Eagles release epic hype video ahead of Week 13 showdown vs. 49ers

The Philadelphia Eagles are willing to do whatever it takes and dropped this epic hype video ahead of Sunday’s matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.

After ten months of talking, speculations, what-ifs, and rule changes, the San Francisco 49ers will get another shot at the Philadelphia Eagles with a healthy Brock Purdy at quarterback.

Purdy was knocked out of the NFC Championship loss to the Eagles.

After Josh Johnson was forced to exit, the NFL instituted a new rule, allowing teams to dress three quarterbacks, with the third signal-caller only entering the game in case of two guys leaving with an injury.

With the matchup now just 24 hours away, the Eagles dropped this epic hype video, letting fans and the Niners know that they”‘ll do “whatever it takes.”

Quarterback Jalen Hurts was 15-25 passing for 121 yards passing on the day, as Philadelphia racked up the bulk of their yards on the ground.

Miles Sanders and Kenneth Gainwell had 40+ yards rushing, while Boston Scott scored a touchdown in his third straight game.

San Francisco quarterback Brock Purdy was forced to exit the first quarter with an elbow injury, and the NFC West champions saw their offense sputter from theirs.

Purdy was forced back into action after fourth-string quarterback Josh Johnson suffered a concussion.

Since then, Deebo Samuel has called James Bradberry “trash,” and Nick Bosa has called for the tush push to be banned.

During the NFL schedule release, 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan was excited about the league giving his team a chance to have a healthy Purdy under center.

Eagles 53-man roster vs. 49ers: News and notes for Week 13

We’re looking at the Philadelphia Eagles updated 53-man roster for the Week 13 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers

The Eagles and 49ers are a little over 40 hours away from an NFC Championship game rematch that has grown contentious since last January.

Philadelphia will be without Zach Cunningham (hamstring), while Fletcher Cox (groin) is a gametime decision.

With kickoff fast approaching, here’s an updated 53-man roster for the Eagles.

Keys for Eagles defense vs. 49ers offense in Week 13

We’re looking at several critical keys for the Philadelphia Eagles defense against the San Francisco 49ers offense in Week 13

The Eagles (10-1) will host the 49ers (8-3) on Sunday afternoon in a rematch of the NFC Championship Game.

This matchup is all about the Philadelphia defense, and their ability to handle, and contain the San Francisco offense.

Dating back to Week 4, Haason Reddick is tied for fourth in the NFL with 15 QB hits, 46 pressures and he’s tied for sixth in the NFL with 8.5 sacks. Josh Sweat has produced the 4th-most pressures (59) in the league, behind Micah Parsons (71), Nick Bosa (66) and Josh Allen (65).

With kickoff fast approaching, here are several critical keys for the Eagles defense.

49ers Week 11 injury report: LT Trent Williams, RT Colton McKivitz not listed

The #49ers will have 4 of its starting 5 on the OL against the Buccaneers.

The 49ers’ offensive line will be almost fully intact Sunday when they host the Buccaneers at Levi’s Stadium.

After the week began with left tackle Trent Williams missing practice and right tackle Colton McKivitz getting a limited designation, it appeared San Francisco might be down a trio of starters on the offensive front. Neither player appeared on the injury report for Sunday’s showdown.

Here’s the full report:

49ers get full practice from LT Trent Williams in lead up to Bucs game

The #49ers’ Thursday practice report had a bit of good news on it:

The 49ers’ practice participation report on Thursday featured a welcome sight. Left tackle Trent Williams was not only back after getting Wednesday off, but he was a full participant in Thursday’s session.

Williams did play in Week 10 after suffering an ankle injury in Week 6 that knocked him out of two games, but he was listed as questionable ahead of last week’s contest after going through only limited practices. That he got through Week 10 without any setbacks and was a full participant in his first Week 11 practice is a good indicator that he’ll be ready to suit up at Levi’s Stadium on Sunday.

Other than that change the 49ers’ participation report was unchanged from Wednesday to Thursday.

Offensive linemen Aaron Banks (toe) and Nick Zakelj (biceps) are both still out since Zakelj hasn’t officially been placed on IR.

Linebacker Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles (ankle) and right tackle Colton McKivitz (ankle, knee) were both limited again.

Defensive end Robert Beal (hamstring), cornerback Darrell Luter (knee) and CB Samuel Womack (knee) are all still full participants while working their way back from injured lists.

49ers practice participation report: No surprises to begin Week 11

Here’s the #49ers practice participation report to start Week 11. No major surprises:

The 49ers began their week of on-field preparation for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers without any major surprises on their participation report.

Three offensive linemen were absent from Wednesday’s sessions including left guard Aaron Banks (toe), left tackle Trent Williams (ankle, rest) and reserve interior OL Nick Zakelj (biceps). Banks is still nursing an injury he suffered in Week 8, and Williams is getting his normal veteran day off while also aiming to get healthier on the ankle he injured in Week 6. Zakelj tore his biceps in Week 10 and was placed on IR. He will be out for the year.

