Coach Prime Factor: Every 2023 Colorado commitment since Deion Sanders was hired

Deion Sanders is getting busy rebuilding Colorado’s football program in his own image.

Deion Sanders is getting busy rebuilding Colorado’s football program in his own image.

Since Sanders was hired as the Buffaloes’ new head coach a couple weeks ago, hundreds of recruits have reached out and a few high-profile names have verbally committed – including 2025 five-star wide receiver Winston Watkins Jr., cousin of NFL receiver Sammy Watkins.

The Buffaloes have also added a few more recruits to their 2023 class since. Here’s a look at everyone who has committed  since Sanders was hired.

Five LSU recruiting targets to keep an eye on as the early signing period nears

The Tigers are looking for a strong close to an already good recruiting class.

We are only a few days away from the beginning of the early signing period on Wednesday, and the 2023 class is shaping up to be a phenomenal one for LSU.

The class was already ranked as the No. 5 class in the country before [autotag]Aaron Anderson[/autotag] committed, and now the Alabama wideout transfer has added a former five-star to the mix. The Tigers have a chance to land a few more guys as well.

A couple of them will be signing on Thursday in cornerback [autotag]Desmond Ricks[/autotag] and defensive lineman [autotag]Jordan Hall[/autotag] — two really talented guys on the defensive side of the ball. LSU is considered the favorite for Ricks while Georgia seems to lead for Hall, but anything can happen.

Here are five prospects for Tigers fans to watch as the 2023 class winds to a close.

Elite DL Jordan Hall sets commitment date

Will four-star DL Jordan Hall commit to the Georgia Bulldogs? Things are looking pretty good for the Dawgs.

Westside High School defensive tackle Jordan Hall is ready to commit.

Hall, a member of the class of 2023, plans to commit on Dec. 22 at 2:30 p.m. ET. Hall’s decision will come on early signing day. The four-star defensive lineman plans to make his commitment at his high school in Jacksonville, Florida.

The 6-foot-4, 300-pound defensive tackle is the No. 72 player in the senior class. Hall is the No. 9 defensive lineman and the No. 15 player in Florida.

Hall is favored to commit to the Georgia Bulldogs. The four-star is also considering LSU, Florida and Alabama.

The Georgia Bulldogs and Kirby Smart have 23 commitments in the senior class. Right now, Georgia has the second-ranked class of 2023 in the country. Hall would join four-star defensive tackle Jamaal Jarrett as Georgia’s only defensive line commitments. The Bulldogs also have commitments from a pair of edge defenders.

Hall received a scholarship offer from Georgia football in 2021. The four-star defensive lineman announced his commitment date and top schools via Twitter:

4-star LSU DL target sets commitment date

The Tigers will hope to pull the Jacksonville prospect away from Florida and Georgia.

We’re just over a week out from early signing day, but LSU will have to wait just a bit longer to find out where one of its top remaining targets is heading.

Four-star Westside (Jacksonville, Fla.) defensive lineman [autotag]Jordan Hall[/autotag] will announce his decision on Dec. 22. The 6-foot-4.5, 300-pound pass-rushing interior lineman is set to choose between Florida, Georgia, Alabama and LSU.

Hall is ranked as the No. 117 overall player and No. 16 defensive lineman in the 2023 class, per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He released a top-five at the beginning of November but has since cut Ohio State from that list.

Hall has several recent Crystal Ball projections to Georgia, and the Bulldogs are given an 85.6% chance to land him, per the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.

LSU has recently lost a pair of defensive line commitments in the 2023 class in [autotag]Darron Reed[/autotag], who flipped to Auburn, and [autotag]Joshua Mickens[/autotag]. Adding a player like Hall would be a major get for Kelly, though that would be a fairly big surprise at this point.

4-star DL sets decision date during early signing period, Florida in top 4

One of Florida’s top-remaining undecided targets has set a decision date and says he’s locked in a silent commitment.

Four-star Westside (Jacksonville, Florida) defensive lineman [autotag]Jordan Hall[/autotag] knows where he’ll be playing college ball, but he’s not announcing his decision until Dec. 22, according to On3.

Hall has narrowed things down to four programs publicly: Florida, Alabama, Georgia and LSU. He’s already locked in with one of those teams but will be holding out until the early signing period kicks off to let the world know. The timing of this decision might hint at Georgia being out of the race — the Bulldogs will get his final official visit over the Dec. 9 weekend — but UGA currently leads the On3 recruiting prediction machine with an overwhelming 85.6% chance to land Hall.

Florida appears to be the next best-positioned team to earn a commitment after hosting Hall nearly 10 times over the past year and a half. Most recently, the Gators got Hall on campus for an official visit the weekend of Dec. 2. That trip coincides with Hall’s declaration of being decided, but things are too up in the air for Florida to head into the early signing period confidently on this one.

Still, whichever team has secured a pledge from Hall, has earned all of his respect.

