A former Carolina Panther led the entire NFL in rushing this past season! So, congratulations to Christian McCaffrey, who is also just days away from playing on the game’s biggest stage.
Now, as we continue to put a bow on the year, let’s look back at each team’s leading rusher from the 2023 regular season.
For a third straight week, the Seahawks trail at half
The Seattle Seahawks are locked in a tight one with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Unlike the last two games, the Seahawks actually have a few highlights from the first half worth sharing!
Pittsburgh got things rolling when on their second possession of the game they went 85 yards in 14 plays, killing nearly eight full minutes from the clock to take a 7-0 lead. The Seahawks answered the call immediately, and started off on the right foot thanks to this completion to DK Metcalf.

Two plays later, Kenneth Walker III scampered in untouched for a 13-yard touchdown to get the Seahawks on the board.

The Steelers retook the lead with a field goal on their next drive, but the Seahawks answered once more. This time, Geno Smith found rookie sensation Jaxon Smith-Njigba on third down for the second touchdown of the day.

Unfortunately, the Seahawks immediately surrendered a touchdown drive to Pittsburgh. Neither team has seemed particularly interested in slowing down the other, leading to makings of a rather unexcepted shootout. After holding the Steelers to a turnover on downs on their first drive, Pittsburgh went on to score on their next three straight possessions. The only other time they did not score was on their final possession before the first half expired.

With the linebacker depth already thin, Philadelphia will counter Saquon Barkley with Shaquille Leonard, VanSumeren, and Brandon Smith, who was elevated from the practice squad for today’s game.
Guard Cam Jurgens will start at right guard after missing last week’s game in Seattle. Wide receiver DeVonta Smith was a limited participant at practice on Saturday but has no game status designation and will play.

With Nicholas Morrow and Zach Cunningham dealing with injuries, the Eagles elevated linebacker Brandon Smith from the practice squad for the Christmas Day matchup against the Giants.
Cunningham was ruled out for Monday’s game with a knee injury, while Morrow is questionable with an abdomen injury.
Morrow did not practice all week.
Philadelphia elevated second-year defensive back Tristin McCollum, adding depth on special teams.

McCollum made his NFL debut in Week 4, playing 20 special teams snaps in an overtime victory against the Washington Commanders.
He has spent the rest of the season on the practice squad.
Smith is a second-year linebacker out of Penn State and will make his Eagles debut against the Giants.
A fourth-round Panthers pick in 2022, Smith played 12 games with one start for Carolina last season.
He made five tackles in 53 defensive snaps.