In a bit of good news linebacker Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles (ankle) and right tackle Colton McKivitz (ankle, knee) were both limited. Flannigan-Fowles missed Week 10 and McKivitz was hurt during the game. A limited practice to start the week isn’t a guarantee either player will suit up Sunday vs. Tampa Bay, but early participation is a good sign.

The trio of players whose practice windows were opened the Monday before Week 10 were all full participants. That group includes defensive end Robert Beal (hamstring), cornerback Darrell Luter (knee) and CB Samuel Womack (knee). With Brendel going on IR the 49ers have an open roster spot that could conceivably be filled by one of the players that’s coming off an injured list, although head coach Kyle Shanahan indicated that spot would likely be filled by one of the team’s practice squad offensive linemen.

Jaguars’ Tyson Campbell, Andre Cisco active vs. 49ers

The Jaguars and 49ers will be close to full strength for their Week 10 meeting.

The Jacksonville Jaguars won’t be hampered much by injuries in a Week 10 game against the San Francisco 49ers. While the team will again be without wide receiver Zay Jones, the team made the returns of cornerback Tyson Campbell and safety Andre Cisco official Sunday.

In the team’s list of inactives, released 90 minutes before kickoff, Jones is the only player out due to injury.

Newly acquired offensive lineman Ezra Cleveland, who was questionable due to a toe injury, is also set to make his Jacksonville debut, although he isn’t expected to be in the starting lineup.

The more consequential injury news of the day is that 49ers offensive tackle Trent Williams will play Sunday against the Jaguars.

San Francisco was without Williams and wide receiver Deebo Samuel in the last two games before a Week 9 bye. While Samuel was a full participant in practice this week, Williams sat out Wednesday and was limited both Thursday and Friday. The veteran left tackle was ruled questionable to play.

Defensive tackle Javon Hargrave was also listed as questionable, but is active as well.

49ers injury update: LT Trent Williams expected to play vs. Jaguars

Trent Williams is expected to return for the #49ers on Sunday vs. the Jaguars.

The 49ers are getting their starting left tackle back according to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Schefter late Saturday night Pacific Time reported that Williams is expected to play when the 49ers return from their bye week to face the Jaguars on Sunday.

Williams suffered an ankle injury in Week 6 that kept him out of the 49ers’ Week 7 and Week 8 losses. He didn’t practice Wednesday and was limited the last two practices of the week before being listed as questionable on the injury report.

San Francisco will also get wide receiver Deebo Samuel back for Week 10. He suffered a shoulder injury in Week 6 and also missed the team’s last two games. Samuel was a full participant in practice all week and not on the injury report.

49ers injury report: Trent Williams, Javon Hargrave questionable vs. Jaguars

The #49ers injury report for Week 10 is out and it features two key players in the trenches listed as questionable.

The 49ers may have some health issues in the trenches when they face the Jaguars in Week 10.

Left tackle Trent Williams and defensive tackle Javon Hargrave have both been listed as ‘questionable’ on the official status report for Sunday. They’re two of six players officially questionable.

Here’s the full status report:

Out

LG Aaron Banks (toe)
DE Drake Jackson (knee)

Jackson was limited the first two practices of the week and absent Friday before being officially ruled out. Banks is expected to miss a few weeks after injuring his toe in Week 8 before the bye.

Questionable

DE Robert Beal (hamstring)
LB Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles (ankle)
DT Javon Hargrave (knee)
CB Darrell Luter (knee)
LT Trent Williams (ankle)
CB Samuel Womack (knee)

It’s unlikely we’ll see any of Beal, Luter or Womack in Week 10 since there’s no room on the roster to activate them and the team has three weeks to decide whether to activate them or place them on season-ending IR.

The knee issue for Hargrave is a little concerning since he was a full participant Wednesday before landing on the practice report as a limited participant the last two days of the week.

49ers injury update: LT Trent Williams practices for 1st time since Week 6

Trent Williams was back at practice for the #49ers on Thursday:

There was a welcome sight on the field for the 49ers when they began Thursday’s practice. Left tackle Trent Williams was in uniform and participating for the first time since sustaining an ankle injury in Week 6 against the Browns.

Williams finished out the Week 6 contest, but missed all of Weeks 7 and 8. Head coach Kyle Shanahan’s explanation of Williams’ injury on Wednesday didn’t breed a ton of confidence that the star left tackle would be ready to play Sunday in Jacksonville.

“Just when he’s got a lot of history in there with stuff,” Shanahan said. “It didn’t show up as a high (ankle sprain) or anything like that, but when you’ve had that over your career, there’s a number of things that with how it’s taking longer than expected to heal, it’s more than a low.”

That made Williams’ return for Thursday’s session all the more encouraging, and it certainly improves his chances of playing Week 10.
