Ohio State football gets a crystal ball pick for Florida 2025 edge rusher

It’s looking good for the Buckeyes to land the Florida pass rusher. #GoBucks

Ohio State football is already in the mix for some 2025 elite defensive ends, and has a commit from Zahir Mathis.

Another big-time prospect could join him: Florida’s [autotag]London Merritt[/autotag]. The 6-foot, 3-inch and 235-pound edge rusher was given a crystal ball to the Buckeyes by 247Sports director of football recruiting Steve Wiltfong.

It is the first projection for Merritt, who is 9th among edge rushers and 73rd overall on the 247Sports composite. He has just two official visits scheduled, one to Columbus during the weekend of June 14th and the other to North Carolina the weekend prior.

Merritt holds multiple impressive offers, including Alabama, Clemson, LSU and Texas.

Ohio State most likely will sign three to four defensive ends in the 2025 cycle, so getting Merritt to pair with Mathis would be a great start.

Find out below who was offered, how the visit went with the transfer, and where some of the coaching staff visited during the last weekend of January (plus some offers missed on Thursday).

Sooners offer 2025 DL prospect London Merritt

Oklahoma sends an offer to 2025 prospect out of Atlanta, London Merritt.

Oklahoma, like many other collegiate programs, has spent the last few weeks laying the recruiting foundation for their talents of tomorrow in the wake of the 2022 season. The 2024 class is coming up but recruiting isn’t about tunnel vision. It’s being able to balance the here and now with what’s also in the future.

Oklahoma’s been offering 2024 prospects and 2025 prospects over the last few weeks at the same rate. One of those 2025 prospects to receive an offer is athlete London Merritt. Merritt, a Georgia native, stands 6-foot-3 and looks like an eventual EDGE or outside linebacker in the college ranks.

Merritt lines up on both sides of the ball at tight end, defensive end, outside linebacker, and even shaded over interior offensive linemen at defensive tackle.

Merritt is starting to become a national recruit in a hurry as offers from Michigan, Florida, Florida State, Alabama, Kentucky, Nebraska, Pitt, and Missouri have already been received by him.

LSU offers 2025 tight end from Georgia

2025 tight end London Merritt recently picked up an offer from LSU. He is currently an unrated prospect.

LSU recently offered 2025 tight end, London Merritt, from Atlanta, Georgia. Merritt plays for the Woodward Academy War Eagles, who are off to a 5-1 start to the 2022 season.

Last season, Woodward Academy finished 12-1 with a loss to Blessed Trinity in the second round of the 5A playoffs. After region realignment, the War Eagles have moved up to 6A and are currently 3-0.

Currently, there is no film for Merritt, as he is just a young player, but by the end of this season, there will be plenty of film on him. Brian Kelly has shown that he loves to use tight ends in running and passing situations.

Merritt will be a name to keep an eye on going forward.
