Texas players, former high school teammates pitch Bear Alexander to Austin

Georgia transfer DT Bear Alexander could potentially reunite with three high school teammates at Texas.

Transfer portal defensive tackle Bear Alexander has something in common with Texas tight end Ja’Tavion Sanders, linebacker Anthony Hill and cornerback Austin Jordan. All four played high school football for the Denton Ryan Raiders. And while Alexander may have his eyes on USC, the Longhorns could have a strong pitch to come back home to Texas.

Sanders and Hill are considered two of the more transformative players on the Texas roster. Both took to social media on Saturday to let the public know they are aware that Alexander is on the move.

Hill, who co-starred with Bear along the Ryan defense, tweeted to the big time player to “come home.” It’s unclear how fond Alexander is of the football program in Austin, but he’s certainly familiar with the impact Hill and Sanders bring to a football team.

Texas will aim to play on the appeal of reuniting with the three high school teammates and Georgia transfer receiver AD Mitchell.

LOOK: Many of Texasā€™ 2022 signees arrive on campus

The arrival of the fifth-ranked signing class breeds lots of excitement around the program.

The remaining members of Texas’ 2022 class are beginning to make their way to campus for summer workouts.

Last season, Texas watched wide receiver Xavier Worthy and defensive lineman Byron Murphy see significant playing time as true freshmen. The new group is expected to have many competing to make an early impact this fall.

Texas put an emphasis on strengthening the trenches on both sides of the ball in the 2022 cycle.

Five-stars Devon Campbell and Kelvin Banks highlight Texas’ uber-talented offensive line group coming in.

Four-star edge rusher J’Mond Tapp is quick off the line and could help Texas at a major position of need. He joins early enrollees Justice Finkley and Jaray Bledsoe on the defensive front.

The arrival of the fifth-ranked signing class breeds a great deal of excitement around the program. Players were all smiles moving into their long-awaited new homes.

Denton Ryan CB Austin Jordan commits to Texas over Oklahoma, Ohio State

Denton Ryan CB Austin Jordan chooses Texas over Oklahoma, Ohio State

It isn’t all sunshine and daffodils for the Oklahoma Sooners on the recruiting trail. Lincoln Riley and Alex Grinch didn’t receive the news they wanted when 2022 four-star cornerback Austin Jordan chose to commit to the Texas Longhorns over the Sooners and Ohio State.

Jordan played in the Denton Ryan secondary along with 2021 Oklahoma signee Billy Bowman. Instead of joining Bowman in Norman, the top 10 cornerback chose to play with his other high school teammate Ja’Tavion Sanders who signed with the Longhorns.

The No. 10 rated safety in the 2022 class is projected at cornerback for the Longhorns. The Sooners now will turn their focus to other cornerback targets at this point after Jordan announced his intention to play in Texas.

The Sooners are still looking at top athlete Gentry Williams, who is currently projected to pick Oklahoma with USC quickly gaining ground on the Tulsa, Oklahoma product.

Another name to consider at cornerback would be Lorenzell Dubose of Louisiana. He is a three-star composite and a top 50 cornerback of his class. Oklahoma has recently added Robert Spears-Jennings and Jayden Rowe already at the position in the 2022 class.

Four-star Texas cornerback Austin Jordan includes Ohio State in his top three

Four-star 2022 cornerback Austin Jordan out of Denton, Texas has announced his final three schools, and Ohio State is one of them.

[jwplayer d287D1u4]

At this point, if you’re a defensive back, you almost have to look at Ohio State right? The program has beenĀ dubbed DBU by ESPN, and hasĀ self-proclaimed the defensive backs as B.I.A. (Best in America).

It should be no surprise then that a four-star 2022 defensive back out of Texas has included the Buckeyes in his top three. Austin Jordan, out of Ryan High School in Denton, Texas, announced his top three schools through his Twitter account on Wednesday and had OSU included with Oklahoma and Texas.

