Top 2025 offensive tackle to visit Ohio State

On campus this weekend! #GoBucks

Ohio State’s offensive tackle recruiting in recent classes has drawn some criticism as the Buckeyes failed to land a top 20 On3 Industry ranked offensive tackle in the 2023 and 2024 classes.

The Buckeyes’ 2025 recruiting class is off to a great start. This does indeed include an offensive tackle with Ohio State landing a commitment from Carter Lowe, who is the 38th ranked player and sixth ranked offensive tackle in the class.

Ohio State has also put out offers to 11 other offensive tackles in the class — including David Sanders.

The 6-foot-5.5, 275 pound offensive tackle who attends Providence Day High School in North Carolina is a five star on all four of the major recruiting resources and the second ranked player on On3 Industry rankings.

He is a high priority recruit for many teams around college football, including Ohio State as Sanders is set for a visit with the Buckeyes on Saturday, March 30.

Ohio State Football Recruiting: Updated list of offensive tackle offers

We take a gaze at who Ohio State has offered at the offensive tackle position so far in the 2025 class. #GoBucks

This offseason has been a strong one for Ohio State football. With multiple transfers coming in as well as multiple stars on both sides of the ball forgoing the NFL draft to come back to the Buckeyes for the 2024 season, hopes are high among Buckeye nation.

Ohio State has also gotten some good news on the recruiting front in the offseason. The Buckeyes wrapped up one of the best 2024 classes in college football by bringing in Julian Sayin, the top ranked quarterback in the class who transferred from Alabama after Nick Saban’s retirement.

The Buckeyes have also landed some big commitments out of the 2025 class including 4-star offensive tackle Carter Lowe who committed to Ohio State on Saturday.

With Lowe already on board the Buckeyes are in good shape at offensive tackle for the 2025 class. However ideally, they might need to land one of two more players at the position.

Thus far, Ohio State has offered Lowe and ten other offensive tackles in the 2025 class. We’ll walk through each of those using On3 who is one of the top college football recruiting resources that tracks player rankings on all four main websites and provides predictions, insights, and NIL valuations.

Top five class of 2025 football recruits from Ohio

Top five class of 2025 football recruits from Ohio #GoBucks

The Ohio State football recruiting class of 2024 was a success and included eight elite players from the state of Ohio including future star cornerback, Aaron Scott from Holland, Ohio. Homegrown talent is a vital part of the lifeblood of the Ohio State football program and I wanted to take time to dive into the next class of Buckeye State stars.

When looking at the class of 2025, the Buckeyes look to be in great shape and have verbal commitments from two of the top five Ohio prospects and are the odds-on favorite for a third. In the day and age of name, image and likeness, following recruiting has become a bit more mundane with players flipping wildly due to the promise of cash.

But with the Buckeyes gaining momentum in that department they should be able to make that situation work for and not against them. Let’s examine the top five prospects for the class of 2025 in the state of Ohio.

Alabama is in position to land one of the top offensive tackles in the country for the 2025 recruiting class. On Monday, 2025 offensive tackle Carter Lowe released his top schools list. Alabama was one of the schools named as a finalist.

It will be challenging for Alabama to out-recruit Ohio State for Lowe. After all, Lowe is from Toledo, Ohio which is located a little more than two hours away from Columbus, Ohio.

Interestingly, Lowe will be taking an unofficial visit to Alabama this weekend for the LSU game. This will be the second time that Lowe has been to Tuscaloosa this season. He also visited Alabama for the Texas game in Week 2.

Lowe making the trek from Toledo to Tuscaloosa is something that should not be taken lightly. It shows that there is mutual interest between Lowe and the Crimson Tide. His recruitment will be one to monitor moving forward.
