Florida fans melt down after key Gators enter the transfer portal

Florida football has not had a winning season since the shoe throw in 2020

The Georgia Bulldogs have seen numerous players enter the transfer portal, but it is nothing compared to what the Florida Gators are experiencing.

On Thursday, star Florida running back Trevor Etienne entered the transfer portal. Etienne joins more than a dozen Gators in the portal.

Florida’s top edge rusher, Princely Umanmielen, entered the transfer portal earlier this week along with talented safety Kamari Wilson.

Life is tough for Florida fans. The Gators have not had a winning season since the 2020, which was when the shoe-throw incident occurred. The Gators have a strong incoming recruiting class, but that could unravel fast.

In contrast, Georgia football has won two national championships and has produced three consecutive undefeated regular seasons since the shoe throw.

Florida football fans are running out of patience after a 5-7 season. The transfer portal is purging the Gators’ roster, and Florida fans are very concerned about how things are going under head coach Billy Napier.

What Florida coach Billy Napier said ahead of the Georgia game

Head coach Billy Napier and the Florida Gators are preparing to face the No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs

Head coach Billy Napier and the Florida Gators enter the Georgia game as significant underdogs against the defending back-to-back national champion Bulldogs.

Florida is 5-2 to start the year and is getting solid production out of starting quarterback Graham Mertz, a Wisconsin transfer. The Gators have had highs (a comeback road win at South Carolina) and lows (Kentucky bullied the Gators with its rushing attack) to start the season.

Napier and Florida are recruiting at a very high level in the class of 2024. The future is looking up for Florida’s program for the time being. However, we know Florida hates losing to Georgia.

Utah’s official social media account roasts Florida after win

Utah football’s official social media page shows Florida no mercy after season opening win over the Gators

The Florida Gators did not get off to the start they were hoping for in 2023. Florida fell on the road to the Utah Utes, 24-11.

The Gators could not stay within striking distance against a Utah team that was missing starting quarterback Cam Rising and star tight end Brant Kuithe.

Florida looked out of sorts in the defeat. The Gators had several false start penalties, a missed short field goal and an interception.

Florida had a rare penalty for having two players wearing No. 3 at the same time that allowed Utah to convert a fourth down. The Utes scored a touchdown several plays later.

Florida’s shortcomings on the road were music to the ears of Georgia Bulldogs fans. Utah’s official social media account wasted no time trolling the Gators after the Utes’ win.

Former Florida coach Dan Mullen names preseason top 25

Florida misses the cut in Dan Mullen’s preseason top 25

ESPN college football analyst and former Florida Gators and Mississippi State Bulldogs head coach Dan Mullen has named his college football preseason top 25.

Both of Mullen’s former teams are nowhere to be found in his top 25, although Mullen has six SEC teams in his top 25.

College football looks pretty balanced at the top ahead of the 2023 season. Just about any team in Mullen’s top 15 is capable of making a run to the College Football Playoff.

Mullen shows a lot of respect to two of his previous biggest rivals: Florida State Seminoles and Georgia Bulldogs. He has the Seminoles as his highest-ranked team in the ACC and the Bulldogs as his highest-ranked team in the SEC.

Twitter reacts to Florida’s low-scoring spring game

Florida and SEC Twitter were not impressed with the Gators’ spring game performance.

The Florida Gators did not have the most entertaining spring game. Florida’s Orange team defeated the Blue team 10-7.

Spring games typically have some built-in advantages for the defense. The defense can sack quarterbacks more easily and the offensive scheme typically takes more practice to learn. However, quarterbacks don’t get hit in spring games.

Perhaps Florida will miss quarterback Anthony Richardson a great deal in 2023. The Gators face a tough slate in the fall, but have a considerable amount of talent.