Denton is ranked as the No. 21 cornerback, and a top 200 overall prospect in the entire class according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. There is no definitive timeline on a decision for Denton, but we’ll stay close to any further news that develops. Right now, he is considered a lean towards Oklahoma, but that pull to go to an Ohio State program that has produced the best defensive back talent in recent years has to be a factor.

Right now, Ohio State is putting together another fantastic recruiting class in 2022, and adding a corner the caliber of Jordan would add to it.

Ohio State football in the mix for another top 2022 talent

Ohio State would love to land another top cornerback in the 2022 class. One of the best in the country included the Buckeyes in his top 10.

Just because we’re in the middle of basketball season, doesn’t mean our ears can’t perk up when we hear some football news. While the basketball Buckeyes are getting it done on the hardwood, the Ohio State football team is continuing to make waves in the 2022 recruiting cycle.

We told you earlier about Walter Nolen, the nation’s No. 1 defensive tackle who has trimmed his list and kept the Buckeyes in the top-ten. Now another top talent has also cut his list to ten and again we see that beautiful scarlet and gray.

Austin Jordan is a four-star cornerback from the state of Texas. The Buckeyes got in early on Jordan offering him all the way back in 2019. If the Bucks are to land Jordan, they’ll have to beat out a who’s who of blue bloods. Outside of OSU, the young corners list includes Texas, USC, Notre Dame, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, Georgia, Penn State, Texas A&M, and Auburn.

Ohio State already has verbal commitments from five-star cornerback Jaheim Singletary and four-star cornerback Jyaire Brown in the 2022 class. But can you ever have too many corners? Uhh… I don’t’ think so. Not at a place that calls itself B.I.A. (Best in America) for the defensive back position group.

Oklahoma makes top 10 for another Denton Ryan product

Denton Ryan’s Austin Jordan of the 2022 recruiting cycle has released his top 10 schools. The Oklahoma Sooners are among three Big 12 teams.

The Oklahoma Sooners had some luck in getting 2021 athlete Billy Bowman out of Denton Ryan to flip. They did miss out on Bear Alexander, but another 2022 defender might be getting closer to coming to Norman. Austin Jordan recently released his top 10 schools. Joining Oklahoma from the Big 12 Conference is the Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma State Cowboys. As usual, Texas A&M will also be in the running for a top defender from the Lone Star State.

According to 247Sports composite rankings, Jordan is a top 20 player at his position, top 30 in the state, and No. 167 overall. While they did make the list for his top 10, no official commitment date has been set for the talented cornerback that played alongside Bowman as they won the 5A state championship in the 2020 season.

Georgia football offers top-100 player in class of 2022

Monday, 2022 top-100 player and 4-star corner back Austin Jordan tweeted about receiving a scholarship offer from Georgia football.

On Monday, Austin Jordan, a 2022 4-star corner back from Denton, Texas, took to Twitter to announce a scholarship offer from Georgia.

247Sports has Jordan ranked as the No. 13 corner and No. 83 prospect overall in the 2022 recruiting class.

He holds offers from Ohio State, Texas and Oklahoma among 14 others.

247Sports wrote:

“Good size for a corner prospect with great frame potential. Terrific athlete with great top-end speed verified in a track setting (10.98 100 as a freshman). Flashes impressive turn-and-run ability vs. vertical game. Aware in zone coverage with physical tools to excel in man. Can improve ball skills. Plays a bit high at times. Tackling consistency can improve. Among the top DB’s in Texas for 2022. Projects to high-major level with long-term NFL Draft potential.”

Jordan is a two-sport star at Ryan High School where he plays football and runs track. As a freshman, he ran a 10.98 100 meter and 22.08 200 meter which easily makes him one of the fastest players in the 2022 class.

Although it is still very early in the 2022 recruiting cycle, Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs know that you can’t teach speed, so look for Austin Jordan to be a major target in the year to come.
