Former Alabama WR taking official visit to PAC-12 school

Traeshon Holden was a starter this season for the Crimson Tide. However, he entered the transfer portal and is set to officially visit a PAC-12 program.

Former Alabama wide receiver Traeshon Holden entered the transfer portal just a week ago. Since then, he had been rumored to land at Iowa and is currently on an official visit to Oregon. Holden posted to his Instagram story late on Thursday night that he was in Eugene.

The native of Harbor City, California spent three seasons with the Tide. He hauled in 46 receptions for 570 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. This season was his best as six of his seven touchdown receptions came in 2022.

With Holden likely transferring elsewhere, the Tide faithful got some positive news as reports have circulated regarding wide receiver Jermaine Burton returning for his senior year.

Along with Holden, 12 other Alabama players are also in the transfer portal. Some of the more notable ones are Javion Cohen, Khyree Jackson, and JoJo Earle. It will be interesting to see where the former Tide players end up.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow Alabama football players in the transfer portal.

Elite former Alabama WR Traeshon Holden takes visit to Eugene

Former Alabama WR Traeshon Holden, one of the top players in the transfer portal, appears to be in Eugene for a visit.

It appears that the Oregon Ducks are looking to make an early splash in the transfer portal.

On Thursday night, it became clear that Traeshon Holden, a former Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver who is looking for a new team, is in Eugene for a visit. Holden, one of the top-ranked WRs in the portal this year, is high on our list of potential targets for the Ducks.

As a former 4-star recruit who was rated as the No. 187 player in the 2020 class, Holden has 46 catches for 670 yards and 7 touchdowns. Holden had a breakout season in 2022 with 6 TD’s for the Crimson Tide, making it relatively surprising that he chose to enter the portal.

After losing both Dont’e Thornton and Seven McGee to the portal this year, plus the departure of Chase Cota, the Ducks have a need for more bodies at the WR position. If they were able to get Holden to commit to the Ducks, it would be a massive win for Dan Lanning and his new offensive coordinator, Will Stein.

TRANSFER PORTAL TRACKER: Live updates of Alabama players in the portal

Tracking the former Alabama football players who are currently in the NCAA transfer portal.

From Monday, Dec. 5 through Jan. 18, the college football transfer portal madness will buzz uncontrollably as players from around the country hit the open market to find a new place to call home.

Even [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] and the Alabama Crimson Tide are not immune from the craziness that is the transfer portal. Currently, 13 members of the Alabama football team are in the portal: eight offensive players, three defensive players and one specialist.

Since there are certain to be more names added to the list, we will periodically update our list as news breaks of newer entries to the portal.

Alabama WR Traeshon Holden announces immediate entrance to transfer portal

Traeshon Holden joined Alabama as a 4-star recruit from the 2020 class. He will now explore other options.

Alabama wide receiver Traeshon Holden has announced via Twitter that he will be immediately entering the NCAA Transfer Portal to explore options outside of the Crimson Tide program.

Holden is not the first receiver from the team to enter the portal today, as Christian Leary also tweeted about transferring.

Holden’s message is brief and to the point. He thanks Nick Saban, the rest of the coaching staff and says he’s immediately entering the transfer portal.

The four-star recruit from the 2020 class saw limited action before this season with Alabama. In the 2022 regular season, Holden saw action in 10 games where he reeled in a total of 25 receptions for 331 yards and six touchdowns.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow the Alabama football program as the postseason gets underway and more players enter the portal.

Throwback Thursday: A look back at Alabama’s dominating win over Mississippi State in 2021

The plays that lead to Alabama’s dominating win over Mississippi State in 2021.

Saturday night in Tuscaloosa will feature a pair of top-25 teams who have high-flying offenses and two of the best quarterbacks in college football.

Mike Leach will be bringing his Mississippi State Bulldogs into town to take on [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] and the Alabama Crimson Tide!

The Bulldogs feature the third-best passer of the season so far in junior Will Rogers who has already thrown for over 2,300 yards and 24 touchdowns.

We all remember how poorly the Crimson Tide defense looked last week in Knoxville and I am sure coach Saban and defensive coordinator Pete Golding will have the defenders fired up to take on the Air-Raid attack from Mississippi State.

