Four-star edge Derrick Brown receives crystal ball in favor of Texas

The crystal ball predictions for Derrick Brown have begun to shift towards Texas. Mike Roach inserted one with a confidence level of seven.

Official visits got off to a hot start for Texas last weekend, hosting some of their top priorities. Texarkana native Derrick Brown was one of them. The four-star edge rusher walked away impressed, saying Austin “felt like home” and reiterated that he would be back.

Brown’s ability on the outside makes him one of the most vital defensive recruits in front of Pete Kwiatwkoski. His Jack/X-back positions are going to be running thin past this season. A player with Brown’s ability would be a major addition for the future.

Oklahoma and Texas A&M have seemed to be the big competitors for Brown. The Sooners have former teammate Clayton Smith from the 2021 class, while Jimbo Fisher has done a great job bringing top in-state to College Station.

Early 247Sports crystal ball predictions came in favor of Oklahoma. Now, Texas has begun to take over. Mike Roach of Horns247 gave a confidence level of 7 for Brown ending up in Austin.

Brown is the No. 302 overall player and No. 15 edge on the national level. Within the state of Texas, the four-star is ranked No. 46.

His junior season was dominant, mixing it up between outside linebacker and rushing the quarterback. Brown finished with 67 tackles, 20 tackles for a loss, six sacks, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and an interception.

Landing Brown would instantly boost Texas’ pass rush moving forward. If Ja’Tavion Sanders ends up on the defensive side of the ball, he and Brown could create a dangerous duo.

Texas lands two crystal ball predictions for three-star ATH Arlis Boardingham

Two Horns247 experts have inserted crystal ball prediction for Arlis Boardingham. He is expected to play on the offensive side in college.

Who likes a little west coach action? Steve Sarkisian, that’s who.

Not many head coaches in the Big 12 will head out west quite like Sarkisian will. The former USC and Washington head coach has kept his connections and hired assistant coaches with ties such as Jeff Choate and Pete Kwiatkowski.

Texas has gone hunting for some of California’s biggest prospects, including landing four-star quarterback Maalik Murphy. On Thursday night, there were two predictions for the Longhorns to land another prospect from California.

Nick Harris and Mike Roach of Horns247 have both inserted crystal ball prediction for three-star athlete Arlis Boardingham. The Birmingham High School product has been featured on both sides of the ball but is expected to play on the offensive side in college.

Boardingham currently has two official visits scheduled in Texas and Arizona State. Herm Edwards will have the opportunity to impress first on June 18. One week later, Boardingham will be in Austin.

California played a shortened spring season thanks to COVID-19. Boardingham played in six games, totaling 24 receptions for 450 yards and six touchdowns. On defense, he recorded 21 total tackles and 8.0 tackles for a loss.

Based on Sarkisian’s offense at Alabama, wide receivers are usually on the smaller side. Jerry Jeudy, Henry Ruggs, DeVonta Smith, and Jaylen Waddle (all who turned into first-round picks) were all 6-foot-1 or shorter.

Boardingham currently stands at 6-foot-4 and weighs in at 220 pounds. If he ends up signing with Texas, Sarkisian and his offensive staff could test the three-star at different positions.

On the 247Sports composite, Boardingham ranks as the No. 450 player and No. 38 athlete in the country. Within the state of California, he is the No. 36 player.

Two Wisconsin targets included in USATODAY’s list of ‘The top offensive linemen in the class of 2022’

USATODAY High School Sports published the 22 top offensive linemen in the class of 2022 today and included in the list are two of Wisconsin

USATODAY High School Sports published the 22 top offensive linemen in the class of 2022 today and included in their list are two of Wisconsin’s top targets in the class.

They are four-star OT Joe Brunner in at No. 7 and four-star OG Carson Hinzman in at No. 14.

Brunner and Hinzman are both Wisconsin natives, are the state’s No. 1 and No. 2 class of 2022 recruits respectively and both have crystal ball predictions to the Badgers.

Wisconsin has built some impressive momentum on the recruiting trail after landing a program-best class of 2021. One of the foundations of that success is landing the top in-state talent.

While Myles Burkett is the program’s only commitment in the class, signs point towards their recruiting momentum continuing as the recruiting cycle continues to heat up.

