Former Tide lineman announces transfer to UConn

Dayne Shor, an offensive lineman from the 2022 recruiting class, has announced that he is leaving Alabama for UConn.

A member of Alabama’s 2022 recruiting class has announced his departure from the program.

[autotag]Dayne Shor[/autotag], an offensive lineman from Alpharetta, Ga., announced via Twitter Sunday that he has committed to UConn from the Transfer Portal.

Shor, a previous commit to UConn, leaves Alabama after just one semester at the University. In a report by On3, Barkley Truax cited Shor’s recent struggles with mental health. After announcing his decision to enter the transfer portal, Shor opened up about his mental health.

In the tweet, Shor revealed that he has suffered through the pain of depression and anxiety. He also showed appreciation towards the Herren Project, as well as everyone at Alabama for supporting him in his efforts to “better himself.”

Shor, who began his career at Denmark High School in Alpharetta, Ga. before finishing his high school career at IMG Academy, was the no. 34 OT in the nation, and the no. 35 overall prospect from the Peach State. Alabama landed the no. 2 overall recruiting class for the 2022 cycle, landing behind just Texas A&M for the top spot.

Freshman Alabama OT Dayne Shor enters NCAA transfer portal

Before experiencing his first regular season game, the incoming true freshman has entered the NCAA transfer portal.

The 2022 recruiting class for the Crimson Tide has yet to play a regular season game, but one member has already entered the NCAA transfer portal. Today, Matt Zenitz of On3 reports that incoming true freshman offensive tackle [autotag]Dayne Shor[/autotag] has entered his name in the portal.

Shor committed to the Crimson Tide late July in 2021. The three-star offensive tackle from Denmark chose Alabama over Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Auburn and others.

There’s no clear reason as to why Shor entered the transfer portal, but it may be because of his expected spot on the depth chart.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to cover Dayne Shor’s journey through the NCAA transfer portal, as well as other related Alabama football news.

Alabama’s 2022 early enrollees include nine top 100 recruits

The season has come to an end and it is time to start shifting our focus to the team that will take the field in 2022.

Nick Saban and his staff had a fantastic early signing period back in December, and several of those prospects have already enrolled at the university.

Among those that have enrolled early, nine of the twelve are top 100 recruits according to the On3 consensus rankings.

Below is the complete list of early enrollees and their On3 consensus rankings.

5 takeaways from Alabama’s early signing day

5 early signing day takeaways for Alabama

Yesterday, Nick Saban and Alabama hauled in some of the top talent from around the country on early signing day.

Currently, the Tide sits with the second-ranked class in the nation according to On3.

Now that the dust has settled and we have had time to reflect on some of the events from a wild Wednesday, I thought we could take a few moments to look at some of the key takeaways from this steller class for the Crimson Tide.

Let’s get started!

SIGNED: 3-star OL Dayne Shor signs letter of intent

Alabama lands a signee that was recruited by other massive programs!

Alabama has landed numerous four stars in the early signing period, and even added a five-star player in the mix. Dayne Shor, an offensive lineman from Georgia, is the first three-star signee for the Crimson Tide.

Shor stands at 6-foot-6, 295 pounds and may be overlooked by casual fans because of the number of stars he has, but that certainly does not describe his capabilities.

He held offers from other top programs all across the nation. Oregon, Georgia, Texas A&M, Oklahoma and Tennessee among others extended offers to Shor.

Stay up to date with Alabama’s 2022 class with Roll Tide Wire’s ‘Early Signing Day Tracker.’

Alabama lands 4-star 2022 OL Dayne Shor

Alabama landed another four-star prospect on Saturday! 👀

Alabama continues to gain momentum on the recruiting trail here in the month of July by adding its sixth commit of the month in offensive lineman Dayne Shor.

Shor announced his commitment on Saturday via his Twitter account.

Shor is a four-star prospect according to the ESPN and the Rivals rankings while being rated a three-star on the 247 Composite rankings.

Shor missed his junior season with a shoulder injury but looks to have a monster senior year that could see him climb up in the recruiting rankings.

Shor chose the Tide over the likes of Florida, Oklahoma, Oregon, and Texas A&M among others.

Four-star UGA recruiting target locks in commitment date

The Georgia Bulldogs are among the top 10 schools for four-star offensive tackle recruit Dayne Shor

The Georgia Bulldogs are among the top 10 schools for four-star offensive tackle recruit Dayne Shor, who plans to announce his commitment on July 31. Georgia offensive line coach Matt Luke is recruiting the talented class of 2022 offensive line prospect.

Shor stands at 6 feet, 6 inches and weighs 295 pounds. Unfortunately, he missed his 2020 season with IMG Academy after he suffered a shoulder injury. The good news regarding Shor’s health is he’s able to play baseball now, so he should be ready to start the 2021 season.

Shor will play next season for King’s Ridge Christian School in Alpharetta, Georgia.

The Alabama Crimson Tide is a team to watch with Shor, who is the No. 263 recruit in the country. Shor is rated the No. 28 offensive tackle in the nation. He recently attended Alabama’s spring game.

One of Shor’s hobbies is playing paintball. He made that known to the world with a unique paintball-themed edit of his top 15 schools. Since then, Shor has trimmed his list of top schools to 10.

The elite offensive tackle will decide among Oregon, Oklahoma, USC, Alabama, Texas A&M, Louisville, Tennessee, Georgia, UCF and Florida on July 31. Shor was projected to attend Auburn, but the Tigers did not crack his top 10.

Four-star offensive tackle to join group at ‘ChampU BBQ’

You can add 2022 four-star offensive tackle Dayne Shor to the list of prospects to attend during the ‘ChampU BBQ’ event in June.

One of the top targets for Oklahoma Sooners offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh will be attending the annual recruiting event in June. Potential recruits and commits have already been announcing that they will indeed take their official visit during the three-day event hosted by OU football.

Kobie McKinzie is one of the talented players to come to Norman for his official visit, despite the fact that he already committed. This will be the first time since last March that players can have face-to-face contact with coaches, provided they do lift the dead period as expected.

A 2022 Four star offensive tackle from Georgia, Dayne Shor has announced that he will join in on the festivities.

According to 247Sports, Shor is the No. 29 overall offensive tackle in the country. He is also listed as the No. 24 player in the state of Georgia. Shor has one crystal ball prediction that is leaning Auburn but the confidence level is low. It would be hard to fathom that the Sooners don’t have the inside track with him.

2022 four-star offensive tackle releases top schools

The Oklahoma Sooners joined two other teams in 2022 five-star offensive tackle Dayne Shor’s top school’s list.

One of the most important positions in all of college football is the offensive tackle. They are responsible for minimizing the impact of a defensive end, protect the quarterback, and pave the way in the run game. The emphasis in any recruiting class should be securing top talent upfront.

Oklahoma Sooners and Bill Bedenbaugh could be closing in on a top offensive tackle talent from the state of Georgia. Dayne Shor released his top schools with OU right in the thick of it. The other two should come as no surprise with the Crimson Tide and the Trojans joining the fray.

Shor would be the first offensive lineman to commit to the Sooner if it came soon. The four-star offensive tackle is ranked No. 23 overall at his position according to 247Sports composite rankings. Rivals has him rated at No. 16 at offensive tackle.