“It feels like home there. I feel like I can grow, be myself, and not have to worry about too much,” he said. “I don’t have to be ‘Big Baby.’ I’m just Jordan there. I feel I can grow and develop. On the D-line there, with the coaches, I feel like I’ll be one of the guys to be a first-round pick honestly.”

Wherever Hall lands, Florida will have to scheme for him in the near future. He’s an SEC talent that’s wanted by the very best. Beating Georgia out for him would be a significant win for Billy Napier and Co.

Hall is the No. 58 overall prospect in the class of 2023 regardless of position, according to the On3 consensus. He ranks seventh among defensive linemen in the class and 13th in the state Florida. On3’s individual rankings are even more bullish on Hall, ranking him at No. 29 nationally and No.4 among those at his position.

These 3 recruits making official visits with Florida this weekend

With the end of the non-contact period now over, the Gators are back to the recruiting grind this weekend.

Florida football’s recruiting efforts are back in high gear — not that [autotag]Billy Napier[/autotag] and Co. were not grinding away the entire time — now that the NCAA’s quiet period has elapsed, which makes for an exciting start to a busy month of December.

There are plenty of items on the docket as the team’s brass looks to improve upon 2022’s results while continuing to push the program forward into what is hopefully an era of great success. Part of that effort starts with the 2023 recruiting class — the first full class of preps hand-picked by Napier himself — this weekend when a trio of blue-chip 2023 prospects make their way to Gainesville for their official visits.

Take a look below at the three big names who will be on campus for the first weekend of December

This 2023 blue-chip DL narrows list to 5 including Florida

The Gators are still in the mix for this big-time defensive line recruit.

Florida football’s 2022 campaign is still rolling along as the Gators grind out the remainder of their grueling schedule, but the upcoming opponents have not been the only focus for [autotag]Billy Napier[/autotag] and his staff. Unlike his predecessor, the new skipper has taken an all-out approach to recruiting by putting as much effort in during the season as the off-season.

The new regime’s efforts have not gone unnoticed as evidenced by the latest blue-chip recruit to include the Orange and Blue among their top schools. Four-star defensive lineman [autotag]Jordan Hall[/autotag] out of Jacksonville (Florida) Westside recently announced his top five schools and offered the following to Gators Sports.

“Florida probably has been the team in my recruitment that I’ve loved the most,” Hall said. “The love the new staff has shown since they’ve been there has been absolutely crazy, and I can’t really find anything bad to say about them.  I mean yeah, the season isn’t going so good, but it’s Napier’s first year so it isn’t ever gonna be good or great. But I love it there. It feels like home and it’s close to my family. Not that it’s a factor in my recruitment, it’s just easy access for them, but I really love UF.”

The 6-foot-4.5-inch, 300-pound rising senior also has the Alabama Crimson Tide, LSU Tigers, Ohio State Buckeyes and Georgia Bulldogs making his latest cut.

Hall is ranked No. 119 overall and No. 18 at his position nationally according to the 247Sports composite while the On3 consensus has him at Nos. 103 and 10, respectively. The Bulldogs hold four of 247Sports’ crystal ball predictions while the Florida State Seminoles still claim the fifth. On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine gives Georgia an 87.5% chance of landing the highly-sought recruit, with ‘Bama in second at 3.8% and Florida third at 2.9%.

Ohio State makes cut for another top rated 2023 defensive lineman

Four-star defensive lineman has high praise for Buckeyes. #GoBucks

Ohio State has learned that it is in the final five for 2023 defensive lineman Jordan Hall. While the Jacksonville, Florida native has been on the radar for a while, most have him pegged for a school closer to home.

Even so, crystal ball predictions are never an exact science. Florida State was given a pick to land Hall and the Seminoles didn’t even make the top five. Hall is the No. 18 ranked defensive lineman in the country according to 247Sports composite rankings. Joining the Buckeyes in that group of five are Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and LSU.

At this time, Hall has yet to take a visit to Columbus but is scheduled to take an official visit for The Game on November 26. There is no better atmosphere in which to host a coveted recruit.

When talking to On3 about what he liked about each school, Hall had this to say about OSU.

“If you’re looking at schools that are going to help you be the best player, other than Coach Odell (Haggins) and Coach Scott at Georgia, Coach Larry Johnson is probably the best at what he does as a position coach. They’ve got all types of great offense and offensive line for me to compete against, and they have a great set of DBs. As long I can get to the ball, make plays and get my sacks, the DBs are going to get picks from it. I just like the way they operate. That’s just the competitor’s spirit in me, and I want to go against the best. I feel like I fit in there, and Coach Johnson, he’s one of a kind. I like him a lot. Coach Day seems like a cool guy as well, and I just want to get up there and see what they have to offer and what it’s like.” – Jordan Hall on Ohio State

Georgia is seen as the front-runner right now as Hall has a very solid relationship with the Bulldog coaching staff. But never underestimate how much a personal visit can do, especially one with the magnitude of Ohio State vs. Michigan.

Hall is expected to finish all of his official visits by early December before trimming his list one more time to three. The four-star lineman plans to commit and sign on December 21 during the early signing period.
