Stats

One-Liner

Despite lacking elite speed, Robinson is an impressive athlete who plays with tremendous tenacity, and with his outstanding footwork, balance, instincts, and proficiency in the passing game, he has the makings of a future star.

Strengths

Plays with excellent vision, natural instincts, feel for blockers and where holes will come open…Does a good job of pressing holes to force decisions. Has explosive acceleration to slice into openings and defenders at contact…Great bend and lateral agility to put foot in ground to get into the second level…Solid lower-body strength and balance to keep his feet moving and run through tackles…Excellent hands and body control in the passing game, runs smooth routes, dangerous on wheel routes….High IQ to pick up blitzers.

Weaknesses

Speed is good, but it isn’t elite…Is sufficient as a blocker in pass protection, but will need to improve his anchor…Tendency to carry the ball loose at times…Hefty workload in college, has averaged 226.5 carries each of the past two seasons.

Texas RB Bijan Robinson speaks with the media at the NFL Combine

Bijan Robinson has met with many teams at the NFL Combine.

Running backs met with the media during Saturday’s portion of the NFL Combine. Many eyes were on Bijan Robinson as the No. 1 ranked player at his position.

Bijan is one of five Longhorns taking part in this year’s NFL Combine. He is joined by Roschon Johnson, DeMarvion Overshown, Moro Ojomo and Keondre Coburn.

Robinson has a great chance to break Texas’ long first-round draft pick drought. He has been recently mocked to teams such as the Eagles, Bills, Ravens and Cowboys. Some experts have gone as far as to compare Robinson to New York Giants all-pro running back Saquon Barkley.

As a Texas Longhorn, Robinson rushed for 1,580 yards and 18 touchdowns in 2022, earning the Doak Walker Award in the process. He ended his college career with 3,410 rushing yards and 33 touchdowns in three seasons. Robinson is a valuable pass catcher out of the backfield as he added eight touchdowns through the air at Texas.

Here is a look at everything Robinson said to the media at the combine on Saturday.

Robinson enjoyed a historic college career at the University of Texas, climbing up school rushing records and winning the 2022 Doak Walker Award.

NFL scouts love watching Robinson’s game. ESPN’s Matt Miller even went as far as comparing Robinson to NFL All-Pro running back Sauqon Barkley.

“Robinson’s contact balance and vision in traffic are some of the best I’ve ever seen. He rushed for 1,580 rushing yards and 18 TDs this season, and he’s also a very good receiving threat out of the backfield (314 receiving yards). There are few players more talented than Robinson in this year’s class.”

Whichever NFL team lands Robinson is getting one of the best running back prospects in recent memory. Multiple teams in the league would provide ideal situations for Robinson to end up in.
