Several Alabama signees finish as 5-stars in recent On3 rankings update

Nick Saban is showing no signs of slowing down both on the field and on the recruiting trail

Traditional signing day is just a little over a week away and although Nick Saban and Alabama have pretty much wrapped up its class of 2022, player rankings continue to be updated.

On Monday, On3 Sports released its updated On300 rankings and several of Alabama’s signees finished with five-star status.

The Crimson Tide came in at No. 2 in the country in the consensus rankings just behind Texas A&M.

In total, Alabama saw five of its signees finish with a five-star rating. Of those, three were on offense and two were on defense. Here is every five-star signee the Crimson Tide has for the class of 2022.

To top things off, the updated rankings also show that in total, Alabama landed 15 of the top 100 players according to On3. Here are the remaining signees who finished inside of the top 100.

The class of 2022 is absolutely loaded for Saban and the Tide and it should be a lot of fun to watch these prospects develop over the next few seasons.

SIGNED: 5-Star LB Jeremiah Alexander signs on with Alabama

Alabama earns another 5-star in LB Jeremiah Alexander.

The Crimson Tide have added another five-star recruit, and this time it is Jeremiah Alexander, a 6-foot-2, 235 pound outside linebacker/EDGE from Alabaster, Alabama.

Alexander is another product of Thompson high school, which has churned out elite talent after elite talent.

His recruitment has long been shutdown. Alexander verbally committed to the Crimson Tide back in early July of 2021. By signing with Alabama, he turns down offers from Georgia, Clemson, USC and Oklahoma among others.

Alabama’s top commits for the class of 2022

Let’s take a look at a few of Alabama’s top commits for the class of 2022.

With early signing day coming up tomorrow, I thought it was a good time to take a look at the current commitment lists and highlight some of the key additions Nick and Alabama will be making to its squad.

We will look at a handful of players from each side of the ball that I believe will be key contributors for the Tide down the road.

I also believe that all the players we will be looking at today are really solid to the Crimson Tide and will sign tomorrow.

Let’s roll!

Offensive players

  1. Ty Simpson, QB, 6’1″, 200, Martin, TN
  2. Emmanuel Henderson, RB, 6’1″, 185, Hatford, AL
  3. Kobe Prentice, WR, 5’10”, 175, Calera, AL

Defensive players

  1. Jeremiah Alexander, EDGE, 6’2″, 235, Alabaster, AL
  2. Shawn Murphy, LB, 6’3″, 211, Manasses, VA
  3. Jaheim Oatis, DL, 6’5″, 388, Columbia, MS

Now, I am clearly excited about the entire class of 2022, but these six players are really special and have a chance to make a significant impact in Tuscaloosa.

Since Brent Venables departed for Oklahoma on Sunday, all three of Clemson’s IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) commits have decomitted, including four-star defensive end Jihaad Campbell and four-star cornerback Daylen Everette.

Judging by social media, it appears that the former Clemson commit(s) are on respective visits to the University of Alabama this weekend.

Campbell was spotted dining with Alabama head coach Nick Saban and Thompson (Alabaster, Ala.) 2022 five-star edge rusher Jeremiah Alexander — an Alabama commit — who snapped the photo of the trio and posted it on Twitter.

As for Everette, he appeared to arrive in Tuscaloosa late Friday night.

Both Campbell and Everette took in their official visits just three weeks ago and appeared to be locked in for before making the surprise move(s) to decommit late this week.

Breaking: Alabama lands elite, five-star pass rusher

Nick Saban has Alabama ROLLING on the recruiting trail!

Alabama has landed yet another elite pass-rushing prospect. On Thursday afternoon, in-state edge player Jeremiah Alexander from Thompson High School made his pledge to the Crimson Tide.

The 6-foot-2, 235-pound defender had narrowed his list of possible schools down to Clemson, Georgia, UCF and Alabama, but Nick Saban and company came out on top for the state’s No. 1 prospect.

That decision was officially made public via social media, and now it’s time to see where the Crimson Tide will land in the updated recruiting rankings after Alexander’s commitment. Check out the announcement from Hayes Fawcett:

According to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, Alexander is rated as the nation’s No. 16 overall prospect, No. 1 edge player and No. 1 player from the state of Alabama.

He becomes the fourth commitment for the program since June 6, joining four-star running back Le’veon Moss and two athletes, three-star Amari Niblack and four-star Antonio Kite. Alexander’s pledge also makes the commitment No. 10 for the Crimson Tide.

Prior to the news, Alabama was sitting with the No. 15 class (No. 5 in the SEC), but it’s possible — likely even — that they find themselves with a top-10 class in the near future.

It’s incredible to think about all the talented edge players Alabama has added in it’s last three recruiting classes. Just check it out for yourself:

Alabama managed to land its first commitment for the 2022 recruiting class on Monday, as Jeremiah Alexander out of Alabaster (Ala.) pledged to the Crimson Tide.

The four-star weakside defensive end, who is currently rated as the top player from the state of Alabama in the 2022 class, made the announcement via his Twitter account:

Alabama already added an impressive group of edge players, including William Anderson, Chris Braswell, Drew Sanders and Quandarrius Robinson, in its 2020 recruiting class.

With that said, a player of Alexander’s caliber will be the perfect candidate to be involved in that next wave of top Crimson Tide defenders capable of getting after the quarterback.

According to 247Sports, Alexander is rated as the No. 9 overall player for the class of 2022, as well as the No. 2 weakside defensive end. Rivals.com still hasn’t give Alexander a ranking, but that should be coming soon!