Texas picks up crystal ball prediction for four-star CB

UT has landed a huge crystal ball prediction. 247Sports has predicted 2021 cornerback Jamier Johnson will commit to the Longhorns on June 3.

Texas has landed a huge crystal ball prediction from Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports, as he has predicted 2021 cornerback Jamier Johnson will commit to the Longhorns. He also gave an eight on his confidence rating, proving Johnson could be on his way to Austin.

Johnson is from Pasadena, California, and would be a rare out-of-state- recruit for Tom Herman. 11 of the 13 guys in the 2021 class are from the state of Texas. Three-star wide receiver Casey Cain from Louisiana and Australian punter Isaac Pearson would join Johnson as out-of-state- prospects.

Rated a four-star prospect on the 247Sports composite, Johnson is a top 300 player in the country. He ranks 17th overall at the cornerback position and 24th in the state of California.

Back on June 11, Johnson announced he would be committing on July 3. His top seven schools consist of Arizona State, Colorado, Nebraska, Ohio State, Oregon, Texas, and USC.

If Johnson does pick the Longhorns, he would be the third commit at defensive back in the 2021 class. Ishmael Ibraheem and JD Coffey both pledged to Texas on June 15.

Texas picks up crystal ball projection for four-star cornerback

Texas could be adding another blue-chip prospect. 247Sports has given a new 100% crystal ball prediction for cornerback Ishmael Ibraheem.

Already atop the Big 12 in the 2021 recruiting class, Texas could be adding another blue-chip prospect. 247Sports has given a new crystal ball prediction for Ishmael Ibraheem, having it 100% towards the Longhorns with a confidence level of eight out of 10.

Ibraheem is a top 200 recruit nationally on the 247Sports composite, ranking 171st overall. More importantly, he is considered a top player in the state of Texas, coming in at No. 28 overall. Judging him against other cornerbacks, he is only behind Latrell McCutchin in-state and No. 13 in the country.

Currently, there are no players projected to play in the secondary in the 2021 class. Ibraheem could start a domino effect with the Longhorns grabbing commits from other cornerbacks and possibly a safety.

If Ibraheem does commit, it would be another in-state pickup for Texas. The Longhorns currently have three of the top 10 in-state players, with the possibility of landing another one in Tommy Brockermeyer.

Success inside the state of Texas has been crucial to their recruiting under Tom Herman. Having the top class in the Big 12 for three consecutive seasons, the Longhorns are on their way to another successful recruiting season.

Four Crystal Ball predictions going against Texas

As well as UT has been recruiting these past years, they are not able to sign everyone. Here are four players predicted to commit elsewhere.

As well as Texas has been recruiting these past few years, the Longhorns are not able to sign everyone. There are plenty of schools from across the country interested in the talent pool here in the state of Texas.

Right now, the main competition for Texas’ prospects is Texas A&M and Oklahoma. Not only are they the Longhorns’ biggest rivals on the field, but the three schools are constantly recruiting the same guys year in and year out.

Currently, there are four big-time in-state players Texas is considered to be a top choice for. However, 247Sports’ crystal ball is predicting for them to pick elsewhere. To land their commitment, Tom Herman will have to make a late fall push and steal away from their rivals.

Here are the four players predicted to go against the Longhorns on 247Sports’ crystal ball:

Four Crystal Ball predictions favoring Texas

Despite being ranked so highly already, UT is not done in the 2021 class. Here are the four players UT is predicted to land on Crystal Ball:

Currently the ninth-ranked class in the nation and the top-ranked class in the Big 12, the Longhorns have been hot on the recruiting trail. If their positioning remains the same, it would be Texas’ fourth consecutive year inside the top 10 nationally and atop the Big 12.

Despite being ranked so highly already, the Longhorns are not done for the 2021 class. As of now, Texas has been predicted to land at least four more recruits according to 247Sports’ Crystal Ball.

With two offensive and two defensive players, Tom Herman has been getting it done on both sides of the ball. Competing against the SEC and rivals such as Oklahoma and Texas A&M, the Longhorns are winning important battles in the state of Texas.

Here are the four players the Longhorns are predicted to land on 247Sports’ Crystal Ball:
