Robert Griffin III demands more respect for Russell Wilson’s comeback year

Wilson appears to have gotten his groove back after a brutal 2022 season.

When it started out, it looked like Robert Griffin III was the best quarterback in the 2012 draft class. That didn’t last long, though. RGIII was never the same after injuring his knee against Seattle in the playoffs that year and in any case Russell Wilson went on to surpass him and everybody else. Now 11 years removed from getting picked No. 75 overall, Wilson appears to have gotten his groove back after a brutal 2022 season.

While it wasn’t a pretty win, Denver’s Monday night victory over Buffalo showed that Wilson can still produce on a big stage, and his numbers for the season show he’s been among the league’s best quarterbacks this year. Here’s Griffin demanding that folks show Russ some respect on Twitter.

Considering what defenses around the league are doing to guys like Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts this season, Wilson’s numbers are undeniably impressive. Best of all, his 6.9% touchdown rate is No. 1 in the NFL right now.

Denver’s defense has also engineered a major turnaround after a bad start to the season. The Broncos’ emergence makes the minefield in the AFC even more crowded and dangerous. Whichever team emerges from that scrum might have a tough time against the eventual NFC champ.

RGIII recreates audio playcall of late Michigan football TD

This is too good! #GoBlue

When Michigan football backup quarterback Alex Orji returned to action after missing several games due to injury, it was assured that the Wolverines would find a way to get him involved in a game. And it also made sense that one of his biggest fans would get involved in a different, more creative way.

Former Baylor, Heisman-winning quarterback and ESPN color commentator Robert Griffin III made waves on a playcall last year when he called a Michigan game. When Orji scored a touchdown, he exclaimed, ‘There’s an Orji in the endzone!’ Considering NBC was on the call on Saturday and not ESPN (which no longer has Big Ten rights) Griffin took it upon himself to make the call.

And he did not disappoint.

Watch below:

RGIII, J.J. Watt defend Michigan football against allegations

Some notable people are standing up for #Michigan in the court of public opinion. #GoBlue

Michigan football has become the main character in college football in recent days in the wake of revelations the Wolverines are being investigated by the NCAA for improper sign stealing. Allegedly.

The allegations range from Michigan sending staffers to games of future opponents to something nefarious being on another staffer’s computer. Given the unusual nature of details being leaked about persons of interest and that the investigation is starting (instead of these being the findings of the investigation and Michigan awaiting punishment), it’s fair to see what’s happening as a witch hunt.

Perhaps the allegations could be true, but the NCAA is putting Michigan’s business out there and letting the court of public opinion decide before it does.

Two notable personalities in football aren’t having it. Robert Griffin III played at Baylor and is a color commentator for ESPN. He commented on his own network’s Instagram post on Thursday decrying the maize and blue being singled out. Similarly, J.J. Watt, who played at Wisconsin, noted on the same post that what Michigan is alleged to have done is merely scout their opponents.

Does any of this look good for Michigan football? Of course not, but it was designed as such. Whether the Wolverines are guilty or not, the damage is done, and Michigan will forever have this stain on its name, even if it’s fully cleared of wrongdoing.

DK Metcalf on differences between Geno Smith, Russell Wilson

The Seahawks star took some time to explain on RGIII’s podcast

Not many wide receivers get to have quarterbacks on a Hall of Fame trajectory throw them passes when they enter the league, but DK Metcalf was fortunate enough to be drafted by the Seattle Seahawks. However, not many receivers also get to see said Hall of Fame caliber quarterback get traded away like Metcalf did.

Despite Wilson leaving, Metcalf still found himself in a favorable situation with the emergence of Geno Smith as a bonafide Pro Bowl caliber signal caller. The two quarterbacks, despite several similarities, do have some considerable differences. Metcalf when on RGIII’s podcast to discuss.

Interesting insight coming from the Seahawks star. Of course, we have no input when it comes to giving fashion advice to RGIII.

Robert Griffin III shares an awesome story about Alex Collins

Collins clearly made a big impact on the people around him, especially former teammates and fans.

The NFL community is mourning the loss of former Seattle Seahawks and Baltimore Ravens running back Alex Collins, who died on Sunday night in an accident at just 28 years old. Collins clearly made a big impact on the people around him, especially former teammates and fans.

Here’s an awesome story about Collins that former Commanders and Ravens quarterback Robert Griffin III shared on Twitter about a night out with Collins in Baltimore.

“Alex Collins was so special man. Amazing teammate and a guy everyone was down to kick it with. This man invited me and wifey out one time in Baltimore and I will never forget it. We show up to the spot and AC is no where to be found. We are looking around for him for 20 min and finally I feel a little nudge on my shoulder. I turnaround and AC is walking behind me, drops his shades to his nose and signals with his eyes to follow him. It was so funny and smooth, we forgot he was 20 min late. AC told us he had to be discreet because he couldn’t have everyone knowing he was there. The rest of the night, we found out why. Everywhere AC went that night everyone knew him. Everyone was excited to see him, laughing when he came around and showing him love. You see everyone loved this man and his energy was contagious. To end the night, he hit this dance with all the fans watching him on the dance floor. WHAT A NIGHT and WHAT A GUY AC WAS. Shared more laughs than people know and I’m blessed to have been your teammate my brother. Rest In Peace.”

RGIII believes Texas RB Bijan Robinson is the ‘best player in the draft’

Robert Griffin III gave high praise to Texas running back Bijan Robinson ahead of the NFL Draft.

RGIII says Texas should use NIL to get Bijan Robinson to return

RGIII thinks Texas should drop a bag to get Bijan Robinson back.

Name, Image and Likeness has changed the game of college football over the past two years. With some players making over seven figures to play collegiate football, it makes the decision to go pro or not a bit tougher.

Former Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III had some interesting remarks about star running back Bijan Robinson’s looming decision after the Longhorns’ win over Baylor.

“Pre-NIL, Bijan should leave. As a running back, you don’t want to keep getting all that pounding on your body before you go to the NFL. If I’m Bijan, I’m saying, ‘Texas make me an offer so I have to come back. Give me $6-7 million in NIL money and NIL opportunities, so I don’t have to go pro and these fans can get another year of Bijan Robinson.’ Because he’s worth it.”

Robinson has been incredible as Texas’ offensive catalyst this season. The Heisman candidate totaled 1,580 rushing yards with 18 touchdowns while adding another 314 yards and two scores through the air.

NFL scouts see Robinson as a first-round draft prospect if he turns pro. Texas would likely have to match the number an NFL contract would pay him to get him back.

RGIII has interesting front runner for 2022 Heisman Trophy

#Michigan fans are going to love this! #GoBlue

Robert Griffin III knows a little something about winning the Heisman Trophy. He once took home the hardware as the quarterback from Baylor. But will his predictions for the 2022 Heisman come true?

RGIII is now a color commentator for ESPN, and he’s taken the social media world by storm. He released his top players in college football, which, unsurprisingly, is comprised mostly of quarterbacks with one notable exception. Down the list are former front-runners C.J. Stroud of Ohio State and Hendon Hooker of Tennessee. If they’re not the ones leading the charge at the moment, who is?

Here are his rankings, featuring eight Heisman Trophy hopefuls, in descending order.

Oklahoma Sooners vs. Baylor Bears All-Time Series History

Oklahoma gets set to host the Baylor Bears on Saturday on ESPN+. From @john9williams

Oklahoma and Baylor played one time in the early days of college football, back in 1901, and went 72 years before meeting on the gridiron again. Before the Big 12 was formed in 1996, the Sooners and the Bears only met five times, with the Sooners winning all five nonconference matchups.

Even during an era of football that is one of Oklahoma’s worst, the Sooners beat the Bears every time during the John Blake era. Oklahoma dominated the series until a fateful road trip to Waco in 2011 introduced the world to [autotag]Robert Griffin III[/autotag].

The Sooners were the No. 5 team in the nation at the time, and after the Sooners took a 24-17 early third-quarter lead, the Bears scored 21 unanswered points to go up 38-24. [autotag]Blake Bell[/autotag] scored two of his four rushing touchdowns in the fourth, the second with 51 seconds remaining in the game. It took [autotag]RGIII[/autotag] 43 seconds to march the Bears down the field for a last-minute touchdown to pull off Baylor’s first win over the Oklahoma Sooners ever.

Since 2011, the Sooners are 8-4 vs. the Bears, and the two sides have played some hard-fought games. Five of the 12 matchups have come down to 10 points or fewer, and even in the 2020 27-14 win, it was tightly contested for much of the game.
