Five-star UGA defensive back commitment makes it know that he is sticking with Georgia football despite Fran Brown’s departure

Five-star defensive back Ellis Robinson IV isn’t going anywhere. Robinson IV and other Georgia defensive back commitments are evaluating their commitment to Georgia after defensive backs coach Fran Brown accepted the head coach job at Syracuse.

Head coach Kirby Smart and Georgia have the No. 1 recruiting class in the SEC and in the country. In today’s pass-heavy college football world, teams need excellent talent and skill at the cornerback position. Ellis Robinson IV and other Georgia defensive back commitments have to feel very comfortable with the Bulldogs because both Kirby Smart and co-defensive coordinator Will Muschamp played defensive back at Georgia.

Robinson IV, who committed to the Georgia Bulldogs in February is planning to sign with the Bulldogs. College football programs, including Miami and Alabama, have previously made a strong push to flip the 6-foot-1, 175-pound defensive back.

247Sports ranks Robinson IV as the No. 3 recruit in the nation and the No. 1 cornerback. He is the No. 2 player in Florida. However, ESPN’s recruiting rankings consider the elite defensive back to be the top recruit in the nation.

Robinson IV plays high school football for one of the best programs in the country, IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Former five-star cornerback Daylen Everette, who is seeing a lot of snaps for the Bulldogs, also played for IMG Academy.

Robinson IV holds a ton of scholarship offers. The five-star played for New Rochelle Iona Prep in New York before joining IMG Academy.

Robinson IV firmed up his plans to stick with the Dawgs with a simple message via social media:

Robinson IV told Rivals, “I got a lot of trust in Coach Smart and his staff to make me a overall better player at the position knowing that he’s played DB (defensive back) at Georgia also.”

The Kentucky kickoff is at 7 p.m. ET on Oct. 7. Robinson will join numerous other elite recruits for Georgia’s fifth home game of the year. The Georgia-Kentucky game should have an excellent atmosphere.

Robinson said earlier this year that he isn’t going on any more official visits. Robinson committed to the Georgia Bulldogs in February and is planning to sign with the Bulldogs.

Former UGA football DB retires from football

Former Georgia Bulldogs defensive back Lovasea Carroll retires from football

Former Georgia Bulldogs defensive back Lovasea Carroll has retired from college football due to medical reasons. Carroll transferred to the South Carolina Gamecocks from Georgia after the 2021 college football season.

The 6-foot-1, 195-pound native of Warrenton, Georgia, enrolled early at Georgia after being ranked as four-star running back recruit out of high school powerhouse IMG Academy.

Kirby Smart and Georgia football believed Carroll had a better chance to make an impact as a freshman defensive back. Carroll converted to the position during spring drills and recorded three tackles during his freshman season at Georgia. Carroll played in five games for South Carolina as a sophomore. He played as a running back, but did not receive a carry.

It is sad to see Carroll’s football career end due to medical reasons. Carroll played Warren County High School before attending IMG Academy.

Four-star class of 2023 safety recruit Joenel Aguero has named his top four schools and is ready to commit

Four-star defensive back recruit Joenel Aguero is nearing a decision on where he will play college football.

Aguero, a member of the class of 2023, and plays high school football for St. John’s Prep in Danvers, Massachusetts. Danvers is located about 20 minutes north of Boston.

Aguero is one of the best safety recruits in the rising senior class. He picked up some experience playing against elite high school competition when he previously played football at IMG Academy.
