Twitter reacts to Florida’s landmark home win over Auburn

Following the win, the Gator Nation and others took to Twitter to share their jubilation over the massive coup.

Florida basketball scored one of the biggest wins this season on Saturday against the visiting Auburn Tigers inside the O’Connell Center. The oddsmakers and BPI all predicted a close one, but instead, the Gators went wire-to-wire for an 81-65 victory.

It was one of the most complete efforts of the season for Todd Golden’s Gators, who kept the pressure on until easing back during the final 10 minutes. Despite allowing Bruce Pearl’s boys to make the final tally a bit more respectable, the Orange and Blue were clearly the better team that afternoon.

Following the win, the Gator Nation and others took to Twitter to share their jubilation over the massive coup. Take a look below at some of their reactions following the game.

Social media reacts to the Oklahoma Sooners extra inning win over Washington

Oklahoma needed extra innings to beat Washington and here’s how Social media reacted to the win.

In the late game on Friday in Puerto Vallarta, Oklahoma and Washington treated observers to a fantastic game.

Though the Sooners jumped on top early, the Huskies rallied for three runs in the second.

The Sooners were kept off-balance by Ruby Weylan but finally broke through in the sixth inning when Riley Ludlam lifted a single over second. In extra innings, Rylie Boone provided the heroics to give the Sooners the 4-3 win.

In the circle, Nicole May battled before giving way to the Sooners’ bullpen in the fifth. Kelly Maxwell once again stole the show, keeping Washington scoreless for 2 2/3 innings with a pair of strikeouts. She worked around multiple scoring threats to keep the Huskies tamed.

The gutsy win improved Oklahoma to 3-0 and extended its winning streak to a record 56 games and counting.

It was a dramatic finish for the Sooners. Here’s how social media reacted to the Sooners’ 4-3 win over Washington.

Social Media Reacts: Kasidi Pickering hits a grand slam in first career at bat for Sooners

Kasidi Pickering hit a grand slam in her first career at bat for the Oklahoma Sooners and here’s how social media reacted.

In the Oklahoma Sooners’ season opener in the Puerto Vallarta College Classic, a couple of true freshman are making their debut. Kasidi Pickering drew the start in right field and Ella Parker filled the designated player role.

Both made an impact in Oklahoma’s first game of the weekend. It didn’t take long for Pickering to make her presence felt. She hit a grand slam with two outs in the first inning for her first career home run. Pickering took the ball to the opposite field to give the Sooners a 4-0 lead.

It was quite a statement for the former top 10 prospect. Oklahoma is in control of its opener against Utah Valley, and Pickering’s grand slam helped get the party going.

Here’s how social media reacted to Pickering’s grand slam.

Gator Nation reacts to Florida basketball’s historic win over Kentucky

Get a gander at how the Gator Nation and others are reacting to Florida’s huge OT win on Wednesday.

The Florida men’s basketball program did something it had not done in over two decades on Wednesday night inside Rupp Arena.

The Gators, led by a trio of players with at least 20 points scored, outlasted the Kentucky Wildcats in overtime, 94-91, to earn their first victory over a top-10 ranked team on the road since pulling off the coup against the Mississippi State Bulldogs in 2003.

The win was the fourth in a row for the Orange and Blue while representing the team’s first Quadrant 1 triumph. Todd Golden’s gang has been trending upward of late and, hopefully, that will continue into February.

The game had a late finish on the East Coast but that did not stop the Gator Nation from firing up the Twitter app to join their UF comrades, continuing well into the morning hours as well. Take a look at some of the reactions to Florida’s big win below.

Ohio State social media reacts to Jim Harbaugh leaving Michigan for the NFL

Social media in Ohio State corners of the world was quick to react to the Jim Harbaugh news. #GoBucks

In case you missed it, news dropped on Wednesday that Michigan football head coach Jim Harbaugh is moving on from the program after nine years and taking the open Los Angeles Chargers head coaching position.

Harbaugh completed the turnaround from the brunt of many jokes to the top of the mountain by beating archrival Ohio State three straight years, hanging up three straight Big Ten banners and winning the national championship this season.

Reaction to the news was swift on social media, and as Michigan’s biggest rival, Ohio State fans and media members got in on the act, as you would expect.

Here are some of the best social media reactions from Harbaugh heading back to the NFL with a scarlet and gray slant.

Social media reacts: Poor second half, officiating doom Sooners in loss to Texas

The Sooners didn’t play their best ball and didn’t get much help from the officiating crew either and here’s how social media reacted.

