4-star safety commits to Georgia

Kirby Smart and Georgia football lock down 2020 DB commit, flipped from LSU.

The Georgia Bulldogs have just locked down the #11 safety of the class of 2020, Major Burns.

Burns is a 6’2″, 176 lb wide-framed DB out of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  The highly sought after safety de-committed from his hometown LSU Tigers this week and visited with Kirby Smart and staff just days after.

Burns announced over twitter on Tuesday that he has officially committed to the G.

This is a huge addition for Kirby as he will look to replace the likes of J.R. Reed and Richard LeCounte in the Bulldog’s secondary.

Burns had notable offers from LSU, Florida, Oklahoma and Texas A&M, but dropped them all for the Dawgs.  This is one of the many bombshells that will be dropped within the next two days and is a huge win for the Dawgs.

UGA recruiting: four-star Jacorey Brooks releases top schools

The Georgia Bulldogs, Miami Hurricanes, FSU Seminoles and several SEC schools made four-star WR Jacorey Brooks top seven schools.

Four-star wide receiver Jacorey Brooks put the Georgia Bulldogs in his top seven schools. Brooks is a top-ten receiver in the class of 2021. He plays for Booker T. Washington High School in Miami, Florida.

Brooks placed Florida State, Texas A&M, LSU, Georgia, Miami, Alabama, and Florida in his top schools:

Georgia football is recruiting Florida as hard as ever in recent seasons. Florida’s major powerhouse programs haven’t been recruiting at an elite level in recent seasons and Georgia, Clemson, and Alabama have been there to pick up the slack. The Florida Gators have been doing better since Dan Mullen took over.

Georgia currently has a WR commitment in the class of 2020 from the Miami-Fort Lauderdale area in Marcus Rosemy. The 2020 early signing day is just around the corner for college football.

Former Georgia commit chooses Bulldog rival

Former Georgia football commit chose to commit to the Florida Gators.

This week, Georgia suffered its first de-commitment since the departure of offensive line coach Sam Pittman to Arkansas.

2020 4-star offensive tackle Josh Braun, who de-committed from Georgia, has chosen to commit to the Florida Gators.

Braun ranks as the nation’s No. 285 overall player, No. 22 offensive tackle and 49th player in the state of Florida.

Georgia now has the nation’s eighth ranked class for 2020 and will need to turn on the burners down the stretch to land a top-five class.

Florida has passed the Dawgs and sits at No. 6 in the nation after the commitment of Braun.

Braun, out of Suwanee High School in Live Oak, Florida, was one of five commitments Pittman had secured on the offensive line.

Despite the decommitment, Georgia is still in good shape with four offensive linemen committed in the class of 2020.

Georgia loses commitment from 4-star OT – Trending toward Florida?

Georgia football lost a commitment from a 4-star offensive tackle on Wednesday.

Georgia has now suffered its first de-commitment since the departure of offensive line coach Sam Pittman to Arkansas.

2020 4-star offensive tackle Josh Braun has backed off his commitment from Georgia and appears to be trending toward Florida, according to 247Sports’ Crystal Ball.

“I have taken a step back from my commitment and am reassessing my recruitment,” Braun told 247Sports. “I committed to play under Coach Pittman, since he left my commitment is void.”

Braun ranks as the nation’s No. 285 overall player, No. 22 offensive tackle and 49th player in the state of Florida.

Braun, out of Suwanee High School in Live Oak, Florida, was one of five commitments Pittman had secured on the offensive line.

Despite the decommitment, Georgia is still in good shape with four offensive linemen committed in the class of 2020.

After the recent hiring of Ole Miss head coach Matt Luke to fill Pittman’s position in Georgia, I would expect Georgia to reel in a couple more commitments on the line. And given the relationship Pittman built with Georgia’s current commits, it would not come as a shock to see another one back off of his commitment to the Dawgs.

The Dawgs will be fine.

Georgia loses commitment from speedy WR

Georgia football recruiting took a hit this week with the decommitment of a speedy wide receiver.

Georgia lost a commitment from a speedy wide receiver on Tuesday night.

Corey Wren, a three-star wide receiver in the class of 2020, tweeted that he would be re-opening his recruitment.

According to Jeff Sentell of DawgNation, Wren will no longer be considering the Bulldogs moving forward, saying it was a “situation he didn’t feel was right for him.”

Wren ranks as the 520th athlete in the class of 2020, 25th athlete and 23rd player in the state of Louisiana.

Wren originally committed to the University of Georgia over the summer, choosing the Bulldogs over Arizona State and Houston.

Georgia now has 15 commits in the class of 2020, including two four-star wide receivers Marcus Rosemy and Justin Robinson. Georgia will look to add a commitment from four-star Lakeland, Florida wide receiver Arian Smith, who ranks as the 75th overall player in the class of 2020.

The class currently ranks 5th in the nation and is highlighted by 5-stars outside linebacker Mekhail Sherman and offensive tackle Broderick Jones.

Has an official visit coming soon with the Bulldogs.

Georgia, Alabama miss out on 5-star linebacker

Georgia football, Alabama and a few other SEC schools missed out on a commitment from 5-sta LB Noah Sewell.

Georgia, Alabama and a few other SEC contenders missed out on securing a commitment from a five-star linebacker on Friday night from the class of 2020.

Noah Sewell, the nation’s No. 2 inside linebacker out of Orem, Utah, tweeted his commitment to Oregon after winning the Utah 5A state title game on Friday.

Sewell, a 6-2 266 pound linebacker, is a monster of a player who is too small for the defensive tackle position but too big for a defensive back. Once he slims down a bit and adds some more speed, he will be a huge difference maker for Oregon for years.

Sewell comes from a football family. He has three brothers who currently play college football; one is an offensive tackle at Oregon, one is a linebacker at Nevada and the other plays safety at Utah.

Sewell visited Georgia on September 21st for the Bulldogs’ game vs Notre Dame.