Last season saw the Crimson Tide completely suffocate the Bulldog offense surrendering just nine points in the contest.

Let’s take a look at the plays that defined last season’s blow-out win for the Tide in Starkville.

LOOK: Alabama fans react to Bryce Young delivering a strike for the game’s first TD

Alabama fans react to Alabama’s first touchdown of the day as Bryce Young delivered on a 33-yard touchdown pass to Traeshon Holden.

Alabama was looking to capitalize early and often in their Week 3 matchup against the Louisiana Monroe Warhawks. Offensive consistency was a big issue last week for the Crimson Tide. That doesn’t seem to be an issue this week.

With just over 13 minutes left in the first quarter, quarterback Bryce Young delivered a strike to wide receiver Traeshon Holden, leading to a 33-yard touchdown.

Alabama looks to stay strong for a full four quarters against a Louisiana Monroe team that is fresh off of a 35-7 victory over Nicholls State.

Roll Tide Wire takes a look at some of the reactions after Alabama’s first touchdown of the game.

POSTGAME REPORT: Alabama dominates Utah State 55-0

Alabama makes quick work of Utah State defeating the Aggies 55-0.

It didn’t take [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] and the Alabama football team long to flex its muscles against Utah State on Saturday night. The Crimson Tide defeated the Aggies 55-0 in dominating fashion.

The Alabama offense was led by reigning Heisman Trophy winner [autotag]Bryce Young[/autotag] who compiled 295 yards of offense and six total touchdowns.

Young would hit both [autotag]Jermaine Burton[/autotag] and [autotag]Traeshon Holden[/autotag] for two touchdown passes each while also connecting with running back [autotag]Jase McClellan[/autotag] for a touchdown.

The Alabama defense completely handled Utah State from start to finish. The Aggies finished with just 136 total yards on offense and mustard just six first downs on the night.

Next up for Alabama is a trip to Austin to take on the Texas Longhorns.

Twitter explodes as Bryce Young flashes athleticism on opening drive

Bryce Young already impressing the nation with his athleticism

Alabama quarterback Bryce Young is coming off of a stellar 2021 season, which included a Heisman Trophy, a conference title win and an appearance in the national championship game.

Now, as he begins his junior season, Young is looking to somehow improve.

In the season-opening drive for the Crimson Tide, Young was forced to scramble outside the pocket, evade defenders and find Traeshon Holden for a big gain.

Alabama fans, and college football fans alike, were impressed by the athleticism he flashed. Whether or not they root for the Crimson Tide, they took to Twitter to share their thoughts on what Young had just achieved.

Alabama’s offensive keys to victory against Utah State

What Alabama needs to do offensively in order to take care of Utah State on Saturday.

In just one day [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] and the Alabama football team will head over to Bryant-Denny Stadium for their 2022 season opener against the Utah State Aggies.

Reigning Heisman Trophy winner [autotag]Bryce Young[/autotag] is set to lead the Alabama offense again in 2022 and the expectations are through the roof for the kid from California.

Despite losing weapons such as Jameson Williams, John Metchie, and Brian Robinson, the Alabama offense looks to showcase some new weapons at receiver and running back. Georgia Tech transfer [autotag]Jahmyr Gibbs[/autotag] and Georgia transfer [autotag]Jermaine Burton[/autotag] will try to pick up some of the load left by the departed.

Utah State’s defensive style is aggressive and Alabama will have to play sound and fundamental football in order to avoid costly turnovers.

Let’s take a look at the five keys to victory for the Crimson Tide offense.

WATCH: Trio of Alabama football players compete in chicken wing eating challenge

Watch as three Alabama football players compete in a chicken wing eating contest!

As if competing on the football field isn’t enough for Alabama football stars [autotag]Traeshon Holden[/autotag] and [autotag]Tyler Harrell[/autotag], the two took to a chicken wing eating contest along with [autotag]Emmanuel Henderson[/autotag] to add something a little different to the competition.

Thanks to Whistle Sports’ “Days Off” series on YouTube, Crimson Tide fans have an inside look at what the current stars of their football program do in their spare time. The video also shows a little more of the off-the-field personalities of Holden and Harrell.

Holden and Henderson tied for second place eating a total of 15 chicken wings in five minutes while Harrell took the victory gobbling down 18.
