Baker Mayfield leads Bucs to thrilling win over Falcons

The Bucs staged a late drive that gave them a win over the Falcons in an NFC South clash

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were making sure that the NFC South did not have any team at or over .500 after Week 14.

Baker Mayfield led a 12-play, 75-yard drive that ended in am 11-yard touchdown pass to Cade Otton with 31 seconds left.

The scoring play and PAT gave Tampa Bay a 29-25 victory over the Atlanta Falcons.

Atlanta had a last gasp to try and overtake its NFC South foes but the drive died at the Tampa Bay 3 after a 28-yard pass from Desmond Ridder to Drake London.

Both teams sit at 6-7 as do the New Orleans Saints. That would mean a three-way tie before tiebreakers in the weakest division in the NFL.

Fantasy football sleepers to play in Week 14

Check out these sleepers to play in fantasy football for Week 14.

In most leagues, Week 14 is the final week of the regular season for fantasy football managers. This is their final time to either make that last push for a playoff spot, secure a first-round bye or play spoiler for a team trying to make it.

Fortunately, the majority of teams have now had their bye weeks. The only two teams on a bye in Week 14 include the Arizona Cardinals and Washington Commanders.

Some managers will opt to go for the safer bet this week, but it’s always a good idea to reach for a ceiling in a must-win game. That’s where the sleepers come in.

Fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em: Week 12

Check out these starts and sits in fantasy football for Week 12.

With Thanksgiving behind us, the battles in fantasy football for the final spots in the playoffs officially hit the home stretch.

Three games took place Thursday and another will take place Friday afternoon in the NFL’s first Black Friday game. No teams are on a bye, though we will be hit with another six teams getting the week off in Week 13.

Doing start/sit articles can be a little challenging. The players featured on the list below should not be taken as “must starts” or “must sits.” Instead, these are more suggestions on what we believe managers should do with fringe players heading into the weekend. The choice is ultimately up to the manager.

Just because a player is listed as a “start” doesn’t mean he should be put in the lineup over the secure, bona fide studs. Vice versa for the “sits.” If there’s no better option on the waiver wire or the bench, a manager shouldn’t automatically sit the player. That’s why these can be tricky waters to navigate.

WATCH: Baker Mayfield hits Cade Otton for a three-yard score

Tampa Bay scored their second first-quarter touchdown all year against the Texans Sunday.

It doesn’t happen often this season, but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers found themselves in the end zone in the first quarter during Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans.

The Bucs were able to move down the field and had their drive extended by a personal foul from the Texans on a late Baker Mayfield hit, and it eventually resulted in the team entering the red zone. The Bucs faced a 4th and short near the end zone, but the team went for it and converted on a Rachaad White run — not long after, quarterback Baker Mayfield found tight end Cade Ottom for a touchdown to give the Bucs the lead back. The touchdown is only the second first-quarter score from the Bucs this year.

The worst Bucs offensive players in 2023 so far, per PFF

These five players are the lowest-graded so far by PFF’s metrics:

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ offense has fired on all cylinders more often than not, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t without its problems.

The Bucs have a great passing offense, ranking sixth in EPA/play in the statistic, but struggle in the run game considerably — Tampa Bay is one of the worst rushing teams in the league. A part of this is the interior offensive line, which hasn’t been nearly as productive as the tackles in Tristan Wirfs and Luke Goedeke have been.

Pro Football Focus has graded every Bucs player so far this year, and some of those weaknesses show in their lowest-graded Tampa Bay offensive players (minimum 30 snaps):

WATCH: QB Baker Mayfield hits Cade Otton for a score against the Saints

Check out Baker Mayfield’s touchdown pass to Cade Otton for the first touchdown of the game on Sunday:

The New Orleans Saints may have struck first on Sunday, but the first touchdown of the game went to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The score came with just under six minutes to play in the game. On third and goal, Mayfield was hurried by the Saints defensive line and was almost sacked but he managed to flick the ball to tight end Cade Otton who effortlessly waltzed in the end zone. While Otton scored, Mayfield took a huge hit from the Saints defense that drew a roughing-the-passer penalty. Mayfield was briefly looked at by trainers but was fine to continue.

The worst offensive players in Tampa Bay’s loss to Philadelphia, per PFF

PFF rated these five offensive players the lowest against the Eagles Monday:

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ offensive prowess certainly slowed down on Monday night after its first two weeks prior.

The Bucs offense scored 20 points in its first two contests but managed just 11 against the Philadelphia Eagles in a 25-11 loss. The most notable lacking aspect of the offense was the run game, which only managed 41 yards on the ground. Much of this was due to the interior line’s poor stretch of play, which has been a notable problem this season.

Pro Football Focus took to grading the offensive players’ snaps for Monday’s game, and while there were some good performers, others struggled. Here are PFF’s five worst offensive players against the Eagles:
