WATCH: Quandre Diggs gets first interception with Seahawks

Watch as Seattle Seahawks defensive back Quandre Diggs gets his first interception with his new team

A few weeks ago, former Texas Longhorn defensive back Quandre Diggs was traded from the Detroit Lions to the Seattle Seahawks. Last night, Diggs saw his first action with Seattle in a clash between the San Francisco 49ers.

The 49ers went into this Monday Night Football matchup as the only remaining undefeated team in the NFL. The Seahawks were able to stun the 49ers in San Francisco, winning in overtime by a score of 27-24.

About midway through the 3rd quarter, Diggs was able to intercept 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo with the score being 10-7 in favor of San Francisco. This interception led to a Seahawks touchdown, giving them the lead.

On the night, Diggs was able to tally two tackles, one of which was solo, a pass defense, and this interception.

Longhorns football loses yet another commitment

2021 4-star wide receiver Quaydarius Davis has decommitted from the Texas Longhorns

After two long weeks of losing commits and being demoted in the rankings, it seemed like Texas was back on track after upsetting 16th-ranked Kansas State.

But the bad news continues to pile on.

Over the past few weeks, the Longhorns have lost multiple 2020 football recruits as they decommitted from the program. Now, they will lose another prospect, this time from the 2021 class.

On Monday, 2021 4-star wide receiver Quaydarius Davis announced his decision to decommit from Texas. Davis was the first commitment for Texas’ 2021 class.

Davis first posted the news via Twitter.

With the loss of Davis, Texas now has seven commitments for 2021, five of which are 4-stars and two of which are 3-stars. The bad news for the Longhorns has to end sometime, right?

Wide receiver Collin Johnson is injured again

Coming off his best performance of the season, Collin Johnson is injured again. He is not expected to miss time and will play on Saturday.

At his press conference Monday morning, Head Coach Tom Herman told reporters that star wide receiver Collin Johnson injured his hamstring on the game-winning drive against Kansas State.

Johnson will undergo an ‘aggressive’ treatment this week to make sure he is ready to go against Iowa State on Saturday afternoon. The wide receiver did injure his hamstring earlier in the year, but it is believed to be in a different spot this time around. He missed three games earlier this season with that injury.

Coming off his best game of the season, Johnson continues to be critical for the Longhorns. Not only does he create problems for defenses, but his presence lets other receivers get better.

Seven catches were the second-most in the game behind Duvernay and his 110 yards tied Duvernay for the most for either team. His touchdown came on a red-zone flea-flicker from quarterback Sam Ehlinger.

Johnson will be critical for the Longhorns as they travel to Iowa State on Saturday at 2:30 P.M. CST on FS1.

Texas opens up as underdogs against Iowa State

The Texas Longhorns have opened up as underdogs for their game against the Iowa State Cyclones

[jwplayer eRiTXRQP-er0jUifI]

After an unfortunate few weeks for the Longhorns, Texas finally was able to steer the ship and get back in the win column. They did so by defeating the No. 16 Kansas State Wildcats by a score of 27-24.

Heading into week 12, Texas will look to continue the momentum on the road against a tough Iowa State squad. The Cyclones have opened up as early 6.5-point favorites over the Longhorns.

Iowa State is coming off a one-point loss to the Oklahoma Sooners, so we know they can compete with the best. Inconsistency has been Iowa State’s biggest issue.

You can catch the game this upcoming Saturday, November 16th, at 2:30 PM CT on FS1.

After defeating Purdue on Saturday, the Longhorns narrowly miss out on the top 25. Three other Big 12 teams are ranked, including No. 5 KU.

The ACC dominates the top of the poll, as five teams are inside of the top 10. If Texas can beat Georgetown in the 2K Empire Classic, there is a good chance they will face No. 2 Duke in the championship game.

Facing Cal Baptist and Prairie View at home this week, both games can be seen on Longhorn Network. Those two games are 2K Empire Classic campus games, before the real tournament that starts Nov. 21.
