Philadelphia Eagles sign OT Casey Tucker to a deal

Philadelphia Eagles sign OT Casey Tucker to a deal

After acquiring cornerback Josiah Scott via trade, the Eagles just filled out their roster by bringing back offensive tackle Casey Tucker on a one-year deal.

Tucker participated in the Eagles’ Rookie Minicamp last weekend.

Tucker originally signed with the Eagles as an undrafted free agent in 2019, following a rookie minicamp tryout. He was waived by the Eagles prior to the start of the regular season and spent part of 2019 on Detroit’s practice squad, then returned to Philadelphia last April after being waived by the Lions, was waived by the Eagles in August, and then signed to the team’s practice squad last December.

The Colts signed Tucker to a reserve/future following the season.

Colts waive 3 players

Colts made minor roster moves.

The Indianapolis Colts waived punter Austin Rehkow and offensive tackles Elijah Nkansah and Casey Tucker, the team announced Wednesday.

All three players signed reserve/futures contracts in January and were expected to be camp bodies throughout the offseason and preseason.

The Colts have a need at left tackle even with the free-agency signings of Julién Davenport and Sam Tevi this offseason. The consensus remains that the Colts will use an early pick on a left tackle in the draft while Davenport and Tevi battle it out for depth.

Indy is set to be on the clock for the No. 21 in the 2021 NFL draft on Thursday night.

Colts sign OT Casey Tucker to futures contract

Colts add another futures contract.

The Indianapolis Colts signed offensive tackle Casey Tucker to a reserve/futures contract, the team announced Monday.

As the offseason approaches for the Colts, they can sign as many futures contracts as they’d like up until the roster hits 90 players, which doesn’t go into effect until Feb. 8. They will stay on the reserve list and won’t count toward the active roster.

Tucker was an undrafted rookie who signed with the Philadelphia Eagles following the 2019 NFL draft. He also spent time on the practice squads of the Detroit Lions (2019) and Eagles (2020).

Collegiately, Tucker played at Arizona State where he played all along the offensive line.

The Colts signed 16 players to futures contracts on Sunday, including several familiar faces from the practice squad throughout the 2020 season.

Casey Tucker signs to the Philadelphia Eagles practice squad

After bringing Casey Tucker in for a visit over the weekend, the Eagles announced that they’ve signed veteran offensive tackle to the practice squad.

A former undrafted left tackle, Tucker was released by the Detroit Lions after the 2020 NFL Draft and signed by the Eagles.

Tucker was eventually waived to make room for the acquisition of Travis Fulgham.

An Arizona State product, Tucker (concussion) was waived off the Eagles injured reserve list after he suffered a head injury last August.

Antonio Garcia among 3 OTs to tryout for Colts on Monday

Colts brought in 3 OTs.

The Indianapolis Colts brought in three offensive tackles for a tryout, per the league’s transaction wire on Monday.

In light of Le’Raven Clark missing the remainder of the season with a torn Achilles and starter Anthony Castonzo still dealing with an MCL sprain, the Colts are extremely thin at left tackle.

Chaz Green will be the one to replace Clark as the backup and Castonzo if he can’t go against the Raiders in Week 14, but the Colts need to bring in some depth to the offensive line.

Per the wire, the three offensive tackles the Colts brought in on Monday were Antonio Garcia, Casey Tucker and Christian DiLauro. Garcia is a name that has familiarity with the Colts and could be the one they ultimately bring in.

The Colts desperately need some depth on the edge and with Castonzo potentially missing another week, it is likely to be one of these three that are brought in to the active roster.

Final Philadelphia Eagles 53-man roster projection ahead of season opener vs. Washington

Final Philadelphia Eagles 53-man roster projection ahead of season opener vs. Washington

[jwplayer 0ao68phe]

The Philadelphia Eagles are less than one week away from a season-opening showdown in D.C. against Chase Young and the Washington Football Team.

With training camp over and several notable changes to the roster, here’s our final 53 man roster projection with two extra players added because the Birds technically can elevate two practice squad players per week, basically carrying 55 if they so choose.

***

QB – 3 — Carson Wentz, Jalen Hurts, Nate Sudfeld

Sudfeld was the unquestioned backup but Hurts looked sharp at times during training camp. It wouldn’t be a shock if the Eagles moved on from Sudfeld, but if he makes the team he’ll be the backup one week from now.

***

Boston Scott

RB – 3 — Boston Scott, Corey Clement, Miles Sanders

The Eagles appeared prepared to enter the 2020 NFL season with two holdovers from last season and a refurbished Corey Clement, but it appears only three running backs will make the cut.

Look for the undrafted rookie Adrian Killins to find a role on the expanded practice squad after being a part of the first round of cuts.