After rising back into the top 15 in the nation, the Oklahoma Sooners had a disappointing performance in their 75-60 loss to the Texas Longhorns.

In the second half, the Sooners were outscored by 16 and struggled to find their offensive touch, shooting just 38% from the field, while the Longhorns shot 54% in the second half.

Oklahoma certainly didn’t play well, but they didn’t get much help from the officials who called more fouls against the Sooners in the second half, including a questionable flagrant foul on Le’Tre Darthard.

It was a physical game at the Sooners’ offensive end of the floor, but OU didn’t seem to get the same benefit when they were playing defense.

Ultimately, it was a disappointing loss for the Sooners, who had an opportunity to make a statement in Big 12 play. Instead, they not only lost but had one of their worst performances of the season against their rival.

Oklahoma is now 15-4 on the season and 3-3 in conference play, and here’s how social media reacted to the Sooner’s loss to Texas.

Social media reacts to the Sooners win over the Cincinnati Bearcats

The Oklahoma Sooners picked up a big win over Cincinnati on the road and here’s how social media reacted.

The Oklahoma Sooners picked up a huge Big 12 road win over a tough and athletic Cincinnati Bearcats squad. It was their first road win in conference play after dropping games in Fort Worth and Lawrence last week.

It was also their first win away from the Lloyd Noble Center since they beat the Arkansas Razorbacks in Tulsa back on December 9.

The Sooners were challenged by the Bearcats throughout. It was tied at halftime, and just when it looked like Oklahoma was about to run away with the game, Cincinnati battled back to keep it close.

It was a gritty win, and Oklahoma made the plays down the stretch to keep the Bearcats at bay. In a wild Big 12 where anybody can beat anybody, coming home to Norman with a road victory is huge in the Big 12 race and for NCAA tournament positioning.

The Sooners are now 15-3 and 3-2 in Big 12 play and right in the thick of the conference title race.

Social media reacts to Caleb Downs Ohio State commitment

Social media explodes with the news of Caleb Downs to Ohio State! #GoBucks

Anyone else picking their jaw up off the floor? Ohio State fans were quietly holding out hope, but it sure looked like Alabama All-American safety Caleb Downs would follow his position coach and become a Georgia Bulldog after entering the transfer portal earlier in the week.

But Ryan Day and the Ohio State coaching staff just pulled off one of the biggest coups imaginable and landed one of the best players in college football.

The Buckeyes might have missed out on Downs the first time around, but they didn’t miss on the second attempt and as you can imagine, social media exploded when the bombshell announcement dropped and we’re taking a look at some of the best.

Let’s go!

Social media reacts to Ohio State’s loss to Missouri in the Cotton Bowl

Social media was unsurprisingly in a foul mood after Ohio State’s loss to Missouri in the Cotton Bowl. #GoBucks

We’re all still kind of in shock and disbelief over what we saw from the Ohio State football team in a loss to Missouri in the Cotton Bowl on Friday night. To say that it was uninspiring and lackluster would be a major understatement. In the end, OSU could only muster a field goal for the entire game and fell to the Tigers 14-3.

As you can imagine, and maybe because you felt the same way, Ohio State social media was not at all pleased with what we all witnessed on a television or streaming device coming out of Dallas.

We took a lot of time pouring through a lot of the posts on X, formerly known as Twitter, and picked out some of the best of them to share with you.

Warning: Buyer beware because it isn’t pretty. In fact, it’s downright ugly and you might want to shield some of these from those you love.

Ohio State social media reacts to the Jeremiah Smith early signing period drama

What a fun day it was, and social media was there for it all. #GoBucks

Whew. If this is the new normal with name, image and likeness and the high stakes of big-time college football recruiting, I’m not sure some media members are going to last in the business.

By now, you know all of the drama surrounding Ohio State’s crown jewel of the 2024 recruiting class, wide receiver Jeremiah Smith, the No.1 overall prospect. You know the story by now, but the CliffsNotes version is he was reportedly torn between Ohio State and Miami (Florida), chose the Buckeyes on a national video stream, but then waited hours upon hours to fax (yes, fax) in his national letter of intent.

But, hey, at least it came and cemented his commitment that had been out there for a year, so that the coaches and Buckeye Nation can breathe one heck of a collective, deep sigh.

As with any story with viral momentum, social media was all over it and we were there for it. In fact, we’ve pulled out some of the best posts on X, formerly Twitter, to share with you.

Here are some of the most noteworthy and best social media posts surrounding the day in the life of recruiting — and ultimately signing — Smith.
